Hey guys! Another quick post today. We’ve been traveling back to back this last week so now we are catching up on family time now and unwinding a bit.

Boyfriend tops are one of my favorite pieces. I’ve been wearing this men’s henley non-stop recently. It’s so comfortable plus you can add a feminine balance with a statement handbag and a pair or heeled sandals.

Add a statement necklace to dress it up (love this one for an edgy effect) or wear it without for a simpler look. When I’m torn between going for a minimalist look and amping it up with a necklace, I snap a couple selfies to help me decide. Sometimes a different perspective is all you need. 😉

DETAILS: GREY HEATHERED TANK || DISTRESSED DENIM || GOLD BALL NECKLACE (ON SALE FOR $1.99) | GOLD BAR BRACELET (UNDER $5) || KNUCKLE RING SET (UNDER $10)

ILY is having a big sale this weekend with pieces up to 80% off. I love this dainty bar bracelet pictured above and this colorful beaded necklace.

If you missed it, Cody’s sharing his favorites from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale here.

Fall Favorites On Sale

Fall-Hello-Fashion

LOOK I – DETAILS : BLUE OVERSIZED COAT || WHITE ASYMMETRIC SWEATER || OLIVE JOGGERS (UNDER $40) || NIKE SNEAKERS || FRINGE BAG || GREY HAT || SILVER EAR CRAWLERS || PINK LIPSTICK || SILVER WATCH

I was browsing through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale again this week and I am honestly excited that there are still so many great options this late in the sale! It ends this weekend though and usually the last couple days there is limited selection and sizes so don’t wait too long ;). Here are a few more looks I put together, all with pieces from the sale.

  • I love the oversized boxy coats for fall and winter. Not only are the cozy but they are also ideal for layering.
  • I just ordered this pair of joggers under $40 in 2 colors (4 colors to choose from) and can’t wait to get them. Love joggers as another alternative to jeans.
  • A felt hat is a must for fall. Love this grey one to go with anything.

Fall-Style-Hello-Fashion

LOOK II – DETAILS : BROWN OVERSIZED COAT || WHITE KNIT TOP || DENIM || MARSALA CROSSBODY BAG || BLACK WATCH || NUDE SNAKESKIN FLATS || NUDE LIPSTICK || CRYSTAL GEO STUDS

  • Marsala is such a beautiful color and I’ve been so excited to incorporate it more into my wardrobe this fall – this marsala crossbody bag would be a great piece.
  • I’ve been having a moment with flats lately – especially nude flats and the snakeskin texture. This pair is perfect.
  • And of course I can’t browse a sale without a peek at the watch section. Love this black boyfriend style and this sleek silver oversized watch.

What are some of your favorites? See more of mine in this post and below.

Hey guys! Quick post today! Sharing a few snaps from a couple weeks ago out and about with my little guy. I’m obsessed with his little hoodie (it’s on sale too). I love all the tropical and leaf print stuff they have out right now for kids and adults.

Cody and I are down in Florida shooting a commercial with the NFL and Majestic athletics the next couple days. This is my second time away from B overnight and I’m missing him like crazy, but he’s having fun getting spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa 🙂

I’m really excited to share more from this project but you can see our behind the scenes on my snapchat: @hellofashblog 🙂

During the hot summer days jeans are the last thing on my mind, but when the temperatures start to drop at night, dressing up jeans with some lightweight layers is a great option for a casual date night. I always love finding versatile neutral pieces knowing I can wear them with anything, so I couldn’t help but grab this blouse (over 50% off) from Nordstrom Rack when I found it (comes in 4 other colors). I also love the feminine cap sleeve – it’s a great detail to add to the basic tees and tanks. (Also love the back cut-out on this top.) I also picked up another pair of gladiator sandals. I love these because they zip in the back unlike some of my lace up sandals so it makes life easier when I’m in a hurry to get ready or when I’m holding B. Loving all these bright colored options and love this tall neutral pair.

Basic layers for guys are always a great option for a casual date look, too. Sometimes comfortable layers are just want you need to help you relax and unwind after a long week. Especially love how Cody paired the basics with joggers to keep the look more interesting.

DETAILS: MINT DRESS (SIMILAR 33% OFF HERE) | LIPSTICK (SHADE: CANDY YUM YUM) || BECKAM’S LION ONSIE

I think this was one of my favorite shoots simply because I thought there was no way the pictures were going to turn out. I got held up finishing another shoot in Salt Lake until 8pm and it’s an hour and half drive to the Lavender Fields. Sunset was at 9:08 so I arrived in the dark. I almost turned around half way because I knew there was no way I would make it in time, but it was the last day they had it available before they harvested the lavender and I had been waiting weeks to go!

I got there around 9:20 and it was already dark. We shined our head lights on the field hoping to create some sort of light in hopes we could maybe get one good shot. I roamed through the fields bare foot as a storm rolled in, the wind was howling and a gorgeous thunderstorm behind the mountains lit up the night sky (don’t worry it was far far away so we weren’t in any danger). It felt like a scene from a movie. We literally shot these in 10-15 minutes before it started pouring rain and we ran to the car drenched! I was so excited when I got the pictures back to see so many had turned out (Emmy is amazing!). It was a magical few minutes in the fields, but I’m so bummed I didn’t get to spend more time there. I can’t wait to go back next year and really enjoy its beauty!

6 Beauty Essentials For Girls on the Go

DETAILS:  ARMY GREEN BUTTON UP (ON SALE – WEARING SIZE XS) || DISTRESSED DENIM (SIMILAR HERE) || FRINGE SUEDE HEELS (ON SALE – UNDER A $100) || HAIR SERUM || GOLD CHAIN WATCH || SUNGLASSES (JUST GOT THIS PAIR) || NECKLACE (UNDER $30)

Whether you’re a busy working lady or a mom chasing three kids around, we can all relate to being a busy girl on the go. Probably one of my worst habits is being late! I’m usually always running 10 minutes behind. It’s gotten worse since I’ve had kids, but I’m definitely working on it! I’ve picked up a few tricks and essentials for those busy days on the go.

*Ditch the daily shampoo. I do not wash my hair every day and every hair dresser will tell you the same – don’t do it! This will save you a lot of time in the morning if you skip your daily wash. Your hair needs the natural oils that make your hair soft and give it shine. I usually wash my hair twice (three times max) a week.

* Be prepared! I always keep a makeup bag full of my essentials in my purse (or car if it doesn’t fit it in my purse that the day). Here’s what’s inside:whats inside my purse hello fashion

  1. Hair Ties and Bobbi Pins. I can’t survive with out them! I usually throw my hair in a messy bun or braid mid-day when it starts to get in my way.
  1. Hair Oil: I love this Nexxus New York Salon Care Oil Infinite infused with Babassu and Marula Oil, especially when I am in humidity or my hair is feeling dry! Some of you saw me raving about this on snapchat the other day. It’s my favorite quick fix for my crazy hair, whether I’m taming the waves and reducing the frizz to wear my hair down or embracing the messy look with a sloppy bun. This just smooths those loose fly-aways and adds moisture to your hair without feeling greasy. I use this stuff daily. I love it because you can use it on damp or dry hair. Tip: For dry hair use conservatively. A little goes a long way. For wet hair I use about 2-3 pumps prior to blow-drying my hair.nexxus hair
  1. Lipstick. Always makes you feel a little more put together! In the summer I love hot pink shades. This Marc Jacobs shade is my favorite or MAC Candy Yum Yum.lipstick
  1. Blush or Bronzer. Aside from lipstick and concealer, these are really the only makeup pieces I keep with me all the time. Whether you just got out of the pool or are feeling a little rundown, a touch of bronzer/blush on the cheeks gives some color to your face for that fresh sun-kissed look.
  1. Brighten up. My friend introduced me to this concealer a few months ago and I swear by it. It’s a little pricey but amazing and totally worth it.
  1. Sunglasses. Honestly I rarely do my eye makeup. I just don’t have time for it! Sunglasses are a girls best friend for those mornings you are still waking up or hiding those dark circles.

What are your favorite on-the-go products?

Late Night Musts

when in doubt vacation

hello fashion working

cofeemate nestle

hello fashion blog coffee

hello fashion blog shoes

ily couture mug

DETAILS. COFEEMATE CLASSIC VANILLA | WHEN IN DOUBT VACATION | I LOVE YOU A LATTE MUG | GOLD FLATWARE | DOTTED CHAIR

Whenever I pour a cup of coffee in preparation for a late night, it takes me back to good ole college days – I couldn’t have survived my college days without coffee and my favorite Coffee-Mate Classic Vanilla flavored creamer – I’m a lotsa creamer kind of girl 🙂

Whether you’re a mother, professional, or student, we all have those nights we have to stay up after the whole city seems to have gone to sleep. I’ve found it can be one of the most productive work times for me undistracted by the world around, so I wanted to put together a list of some musts for you other late night owls (and let’s face it – we’ll all be there at one point!).

  1. Quiet Workspace. A calm work environment is, in my opinion, one of the perks of working late at night. Without distractions you are already at an advantage. If you can’t stand the silence, turn on your favorite relaxing playlist.
  2. Bright bulbs. Light signals your brain to stay alert so a well-lit work space is a must to get your best work done late at night.
  3. Coffee. Need I say more? If you have leftover coffee from your late night long haul, pour your leftover coffee and creamer into an ice cube maker to make coffee ice cubes for a cold treat the next day. [Not a coffee drinker? Try mixing Coffee-Mate’s flavored creamers like Caramel Macchiato or Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookie with a tea latte or other hot drink.]
  4. Get comfortable. Crawl into a pair of cozy pajamas to work in comfort.
  5. Stable schedule. Sleeping in too long after a late night will throw your entire schedule out of whack. Wake up at your normal time the next morning to stay on track.
  6. Don’t sit still. Stretching or other quick exercises boost your heart rate and get your blood pumping again. I try to take a break every couple hours and just walk outside for some fresh air and reboot.

What are your favorite flavored creamers to dress up a cup of coffee?

CODY: WHITE LINEN BUTTON DOWN || NAVY JOGGER SHORTS || SUNGLASSES

BECKAM: SWIMSUIT (ON SALE!) || FLIP FLOPS

Cody and I would live next to the beach if we could so California is one of our favorite places to visit! It’s only an hour and half flight from Salt Lake, and you can usually find great deals on airfare so we try and go down there once a month or every other month. Our favorite area to stay is Laguna. The beach front next to the Montage feels like Mexico or Hawaii. The water is the pretty turquoise blue color and it has the soft sand beaches. It’s usually not very crowded either which is always nice!

Beckam is such a little beach boy. It’s one of the few places he is content for an endless amount of time (since he’s started walking he gets into everything). He screams every time we run him through the water with the cutest high pitched giggle and loves to dig and play with the sand. The last couple weeks he’s gotten into this climbing and jumping stage. He will run and jump on the most random things, a pillow, his blanket, the dog, whatever. Well this weekend Cody and I had a big pile of sand going, we were building a sand castle to block the waves and B took a running start to jump on it and face planted into our huge pile of sand. He had sand EVERYWHERE. He was laughing and thought it was hilarious but poor little dude had sand coming out his nose for the next couple days. He is all boy!

I’ve always loved the look of one piece swimsuits, but have a hard time finding them because I have a long torso the cups of the top usually don’t make it to my chest. So I’m always trying them on every store I go to hoping to find the magic one that will fit and I finally did! I saw this one on sale and thought I’d give it a try and it fit! I was so excited. I loved the color and it was such a good price, under $30, plus you can get an extra 30% off the sale price (online only) CODE: JACKPOT. We hit the beach early so it was still a little cooler so I wore this lightweight linen top over it until it warmed up. I also got this striped pocket pullover (on sale under $20)  you may have saw on my snapchat that I wore to the beach a different day and these striped sandals I got on sale too (under $15 with CODE: JACKPOT). It’s safe to say I have an addiction to stripes 🙂

Hope you all are having a great week! Thanks for reading!

3 Neutrals Every Girl Should Own

neutral-look-hello-fashion-blog

DETAILS: GREY TEE || DISTRESSED DENIM || BEIGE OVERSIZED CARDIGAN || SUNGLASSES (UNDER $40) || GREY CHLOE HANDBAG || CREAM BRALET || GOLD WATCH (ON SALE) || GOLD PYTHON PHONE CASE || NUDE LIPSTICK (SHADE: NUDE 120) || NUDE NAIL POLISH (SHADE: SHIFTING SANDS) || SNAKE-PRINT SANDALS (SIMILAR HERE)

Seasons come and go but neutrals are forever. I’m always drawn to classic looks that combine greys and nudes and a look mixing both neutrals is anything but boring. Build on your basics with different textures (like knits, lace, and metallics) and neutral prints (animal prints and stripes are always a good choice).

Above is a look with a few 3 neutrals pieces every girl should own.

1.)lacy bralet: I believe every girl should own a lacey bralet. There’s something about wearing something sexy underneath a basic tee even (especially?) if you’re the only one in on the secret.

2.) A designer bag: When it comes to investment pieces, think timeless and neutral. This grey designer bag one piece that will get a lot of wear with any outfit from summer to winter.

3.) A nude nail polish: Not only is a nude manicure arguably one of the most classic nail colors, it also goes with anything. There are so many shades of nude nail polishes out there that it’s impossible to test them all but don’t let that stop you from trying. 😉

Below are a few more of my favorite neutral pieces.

If you follow me on Instagram you probably heard Wednesday was really the only day I got ready this week. The truth is sometimes you just need a break from getting dressed up or getting ready for the day. It makes the times you do get dressed up more exciting! It’s like after having a bad hair day 3 days in a row, by the 4th day, even just a decent hair day looks amazing, right? 🙂

After a few days of living in no make up, sweats, and muscle tanks, I can’t wait for an occasion to get dressed up. This dress is one of my all-time favorites. I love the contrast of the neutral tones with the embellished beading. Adding a delicate heeled sandal finishes the understated, feminine look perfectly. (I’ve gotten a lot of questions on these heels. I’ve only had them a few weeks but I have already worn them with everything from the pink pleated dress in this post to distressed boyfriend jeans.)

Today I’m starting a ’10 things’ mini series. Over the next couple weeks I’ll be sharing 10 things you didn’t about me on various topics from my career to the family to my personal life to give you a closer look at the girl behind the curtain. 😉

Is blogging your full time job?

Yes and no. I work over 40 hours a week on my blog but I also manage our company ILY COUTURE and work full time there as well.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?

Be more organized.

Did you go to college and what did you study?

I graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelors in Fine Arts and a minor in Business. If I could give any piece of advice about college it would be study abroad. I studied in Florence, Italy for 6 months and it was a life changing experience!

What is your nationality?

I’m Colombian. I was born in Bogota, Colombia. My dad was in the Marines and met my mom there. My mom is full Colombian and my dad is American. I moved to the US when I was one. All my family on my mom’s side still lives in Colombia. It is at the top of my travel list to get back there and see my family.

If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?

How I am going to die. I don’t know why but I am really scared of death. It freaks me out.

Do you have insecurities, if so what are they?

My legs. I have been teased about my “chicken legs” since I was in middle school. I hated wearing shorts. I played basketball from Kindergarten through high school so I had to wear them consistently for game days. I would always dread it because I knew I would  get teased. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized everyone has little insecurities and things they wish they could change. But in the end it’s what makes us unique and special. Own it and love your body the way you are 🙂

Your house catches fire, after saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?

B’s baby/memory book. Cody and I have written down our favorite memory with him each month since he’s been born. It has become a family diary and I would be so upset to lose that.

Best piece of advice you’ve got from someone?

I love quotes and motivational books! Probably one of favorite quotes that my husband showed me was: “You are only going to be as good as the people you surround yourself with. Be brave enough to let go of the people weighing you down.” I think friends have such a huge impact on who you are. Surround yourself with people positive people, who motivate you and make you a better person.

What’s an embarrassing style/hair/ or makeup habit?

I totally get a lady-stache. I have super dark hair (naturally) so I get dark hair above my lip and if I don’t wax it weekly you might get me confused for a man 🙂 jk, but really I have to maintain it weekly and if we are being completely honest since I’ve had kids I’ve started getting a couple chin hairs too. Its so gross!

Are you married? kids? family?

I’ve been married for almost 4 years, and I have three kids. Two are my step kids (Mara and Wes) and one is my biological son (Beckam). We have Mara and Wes part time which is why you don’t see them in all my pictures 🙂 A lot of you have asked for a post about being a stepmom and having a blended family. I promise it’s coming soon. It’s such a sensitive subject. It seems people are pretty passionate about it one way or the other so I want to make sure I get all my thoughts in order 🙂

I’ll be sharing more over the next couple weeks, if there is something in particular you want to know more about let me know. I love connecting with you guys and want to share more to make this a more personal space. Thanks so much for reading!

Don’t miss Cody’s post featuring more of today’s look and sharing alternatives to traditional oxford shoes.

Shirt Dress

STRIPE SHIRT DRESS

STRIPED SHIRT DRESS (ON SALE 40% OFF! – ALSO LOVING THIS ONE UNDER $30) | BLUSH LACE UP SANDALS | PINK BUCKET BAG | SUNGLASSES | TASSEL NECKLACE

Of course my love of stripes comes as no surprise, but this shirt dress is a slightly different take on a classic bold stripe. There’s something so feminine about wearing an oversized men’s button down shirt but since you might not be able to leave the house wearing just your S/O’s dress shirt, steal the look and the same effect with a shirt dress. I love the contrast of the subtle vertical stripe and long sleeves with a flirty hem length. Pair it with blush tones and gladiator sandals for a perfect summer look or trade in your sandals for heels for an irresistible date night ensemble.
