I love my basics – from oversized tees and dolman tops to the perfect wash denim – but every wardrobe needs those pieces that can help you transform those basics into outfits that are really anything but basic. Here are three of my must-have pieces that will transform your wardrobe:

1. A blazer that says “no nonsense” : There’s something about a blazer that instantly adds that polished chic element. Throw it on over a simple tee and jeans and it will totally revamp your look. I know this blazer is a little spendy but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started investing in some classic pieces that I know won’t go out of style and this is one of them. Here is a budget friendly version under $150 and this one is under $50.

2. A pair of heels that make you feel like you can do anything. Every girl needs a pair of classic black pumps and this suede pair is amazing – it’s such a flattering cut and I love the gold metal heel detailing. (Also own this same style in pink).

3. That designer bag you’ve been eyeing. I’ve said it before, but adding quality details like a classic designer bag can instantly make your look read more high-end. It’s a rule I live by when mixing high-end and budget friendly pieces in one outfit and, even if you start small, splurging on something outside your normal comfort zone will upgrade your entire wardrobe.
