Last month I shared some of my skincare essentials to get your skin ready for spring (full post here). So I wanted to share a follow it up with the essentials you should be doing now to get your skin ready ready for swimsuit season!

  1. Your full-body skincare routine: The first thing people see during bikini season is your beautiful skin, so start giving it some TLC! Get that flawless skin started now by exfoliating regularly, detoxing, and sealing in that moisture. I read about citrus baths as a way to help get rid of toxins and even out skin tone – it’s also a great mood-booster. For moisturizing, Olay just launched their Cleansing Infusions collection and the products are clinically proven to make your skin radiant and give it a glow. My skin always dries out so much during the summer (especially here in Utah) so I love any product that’s hydrating and the Cleansing Infusions lock in so much moisture. There are two scents and they both smell sooo good – you guys have to try them and tell me what you think! You can order them here or also pick them up in-store at Ulta.
  2. Protecting your skin: Protect, protect, protect! I have become such a fanatic about skincare. I used to never wear sunscreen but now that I have gotten older and learned all the issues and havoc sun damage causes on your skin, I don’t leave the house without it! I use the Olay Whip moisturizer in the morning which has SPF before I put on my foundation. I also keep a bottle of the Kate Somerville SPF 50 setting spray in my bag so if we are spending a long time in the sun or playing in the water, I can quickly spray my face to make sure it’s still protected but not mess up my makeup. Protect your skin now to help prevent issues in the future. 🙂
  3. Bronze up! Even though I am wearing high SPF I still like to look tan! Anyone else? I am naturally a little dark (I’m Colombian) but I also use self-tanner, especially on my face. These oil drops you mix with your moisturizer are my favorite. They don’t make you look orangey or streaky. It says to put a moisturizer on after you apply, but I found it goes on more smoothly if I mix it with my moisturizer.
  4. Your fitness routine or new healthy eating habits. They say you start to see changes in your body within 4 weeks of starting a new healthy eating or fitness regimen, and others start to notice after 8 weeks. That means now is the time to start hitting it hard at the gym or to cut out those foods you’ve been having second thoughts about. I know it’s so hard to stay motivated – at least for me it is at times – so have a friend join the challenge and plan fun rewards when you guys complete each week. Maybe it’s a girls’ dinner or pedicures, just something to help keep you motivated. Don’t forget to take progress pics! Sometimes you forget how much you’ve improved until you look back!
  5. Practicing self-love. At the end of the day, what stands out most during swimsuit season is confidence. Whatever size you wear, or however dark or non-existent your tan, what is most beautiful is your own confidence in a swimsuit. I’ve recently started to appreciate the power of positive affirmations, so start now and tell yourself every day how amazing your body is and how grateful you are for being you! That confidence will give you a glow that only comes from within.

What habits have you guys started lately to get prepped for the summer?

Hello Fashion Presets

Guys!!  I am soooooo excited to finally launch my Lightroom presets with you guys and even MORE EXCITED to see your photos with them! These are all presets I use on my own photos every day! This pack comes with 6 different presets to use on your photos. I wanted to create a set that was about bringing to life and beauty in the colors we see around us! Below are some before and afters so you can see how they work 🙂 There is also a little description with the style or vibe behind them too. Hope you love them!

hello fashion preset

HF1: LIFE IN COLOR

This is my go-to preset. The name was inspired by my love for color! I’m continually inspired by the vibrant colors around us – it’s about bringing ‘life’ to every photo! Bright that rich color to every photo with this preset to make any color come to life. Infuse everyday moments with a “life in color”.

hello fashion hot tamale preset

hello fashion hot tamale preset

HF2: RED HOT TAMALE

This preset was named after our families favorite candy: Hot Tamales 😉 This preset is about making those bold reds even bolder with the Red Hot Tamale filter. It’s the perfect preset for an image that pops.

hello fashion less is more preset

hello fashion less is more preset

HF3: LESS IS MORE

Sometimes less is more. This preset is perfect for those images that just need a little pick me up. With whiter whites and more muted tones, this is for the minimalist looking for a clean photo.

hello fashion sunset preset

hello fashion sunset filter

hello fashion sunsets

HF4: SUNSET TO SUNRISE

Cameras never do a sunrise or sunset justice. No matter what I shoot it one, I feel like what your eye sees is so much brighter and richer! This preset is about bringing the color our eyes see to life in a photo. Capture the magic of the most beautiful time of day with this preset to make tones more vibrant.

hello fashion vintage polaroid preset

HF5: B&W VINTAGE POLAROID:

Add a vintage, polaroid feel to your shots with this warm black and white edit. With a soft contrast, this perfect preset for really sunny images and beach pics for capturing those truly postcard worthy moments.

hello fashion midnight mood preset

HF6: B&W MIDNIGHT MOOD:

A moody take on a classic black and white edit, the Midnight Mood filter is the perfect preset to capture all the feels in black and white.

Can’t wait to see you guys use the presets! Don’t forget to share your edits with #HelloFashionPresets – can’t wait to share some of my favorite edits and tag you guys on my stories! These filters only work if you have Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC 🙂 Also a ton you guys have asked about if these work on mobile – we are finishing up the mobile pack which I hope to launch with in the next week. This will be a smaller package just for mobile.

These presets are made for both jpeg and raw images. I shoot a majority of my instagram pictures on my iphone so I wanted them to work with jpeg images! I find myself having to adjust them a little more with raw files but raw will allow you to manipulate color easier and give you a higher quality photo. If you are using these presets on jpeg images just take the grain all the way down to 0.

You can shop the presets here. If you have more questions, you can see some FAQs here and be sure to download on your computer/laptop once you buy the download link after you purchase 🙂

SPRING SPRING SPRING! Doesn’t it just make you so happy! Today is two casual everyday looks in my favorite classic neutral tones. We just launched this military jacket at ILY and I love how it’s a statement piece but still neutral so it works with anything. We also just added these denim shorts (under $100) and I love the wash and fit. So excited it’s getting time for shorts season again! Also these white sandals are kind of a dupe of a designer pair but I love them so much! I wore them a ton on our beach trips earlier this year and they just restocked the sizes! They are under $100 too!

You can shop more of the new ILY arrivals below and a few ways I’ve styled them in this post.

BECKAM: FLANNEL SHIRT (ALSO LOVE THIS ONE) | JEANS | CONVERSE

Happy Monday guys!! How was your weekend? Ever since it’s started warming up here we can’t help but to be outside as much as possible. These pics were from last week, One of B’s favorite things to do lately is ride his bike around the neighborhood (before everyone freaks out about not having his helmet one- he has one and wears it!! He just wanted to show our friends his new bike before Cody went to dinner with his friends 🙂 On laid back days like this I totally go for my typical mom uniform which usually includes comfy jeans (these are under $100) and a good basic tank. These distressed jeans are so comfy and I love wearing them with more casual outfits. I’m also obsessed with these layered necklaces (here and here) and have been wearing them with everything!

This weekend Mara and Wes were over (I always get so many dm’s asking why they aren’t in more pics, or who these new kids in my insta stories are lol, so I know I sound like a broken record but they are my step babies and we only have them part time 🙂 We started doing yard work this weekend, and some spring cleaning getting ready to have people over! We have a covered patio in the back on the second floor of our house and we haven’t done anything with it since we moved in, it had patio furniture I bought the summer before but we were gone so much it never got assembled 🙈 so this weekend we cleaned it all up and finally put the furniture together! I had this fun idea to build a tent and camp outside on the patio, sleep under the stars with the kids and eat popcorn all night. It was going to be perfect, so we borrowed my sister in laws tent, attempted to set it up – Cody and I ended up arguing over how to put up the tent half way into it lol, realized it wouldn’t stay up super well because it’s on a patio and we don’t have dirt to secure it down to, so needless to say my picture perfect tent night under the stars turned into a disgruntled mess! Ha! Cody and I ended up laughing about it because I think as a parent sometimes we create these “special” moments in our head of what we want something to be, and it doesn’t work out! So the next night, Cody pulled our mattresses onto the deck and set up the tv with popcorn and blankets all sweet to surprise us. We started to watch The Wizard of Oz, and realized how noisy it was and that we all get allergies haha – we bagged it again.

Now everyone is asleep in our room and I’m wide awake for some reason, watching reruns of The Office, and just thinking about how thankful I am for family…. anyways – have you guys had one of those moments you build up in your head and it doesn’t quite work out 😉

Happy Friday, guys! Today is the first day of the Sephora Spring sale for VIB and Beauty Insiders (if your not an insider you can sign up here – it’s free and basically you just get points towards free gifts and special discounts) During this sale you can get up to 15% off tons of their products, and I’ve become a major beauty junky so I wanted to share a few of my recent favorites that work for any skin type, from cult favorites to new finds that I swear by:

Sephora Favorites

DETAILS: 1. MINI FACIAL MASK | 2. NIGHT OIL | 3.  HYDRATING DAY SERUM | 4. LUMINOUS SKIN MIST | 5. CHARCOAL MASK TREATMENT  | 6. PLUMPING LIPGLOSS | 7. VITAMIN C SERUM | 8. PEPTIDE CREAM | 9. LIQUID LIFT WRINKLE TREATMENT | 10. CLARIFYING LOTION TONER | 11. FOUNDATION | 12. BACKLIGHT PRIMING FILTER | 13. SELF-TAN FACE DROPS  | 14. EYE CREAM | 15. SPF SETTING SPRAY | 16. PERFUME

DAILY: These are my go-to skincare products that I use pretty much every day, some old and new!

  • Clarifying Lotion Toner: I’ve been using this toner for years. I feel like toner is one of those steps that get skipped a lot, but it’s a must!
  • Eye Cream: Obsessed! It’s super tightening for fine lines under your eyes and a lot of times it takes me a few weeks to get hooked on something and see results, but this one had me hooked in days! You guys have to try it.
  • Liquid Lift Wrinkle Treatment: I just start using this one in the last couple months. Cody and I have been putting it to the test and it really does help with fine lines!
  • Vitamin C Serum: I heard so many great things about this one and it totally lives up to the hype! It has a higher concentration than a lot of serums so it means businesses.
  • Hydrating Day Serum: This one dissolves dead skin cells and penetrates deep into the pores for really intense hydration. Just started trying this one, but it’s another great one.
  • SPF Setting Spray: You guys have heard me mention this one a couple times. It’s a makeup setting spray but it also has SPF so it’s super easy to apply, especially if you forget to apply your SPF before you do your makeup.
  • Perfume: My signature scent! A forever favorite.
  • Night Oil: I’m always worried about using products with retinol, but this one has just enough to help with anti-aging, but not too much to where I start drying out and peeling. Another new favorite I’m obsessed with!

MAKEUP: My skin is really sensitive, so I’m super picky about what I put on my face. I don’t wear makeup every single day, but here are some of my staples when I do:

  • Luminous Skin Mist: I think this is a new cult favorite but its another one that’s worth the hype. So good for that dewy glow.
  • Plumping Lipgloss: What girl doesn’t love a little extra plump! Love this one.
  • Backlight Priming Filter:  My makeup artist recommended the Becca primers and I love both of them!
  • Foundation: This one is really hydrating and hypoallergenic! Great for days when you want a full coverage foundation.

WEEKLY: We all need those pick-me-ups – here are some your skin will thank you for!

  • Mini Facial Mask: Yes! This one is true to it’s name and makes your skin feel like a baby’s! It works as a mini facial to brighten and tighten your skin, while gently exfoliating at the same time.
  • Charcoal Mask Treatment: I love a good charcoal mask and this one is weirdly gratifying since you can see where it’s working, haha.
  • Self-Tan Face Drops: Because even if you are religious about your SPF, your face still needs a little color. Love these!
  • Peptide Cream: This one is like a protein smoothie for your face to give you fresher, stronger looking skin.

Below are a few more great products on sale right now at Sephora!

Hey you guys! You probably already know by now but I love all things bright and pastel when it comes to athleisure. I just bought these sneakers and I absolutely love them! They are from the kids section but since they run big, most people will be able to fit in them still. I am normally a size 7.5-8 and the kids size 5 fits me perfectly.

This duffel bag is also perfect for the gym and on the go! I’m obsessed with the pattern and it’s under $100. I always love a good comfy sweatshirt to wear while running errands or to throw on before going to the gym and I’m dying over the color of this one! I also love this cropped one (and it’s under $40!). These toner wipes are awesome for right after the gym to keep you from breaking out.

How do you guys feel about the pastel trend this season?!

Today’s outfits are all about denim! I’m loving all the statement denim we are seeing this season. These red and white stripe jeans are my new favorites and they are under $100! (Does it remind any one else of the 90’s too?! I love it!). The other trend we are seeing is clean denim – less distressing and clean lines. These skinnies are the perfect everyday denim (also under $100) but still bring interest with a two tone hem at the ankle. Pair it with a suede jacket for the perfect day to night look.

7 Reasons to Stay at The Peninsula Paris

Going through these pictures and all I can think about it when we can get back to Paris! Ah it’s such a magical city. We collabed with The Peninsula Paris and it was seriously the prettiest hotel I’ve stayed in in Europe! I’m working on a full post of what we did and just finished a blog of our trip so that will all be coming in the next week 🙂 So with that I wanted to share 7 reasons you need to stay at the Peninsula next time you are in Paris!

Paris

1. Location, location, location: There’s soooo much to see and do in Paris that it would take a thousand visits to see even half of it. You always have to be strategic about where you stay since the city is so big. The Peninsula is right by the Arc de Triomphe (.2 miles), close to the Champs-Élysées and all the iconic shopping, and a quick cab ride to the Eiffel Tower (1.2 miles). It’s such a great location so you can take advantage of every minute in the city.

paris views

We checked in right at sunset and was so excited to catch the pretty pastel sunset from our balcony. (FLORAL PRINT DRESS)

parisian views

2. The large balconies and views: Ah, I will never get tired of Parisian balconies with a view. The architecture everywhere in the city is so unreal. There isn’t a single ugly building (except maybe the random skyscraper or two, just because it feels so out of place haha). The Peninsula had such the perfect view of Paris and you can also go up to the restaurant on the 6th floor for a view overlooking the city with the Eiffel Tower!

breakfast in bed

Lili Restaurant

3. The food: What is Paris with out yummy food!! We ate a lot of cute restaurants, but sometimes we were jet lagged or so tired from walking around we just wanted to be low key and relax at the hotel. One morning we got room service – fresh fruit, waffles, fresh fruit juice, pastries. All so good but my favorite was hands down the granola and yogurt with honey. You HAVE to try it if you stay at The Peninsula. The yogurt was the best I’ve ever had. We also heard amazing things about L’Oiseau Blanc (the restaurant at the top of the hotel with a breathtaking view of the city) and LiLi, the Chinese restaurant at the hotel. We tried to get reservations last minute for Lili on a Friday night which didn’t work out for us, (definitely book in advance when you go 😉 but we ordered LiLi room service and it was some of the best Chinese I’ve had. I would never have thought Paris would be the place to order Cantonese/Chinese, but it’s definitely a must-try (order the fried rice and the beef tenderloin)!

peninsula bathroom

peninsula paris bathtub

4. The bathrooms – The bathroom was another one of my favorite features, pictures don’t do justice. You guys know what a bath girl I am, I take one almost every night!!  But how amazing are they when your traveling – especially when you  spend all day on my feet!  This one even had a tv built in in next to it so you could watch movies while you relaxed. I could have spent hours soaking! So good. This one had amazing lighting too and this might be weird, but the toilet seats were heated and I think it’s one of those features that once you find out it exists, you never want to go back.

the best hotel closets

DETAILS:  GREY CROPPED SWEATSHIRT (ON SALE UP TO 25% OFF – CODE: EVENT18) | DISTRESSED DENIM

5. The walk-in closet: You guys know I’m a chronic over-packer, but this trip I think if anything I under packed! I was definitely digging into the bottom of my suitcase on the last day. The closet at The Peninsula was insane. It was bigger than my closet at home! Maybe my favorite part of the room haha. It was so big – gave me major home inspo! I loved the extra room to be able to spread out and not have my suitcases in the way.The closet literally turned into my office in the middle of the night when I couldn’t fall asleep. I don’t know why this trip I had the hardest time adjusting to the time difference! I also get major inspiration when I travel and I think I was just so excited on the high of Paris that I was really excited to knock out work stuff at night. But why my friends were sleeping I would sneak into the closet which became my office haha and work through the night. This is a 6am selfie after a long night of brainstorming 😉

6. The gym: The fitness center is open 24 hours a day, so if you haven’t quite adjusted to the time difference you can hit the gym while everyone else is still (or already) asleep. Also, I didn’t try this service but they have a personal coaching session available in the mornings and evenings if you want to try something new.

7. The service! I can’t go without mentioning how helpful everyone was at the hotel. When you called and asked for blankets or anything they would bring it within just minutes. You know sometimes at other hotels it takes like 45 minutes to get an extra pillow or blanket, its the worst! Here they would respond so fast!!  The entire staff went out of their way to say hello or see if there was anything they could help with – it made the entire experience that much more magical.

California Spring Break

Hey guys! I wanted to put together a full round up of all my outfits from our trip to California last week for spring break since I’ve gotten so many questions. I’m so sad Liketoknow.it isn’t working the same as it used to! Facebook changed their algorithm so you when you like my outfit pictures it won’t email you anymore. But you can follow me in the Liketoknow.it app to see my outfits still, and I’ll always add details here on the blog too!

I was so excited to go back to the flower fields with the family. I took Beckam when he was two years old and talked Cody into going again because I am obsessed with all things flowers! They still get me every time! The colors were actually richer this year than when I went last time.

This is the perfect little white dress! It’s more of a beach coverup but we had just come from the beach so it worked 😉  I love the playful length of it so it works great for the beach or grabbing lunch. Love pieces that do double duty, especially for traveling! It’s such a great price point too.

We hiked Runyon canyon (my first time) Cody’s been a couple times,  and it was so cool to get a different view of the city! It was a little smoggy so you couldn’t see everything – I want to do it again next time we go to get the full views!

I guess I’m on a bandeau bikini kick! I was obsessed with this one the second I saw it! Blues are one of my favorite colors for this season. I love the bright blue shade of this one and the ruffles make it feel super unique. Also, headbands! I’ve been wearing them non-stop lately. They are such a fun detail to add to a spring look. Also what do you think of Cody wearing my sunglasses lol. He always forgets his and ends up wearing some of mine. These ones aren’t bad but sometimes I only have really girly ones and he still wears them lol.

It rained a couple of the days we were down there 🙁 We were hoping for a little warmer weather. So when we couldn’t hit the beach we biked around the city – one of the hotels we were at let you rent bikes for free for a couple hours so everyone got to ride. I had just got this cute  blush windbreaker under $100, so I was excited to bust it out with the cooler weather on the trip :).

Even on the colder days we had to check the beach to see if the weather was bearable. I snapped this shot of Cody and loved how it turned out! We’ve been doing all our own pics lately, we used to do about 50/50 and I’ve just been so excited to be a little more creative and shoot our own stuff. Even on a cloudy day, the beach is so stunning! And this beach was close to the airport in San Diego so planes fly over every like 15 minutes its so cool!!

Haha ok I’m realizing a trend now – does California bring out anyone else’s love of bright, bold pieces? I saw this crochet two piece combo and was obsessed. Definitely a statement piece and so much fun to wear! And your probably wondering where Mara and Wes were in these last couple pics – people get so weird if they don’t see them in every picture – they were off getting donuts with their cousins while we said goodbye to the beach 🙂 Whenever we travel with family all the kids – Beckam included  love playing with their cousins so much I feel like we have to drag them away to hang out with us. Anyone else have this problem 😉

Happy Friday guys!! We are in California for the kids’ spring break. One of my favorite parts of Southern California is all the flowers! I swear, every other corner is more picture perfect than the next. It’s supposed to rain all weekend back in Salt Lake City so I’m soaking up every minute of sunshine before we head home. It was the perfect chance to get to pull out some of my new spring pieces. Obsessed with this top from my friend Chriselle’s collection at Nordstrom – so cute and under $100! It has pants that go with it to make the cutest set!! I also got these sandals in multiple colors. They are perfect for spring and also under $100. Below are a few more of favorite spring buys:

Happy Wednesday! Whenever I travel I love bringing pieces that I can style in multiple ways to make the most of every inch of suitcase space.  This Gucci Tee is a major favorite of mine right now, and I love that there are so many different ways to style it – you can never go wrong with a graphic tee! For a more classic style I added this navy blue blazer t0 make it perfect for a lunch date in the city. These trousers are amazing, and look so good with the top tucked to show off the cute belt detailing (plus they are under $55). Also obsessed with these sunglasses! I got so many questions on them and you guys were shocked they were under $10. I loved them so much I got them in multiple colors. For a more casual vibe, I switched out the blazer for a bold windbreaker – love the bright red accent it brought to the outfit paired with with these red booties  (such a good statement shoe and under $100!). I know a Gucci tee is an investment but it’s one of those pieces where the longer you have it, the better it gets and years from now it will still be one of your favorite tees.

Below are a few more graphic tees I’m loving at all budgets:
