The Printed Dress: Love this printed dress I got a couple weeks ago. It would look great paired with a coin necklace and white fringe kimono, or you could do a basic denim jacket. I love it by itself though too!

The Perfect Comfortable Dress: Nothing better than a comfy dress and sneakers (just got these). Hello weekend! I’m obsessed with this T-shirt dress also crushing on this subtle stripe drawstring dress. I’m debating between the pink and white or white and grey. Which color do you guys like better?

The Little Black (CASUAL) Dress: How cute is this crochet black mini dress. I need this for the beach.

My Favorite Neutral Makeup

After the long, cold months of winter, we’re all inevitably drawn to the bright colors typical of spring and summer. Toning things down with your makeup means you can go all out with the rest of your wardrobe and accessories without going overboard. To keep your complete look from reading too 80s sitcom, switch out your dramatic makeup from something more natural. The contrast of neutral makeup against a bright ensemble will leave your look both subtle and season-appropriate.

1. Eyebrows bear the brunt of the burden for pulling off a successful neutral beauty effect, so treat them as such! A soft filler in the right color (2 shades lighter than your hair color, according to most pros) is all you need for bold but natural-looking brow. Because I have ombre hair I go for a shade lighter than my root color. My go to is this eye brow pencil. The entire collection is amazing but this eyebrow pencil and this brow wax primer are my go to’s. The wax primer keeps the fly aways in.

2. Bronzer and illuminator (I really like this one and this one) will work overtime to give your skin that effortless glow and natural-looking contour. Even if I don’t have foundation on I like to bronze my cheeks for a quick color. I have used this one since high school. This one if great for contouring because it blends easy.

3. A little eyeliner goes a long way, but a little white liner goes even further. A subtle application will brighten your eyes instantly while still maintaining that ‘all-natural’ effect. Apply the white liner to the inner corner of your eyes.

4. Don’t think you should skip blush when wearing brights – there is nothing more natural than flushed, rosy cheeks! A minimal touch of blush is all you need. I love this one.

5. Every woman can pull off a nude lip. I am obsessed with this gloss (color: turkish delight). I swear by it because I feel like it looks good on every skin tone. It also looks great as a finishing gloss over lipstick if you want a little shine. My other go to lip color is this pink shade (color: saint germain) it is the color I have worn in most of my pics recently. It’s a soft pink that looks great with your neutral wardrobe.

6. I don’t wear eye shadow very often but when I do I opt for a shadow with out shimmer. This is my favorite natural palette. I use the cream tones to highlight my brows and the light tan and browns for my lids.

7. Nothing puts the finishing touch on a neutral beauty look like a white manicure. I think I keep an all white mani 75% of the spring/summer. I love how it looks especially when you have a tan!

The Suede Bootie

In the throes of boot season I can’t help but look forward to warmer weather for a chance to break out my open-toed booties (admittedly, I am always just excited to swap out sandals for boots by the time July hits ;). With April peeking its head around the corner, it’s an ideal time to pull out the perfect spring shoe for the transition. I love this pair from M. Gemi. The color is beautiful and I love the suede combined with the lace up detail in the back. They are handmade in Italy and the quality is amazing especially for the price point. M. Lace is one of the most classic and feminine textures that has been loved for what seems like all of time. It’s probably one of the only styles that both you and your grandmother see eye to eye on ;). There are so many fresh ways to incorporate lace into your wardrobe. Nordstrom Rack has a lot of cute lace pieces right now. I found this blush lace top (60% off) a couple weeks ago (I always get so excited when I find designer pieces on discount there!). Here is a budget friendly alternative for under $35. They also have really cute lace dresses – this white one (60% off) is my favorite and this pink Alice and Olivia Dress is 60% off too.

If you need some lace styling inspiration, try adding a modern twist like boyfriend jeans, a leather jacket, or distressed denim to balance out the feminine effect of lace with some edge. One of the newest takes on lace is ditching the lower layer to show a bit of skin. You can either pair a pretty bralette or bandeau underneath or, for a little more conservative coverage, my go-to is always a nude cami – it shows off the beautiful lace detail while keeping you covered. Nude camis always work better than black or white – so if you don’t have one this is a closet staple.

In honor of National Fragrance Day tomorrow I am excited to share another one of my favorite Bath and Body Works scents: Moonlight Path. I grew up wearing this because it was my mom’s favorite and I liked to copy her 🙂 I always keep the little travel one in my bag because I hate when my hands get dry. It smells like a mix of fresh florals and lavender. I was inspired by the scent to pair this lavender floral blazer (also loving this floral blazer!) with my favorite shoes. White is a universal color everyone loves, but often people are afraid to wear it because they feel it pales them out. That can sometimes happen in the winter, but not in the spring and summer. The sun and blooms bring life to the color even if you aren’t perfectly bronzed. Also pairing it with an accent color like pink (how cute is this scarf?) or blue helps bring life to the color. So drop your misconceptions and opt for that pretty white dress. It is one of the most versatile spring pieces and comes in so many variations it’s easy to find one that fits your style. Best Denim Under $100

I have been finding the best budget friendly denim lately. So I wanted to share what brands I have found work the best and what styles. My two favorite jean buys hand down this season have been these white skinnies and these distressed boyfriend jeans. I have always been a fan of Topshop’s patterned denim but this year I finally tried their regular denim and I am obsessed. I ordered these two pairs (this one and this one) last week because I loved the fit of my white ones so much. I also ordered this pink denim. How pretty is the color? This is my second favorite brand of denim for styles under $100. I have always been a big fan of their faux leather jackets but this year they have stepped up their jean game. I love these boyfriend jeans because they are a little fitted but still relaxed. These super distressed ones are really cute too. Perfect for festival season!

Can’t believe our baby boy turns one today! I couldn’t be more thankful to have this little guy! I designed this little tee for him to celebrate the occasion. Every day I think I couldn’t love him more and then some how I do. So much of his personality is coming out. He’s such a laid back baby, other than when he’s hungry he freaks out, but even in his tantrums I want to squeeze him. The pouty face he gets kills me as much as the happy ones.

A Couple Milestones from this Year:

Crawled and Pulled Himself Up: 8 months

First Word: Dada (mama was a close second 🙂 He’s started saying ba-ba a couple weeks ago – which usually means bottle, ball, and blanket all the necessities in his life 🙂 I swear I hear him repeat random things I say like yes or love you but honestly I think it’s just my imagination or a mumble that somehow sounds like a word.

Started Walking: 9 months – Christmas Eve he took his first steps (like 5 or 6)! Then he stopped for a couple weeks and really started walking mid January. I’ll never forget I was getting ready and he just stood up by the bedroom door and did this little waddle over to me. He had the biggest smile like he was so proud of himself! I was crying I was so excited (haha I’m such a cryer!)

First Tooth: 5 1/2 months – lower left tooth, his second lower bottom tooth came in almost the same week // right now he has 10 teeth

Slept through the night at 6 months

Current Favorites:

Blowing Kisses, Clapping his Hands, Dancing to Hip/Hop and Taylor Swift

His Favorite Songs: Time of Our Life by Neyo and Pitbull // Shake it Off by Taylor Swift // He loves loud music! Especially music videos if it’s anything with a beat he will dance.

Favorite Food: Oreo Milkshakes // Baby food: Apples and Spinach and Sweet Potato Gerber Puffs

Random Things He Loves: Climbing Stairs – he bolts for them anytime he sees any, we’ve got baby gates everywhere! // washing machines (we have a front loader) and he just stands there and smacks the door grunting when it’s turned or I’ll find his toys thrown in them when its empty // balls – he loves balls!! It’s always the first toy he goes for no matter whats around.

His Brother and Sister: they always know how to make him laugh. Wes says booty tooty (I know super good words) and he just starts laughing like crazy. Mara just smiles at him and he does this smile thats like a huge gasp of air with a huge grin.

Toys on Toys: Now that he’s walking he always has two things in his hand. He just roams around the house, usually in his diaper and one sock (somehow one always falls off) with the most random things. Usually a spoon, a ball, or the remote. He loves the remote!! and this little toy car I got him in New York.

Feeding Mio: We used to keep Mio’s bones in a box on the floor. B figured out how to open the box and used to just pass him bone after bone. It was the funniest thing to watch, now Mio just sits next to his high chair and patiently waits for B to pass him any treat off his tray.

Balloons: Every time we are at the grocery store we always walk through the balloon section and he gets so excited. Anytime he sees a balloons he lets out a high pitch squeal. That’s what inspired this little shoot at the house they used for the Disney movie Up. Balloons make everyone happy I think 🙂

Happy Birthday Baby boy! I love you more than ever! Can’t wait to continue watching you grow!

There are two pieces you need in your closet this Spring: a neutral blouse and a colored moto jacket. The best part is both pieces are under $100. I’ve always loved blush pink and we are seeing so much of it this season (I’m not complaining). This blouse reminds me of the high end ones I have but half the price. There is also this version (still under a $100) which comes in like 10 colors. The hot pink is really pretty too!

Now moto jackets. I have always loved these edgy pieces, but this season we are seeing them in every shade from pastels to bright candy colored tones. How pretty is the shade of this blue one? They actually have it in three colors, I really debated getting the grey too. Its so pretty! The material feels kind of like suede so it looks expensive. I also fell in love with this bright yellow moto and this classic white one. What ever color you decide on – a moto is a closet staple this Spring.

This weekend we are celebrating B’s birthday! Ahhhh I can’t believe it! My family all just got into town so I’m excited to hang out with them.
