My Favorite Skincare Gift Sets On Sale

One of my favorite skincare brands is running a sale on some of their best selling items/gift sets! So I had to share because these RARELY go on sale! If you ask anyone their favorite Kiehl’s product, chances are they will have an answer haha. I have two go to’s that I have been using for years, but wanted to share some of my fams favorites too! My makeup artist Marissa, got me hooked on the Ultra Cream, she always puts in on my face before she starts my makeup and the Midnight Revocery Oil is sooo good! (more below).

MY PICK: KIEHL’S MIDNIGHT RECOVERY CONCENTRATE (ON SALE 25% OFF)

I’m obsessed with the heavy-hitting skincare products like serums and all things anti-aging, so my pick is this cult-favorite: their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It has over 1k reviews and 4.5+ stars so I know I’m not the only one who loves it. You put it on at night and wake up feeling like you just had a facial – it has lavender, squalane, and primrose so it also smells amaaaazing. It also lasts forever since a tiny pump goes a long way. You can also get it in a holiday kit for 25% off with the matching cleansing oil, the Ultra Facial Cream (mentioned above) and more. Let me know what you guys think of it! I also just got this energizing face mask after hearing rave reviews. It was my first time using tumeric in skincare (at least that I can remember haha). Great for a brightening mask!

KIEHL’S LIP BALM

Winter is always so hard on the skin, and the kids are washing their hands 100x times a day, it’s a whole new level of dry right now. So I always make sure Beckam has 3 things in his backpack: hand sanitizer, hand lotion, and lip balm. The kids love the Kiehl’s mint flavor and it’s full of Vitamin E to keep your lips protected from the cold weather. Nordstrom has this cute holiday set right nowthat has three full size lip balms (one for Mara, Wes, and Beckam 🙂 Great stocking stuffers if you can wait that long but also just a good winter essential for everyone.

KIEHL’S HAND SALVE

My mom’s favorite Kiehl’s product is their hand salve. It has almost 500 reviews on Nordstrom alone and almost 5 stars. Definitely one of their holy grail products, so if you haven’t tried it yet, you have to! They also have it in a little holiday set with a lavender and grapefruit sent. These would also be great neighbor/coworker gifts. They smell so good and are super rich and creamy.

MY MAKEUP ARTIST’S PICK: KIEHL’S ULTRA FACIAL CREAM

My makeup artist’s first step when she does my makeup, without fail, is to apply Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. The best start to a good makeup look is good skin and this Kiehl’s moisturizer is her favorite – it’s hydrating for 24 hours and super lightweight so it makes for the best base. Nordstrom has it in this cute holiday kit (+ their best-selling avocado eye treatment) for 25% off right now or there’s this trial-sized starter kit under $20.

Hope you guys are having a good weekend! We have been running errands getting little things to get our house ready for the holidays! I know it’s been a busy weekend of shopping and sales, so I wanted to share some more budget-friendly gift ideas. Mara and I got these matching puffer coats – they have a sherpa-lining and are super cozy. Love the zipper detail! They also come in a pretty bright red and navy and are usually $200+ but on sale right now for $60 at Zulily.

You guys know Zulily is one of my main partners this season and I’m even blown away by all the different product they have. They run flash deals for a limited time with huge brands – UGG, Free People, etc. They also have some big brands that they have consistently like Levi’s, Lego, Melissa and Doug. I’ll share some of my favorites further down, but their prices are so affordable. (They have a ‘Best Price Promise’ on some of their prices basically promising you won’t find it at any other retailer else for less. So a lot of toys are even cheaper than amazon!)

Right now they have a Free People event (ends in 2 days!) You guys know I’m obsessed – this sweater and denim jacket are both 50% right now and prices are going quick. Also these slippers are under $15 right now – love the shearling! This beanie is also super cute. Love the multi-colored stitching that makes it feel a lot more expensive. Couldn’t believe it’s under $20!

Zulily is a jackpot for kids toys. Seriously, they have everything you can imagine. I love this cute magnetic map and this giraffe rocker! Adorable! This croquet set would also be so fun for the family (under $40).

Levi’s is a go to family brand. I love this trucker jacket (Cody has one almost identical) and this sherpa bomber – both are 60% off right now! Their tees are also under $10. That’s like 30% cheaper than I’ve seen at any other retailer sites or sales. It’s the perfect way to stock up on some good graphic tees for you, your S/O, or your kids and it’s a great brand you know they’ll love to wear.

Zulily also has lots of LEGO sets. My kids are all obsessed with LEGO sets and I love that it’s an activity they can work on together. I get them a LEGO set every year for Christmas and love these! Give me all the home decor! After spending the year at home more, we are all starting to appreciate some of the little luxuries at home. Our espresso machine is definitely more of a splurge, but would be an amazing luxe gift for someone on your list – it’s also on sale right now! I’m also a sucker for all things Smeg. How pretty is this toaster?? MY FAVES UNDER $50

For your BFF, mom, sister… think of things you’ve tried and love! You can’t go wrong. These are some of my favorites from this year under $50. I just recently got this lip-quench duo. The colors are so good and it comes with 2 full-sized colors so you can also split up for stocking stuffers. This quilted puffer is so good and comes in multiple colors I have had it for 2 years and they bring it back every year! It’s on sale right now (along with everything else at H&M! 30% off so run don’t walk haha, sizes always sell out fast on their site when they are running deals!) I also ordered more of these shorts. They are my most-owned product – I think I’ve bought them in like 8 colors. They are super high-waisted and sooooo comfortable. I also have these ribbed bralettes in multiple colors. They are under $15 but really comfortable and make great stocking stuffers.

TEACHERS GIFT GUIDE

I posted on stories to poll teachers and find out what gifts they actually want during the holidays and they had so many good ideas! A few things they mentioned they get a ton of and can’t possibly use them all: mugs, ornaments, and chocolates. A plant for their classroom that students can help care for, a new book to add to their class library (also mentioned games for the classroom as a good idea), personalized office supplies (love these pencils or this cute teacher stationery!) But hands down the most requested answer was wine and gift cards. I was also surprised many said they would love wine – this cute wine subscription box would be the gift that keeps on giving. (Or you could order for yourself and split up others as gifts this season.) And of course you can’t go wrong with gift cards. Anything for shopping, Starbucks, a local spa/massage, even a few mentioned for grocery stores. They said anything personalized for the classroom they love too! I thought this stationary is so cute and would be awesome to put their name on it so they can write noes 🙂 And if you aren’t doing teacher gifts this year, never under estimate a hand-written note from your kids. So many teachers responded how much they treasure those hand-written notes and save them for years!

FITNESS GIFTS FOR HER

Usually by Jan 1st we are all hitting the gym hard working on our New Year’s resolution, but with things a little different this year, think about ways to bring the gym to her this year when it comes to your fitness-obsessed friends. This bala power ring gets amazing reviews and is supposed to help you get the most out of every workout. You also can’t go wrong with a pretty yoga mat or something for recovery (love the idea of this vibrating massage ball!) I also discovered this fasciablaster device online after reading rave reviews – I haven’t tried it but I’m in awe at how good everyone says it is. And of course, the Fast and Frees. Is anyone else’s S/O obseeeessed with Nike? I think I could put solely gifts from Nike under the tree and Cody wouldn’t even notice haha. They have so many cool pieces right now and the best part is you know you’ll be able to wear them forever. I had Cody approve my picks and he said HE LOVES them. He loved these labeled basketball shorts they are reversible, and this graphic pair for more of a street style vibe. Also this sweatshirt and jogger set is so good – love the color. A duffel bag is another great gift ideas and this one has a cool vintage vibe and is under $50. You also can’t go wrong with Nikes – either a cool pair of Air Force 1s or Cody has these high-tops and loves them.

GRANDPARENTS GIFT GUIDE

Whether you’re shopping for your grandparents or your kids’ grandparents, I feel like the sentimental gifts are always a huge hit. I love these customizable puzzles you can get with a picture of your family, rings you can have engraved with grandkids’ names, or this cutting board engraved with a favorite family recipe. Also found this cute ‘My Story’ prompt book for them to document some of their life stories or this ‘What makes you grand’ book you can fill out from their grandkids – so sweet! A few other ideas they might love/need – a tile (bluetooth tracker) to stick in their wallet or add to their keychain so they can ping it if they ever lose it. Also a Fitbit isn’t just about counting steps – this one tracks some great health metrics too so they can keep a closer eye on their health.

SPLURGE PARENTS GIFT GUIDE

Black Friday sales are the best way to splurge on your parents – you can save on big-ticket items and they can’t object since it was on such major sale haha. Cody and I use massage guns all the time and this one is such a good price right now. I’ve also seen so many people rave about cordless vacuums – apparently they are a game changer. This one is 40% off right now and the Roomba is 50% off. Also love this cute waffle cone maker!

COLLEGE GIRLS GIFT GUIDE

Love these cute peach prints! UO has so many cute bathroom pieces right now – they are also just a good destination for teens/college age in general. (Also they’re running 20% off right now for rewards members!) These Airmax sneakers are so fun – for teens/college, you can’t go wrong with color and tie-dye. This table-top ping pong is such a fun gift idea and one of the big trending items this year are these skin-care mini-fridges so if you are shopping for any beauty-gurus, this one will be a home-run.

Mara wanted to put together a few teen girl gift ideas so these are all teen-approved! How cute are her picks! Love this DIY gel kit and this cute ice cream puzzle (under $20)! This photo printer is such a great idea too.

Mara also helped me round up some stocking stuffer ideas. One of my favorite finds were these mood color-changing charging cords. Such a cool idea! Popsockets are a guaranteed win, this one has lipgloss on the back of it too, and also anything Champion (need this beanie haha!)

UO GUYS GIFT GUIDE

If Tiktok is teaching you anything this year, it’s how big street style is right now. If you have any college age guys or high school teens, you can’t go wrong with this street style vibe. Cody helped me put together some younger guys gift guides (so many great gift ideas from UO for guys and girls – and if you’re a rewards member right now you can get 20% off your order!) These tie-dye joggers are so cool and I’ve never seen anything like this basketball (comes in lots of cool variations) – such a good idea! Also Cody is a big Kobe fan, so I thought this book was super cool for a guys apartment.

TEEN BOY GIFT GUIDE

Wes helped me pick out some ideas for guys around his age range – at his age they are starting to get into clothes and style, so it’s a great way to throw in some pieces or layers they need in addition to some of the cool toys. Love this camo sweat set and anything Vans or Stance socks makes for great gifts for teens/pre-teens. This glow-in-the-dark soccer ball was such a good find! Also love this airpods case – so cute! And record players are also great gift ideas for any teen. Wes is obsessed with legos and he was really excited about this 3D storm trooper.

PLAY KITCHEN ACCESSORY GIFTS

I knew I had to include a felt food set in this year’s gift guides. Ever since we got Mara’s kitchenette, the kids have loved playing together. All the cute felt foods are soooo much better than the little plastic, half-formed kitchen toys we had when I was growing up haha. The detail is unreal! These knit raspberries and eggs are adorable. Also the pasta is legit haha and dying over these cake pops! I feel like the detail makes playing even more magical so I love all the options! All are under $30 and these are small businesses, so I love supporting small businesses too!

KIDS 6-12 GIFT GUIDE

So many cute kids sets and gift ideas! We love activity sets, especially ones we can do together as a family. Such a great chance to unleash some creativity. This glow-in-the-dark rock painting kit is so cute and love this playfoam kit! My kids all love LEGOS so anything from LEGOS is always a hit too and this table-top foosball is another great idea (especially since you can put it away after haha).

BABY/MOM GIFT GUIDE

Baby’s first Christmas is the perfect chance to pull the trigger on baby essentials (we still wrap them and put them under the tree so Ollie has something to open :). These are some of my favorite baby products that we’ve used with Ollie. This travel crib is so light and insanely easy to assemble and this is the high chair we use and love. The tray is really large which I like. He’s outgrown the Snuggle Me Organic but it was 10000% one of our most used baby items. This play gym, was another favorite of Ollies and can’t recommend them enough! All of Lovevery stuff is sooo good! HIGH QUALITY pieces that you can keep for multiple kids. H&M is also 30% off right now so it’s a great time to stock up on some baby pieces – love this set!

BABY TOY GIFT GUIDE

Baby toys all on sale under $30! This is more of a gift guide if you have a niece or nephew you need to get a cute toy for. Everything is about sensory and development, so I wanted to put together some light up toys under $30 that would make great gifts. This zig zag tower is probably one of my favorites, its on sale for $16 and buy one get one half off 🙂 Ollie loves to drop things and watch them roll! Also not on here balls and remotes are his favorites too!

WINTER WARDROBE GIFT GUIDE

Last but not least, file this one under gift ideas that I’m actually getting for myself haha. Some of my favorite brands are having major sales right now so I took it as a sign to get some new pieces I had been eyeing. These boots are on sale 50% off right now – I also got these lace-up combat boots and these platform chelsea boots – also these gorgeous white boots which are on sale 20% off right now. It’s also a great time to stock up on layers – this quilted coat is on sale under $30 and this plaid wool coat is stunning. Lastly these faux leather pants I shared recently on insta but they are also 50% off right now! They run a little big so size down one size 🙂

20+ Things On My Holiday Checklist

One thing on my holiday checklist is getting new ornaments for the kids every year.

My parents are building a house this year so I got them these cute ornaments as a memory!

When I was a kid, my stepmom would always get me a new ornament every Christmas – something to represent my year, big milestones, hobbies, or whatever I was into at that point. We’ve continued the same tradition with our kids – both with new ornaments and painting/DIY our own ornaments. We dress up in matching holiday PJs and put up the trees. We have a tree we set up in the living room and then another kids’ tree with all the ornaments we’ve made and collected throughout the years and every year it’s like a walk down memory lane! My hope is when the kids grow up and have families of their own I’ll give them a special box of all their ornaments through the years. I will always treasure traditions passed down from generation to generation, but also love trying out new activities, so I wanted to put together a list of some holiday checklist with tradition ideas, old and new:

Evergreen or Flocked Christmas Trees?

It’s not even Thanksgiving yet and I already feel like I’m behind setting up for Christmas this year! I pulled out our tree the first of November but couldn’t decide between flocked or evergreen (and still haven’t haha!) The cult-beauty products you should be buying in pairs and why… Spoiler alert – they are all under $25.

Shape Tape Concealer: Does anyone still only use one shade of concealer? Once you find your favorite (the majority of beauty gurus agree that it’s this one), don’t buy just 1! Get 1 in your ‘winter’ concealer shade and a 2nd in your ‘tan’ tone. There’s nothing worse that a too dark or too light concealer. I’ve been using the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer for years – it’s amazing coverage and lasts all day, so you’re not worrying about touching up. It has more of a matte finish and a full coverage look. Another excuse to buy 2 – they are selling the travel-size concealer in a duo with the glow wand so it’s just $15 ($20 value). I used the glow wand ‘Aglow’ this look with the concealer light medium sand. Also their concealer brush is worth the hype. It’s 100% the best one I’ve had to date.

STOCK UP FOR STOCKING STUFFERS

Quench Lip Rescue Duo: The holidays are the perfect time to stock up on cult-beauty favorites. A lot of brands put together little combo/value sets for the holidays with some of their best-sellers for gifting. This Lip Rescue duo is one of them – it’s a $38 value on sale for $19 so you’re basically getting two lip shades for the price of one. It’s a great lip balm that comes in both a really pretty rosy pink and warm pink. It’s also super easy to reapply throughout the day since it’s more of a balm consistency (no mirror needed) and leaves your lips feeling super soft. It has a slight mint flavor to it and leaves your lips super hydrated. They are both full size so you can also split them up so your stocking stuffers go even further – your friends will love! Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara: Another sure-fire stocking stuffer – this mascara. It gets amazing reviews and the packaging alone feels like a present wrapped within another present. So cute!

Fake-Awake Eye Highlight: The eye highlighter is one of the best moves in every MUA’s handbook and best way to fake a good night’s sleep. This is a great gift if you aren’t sure what shade your BFF or sister in law is but want to share a favorite with her. This is also a great gift just to keep on hand for birthdays and holidays.

Cheek Palette: While we are on the subject of highlights, I used this cheek palette set and was blown away, especially by the highlighter. It’s technically over $25, but comes in three compact stacks with 3 colors each, so you can break it into 3 different sets to give out as gifts (under $15 each). I used the gold compact with shades ‘Let it glow’ and ‘I’m smitten’. They are soooo pretty in real life and also show up really well in pictures 10/10.

Adding Extra Magic to the Holidays

How cute is this vintage Disney sweater?

Pulling out all things Disney to add some extra magic to the holidays this year!

Aaaaand… finished!

Last winter after Ollie was born and we were spending more time at home, we got in the habit of doing a new puzzle together as a family every month. The dropping temperatures have helped revive that tradition and it made me realize how much I missed having a puzzle out to work on with the kids. I told Mara to pick one out and they chose this Disney one. It has three different puzzle piece sizes – small, medium, and large – so it’s actually designed for everyone in the family to be able to enjoy together. We also got this Marvel Monopoly game that we broke in last weekend with Mara and Wes – such a fun twist on a classic fave!

I have been dying to take Ollie to Disney for his first time (well he was in my belly the first time but that doesn’t really count ;). I ordered a few more Disney pieces to bring some of the magic home and create some of those early Disney moments until he can go in person. Honestly I think it will make his first visit to Disney even more special tying in all the memories from home. (Like these Mickey Mouse waffles for breakfast!)

They also had the cutest holiday mugs and plates! I let the kids pick outa set of holiday plates each year and I’m hoping when they are older they all take one to pass down to their kids. This year we went Disney with these matching cocoa mugs and dessert plates for each of them (this one for the boys and this one for Mara). I feel like they will be a holiday favorite every year when we pull them out! Also got this bowl-train set and can’t wait to use it for a Christmas party – maybe a hot cocoa bar with toppings or to hold sprinkles, etc for decorating sugar cookies.

1 Holiday Beauty Look to Rule Them All

My favorite holiday beauty look (and surprisingly easy to do!)

Life since Covid has made me a lot more of a minimal, bare-face type of a girl. But when I popped into Nordstrom to pick up my favorite holiday candle (swear by this one), I got super excited about all the holiday palettes. I got a few newb beauty cabinet additions and wanted to do a holiday beauty look. If there’s one product you neeeeeed it’s this stunning eyeshadow palette. So good! Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of products and you can see the tutorial here.

1. MOISTURIZER

The first step of any successful makeup look – good skin! It’s been a minute since I’ve shared my latest skincare routine and need to share an updated one, but one product that’s been a staple since I discovered it is this moisturizer. It is a splurge, but my skin has seen such a difference – it is worth every penny. It’s one of those skincare products that your skin starts to crave if it takes you too long to re-order after you finish a bottle.

2. EYESHADOW (HAPPY GLOW SHADES)

The holiday eyeshadow palettes out this year are sooooo good!! For this look, I used the ‘Happy Glow’ shades from this palette. The pigments so rich and beautiful and blend/build really well. I was shocked at how well some of the shimmer tones came through.

3. BROW POWDER & BROW GEL

These is my go-to for brows – been using them both for years. It stays all day and comes in so many shades – I’ve used the pencil and pomade but the powder is by far my fave!

4. PRIMER

If you aren’t using a primer, you’re doing your skin and your final makeup look a disservice. Not only does primer make for a beautiful base, it also helps prolong and preserve your makeup so it lasts all day, AND it acts as a barrier to keep products from clogging your pores. For this look, we used this cult favorite – it goes on so smooth and has a pretty mattifying, blurring effect so your foundation goes on super smooth.

5. FOUNDATION – SHADE 360 BISQUE (N)

I’ve been using this foundation for years. It lasts aaaaaall day! It’s a medium to full coverage and has a super velvety matte finish that make for the prettiest base for any beauty look. I have super sensitive skin that can get irritated with a lot of foundations, but I haven’t had a single issue with this one. Love the coverage!

6. HIGHLIGHTER

I love all things Benefit, my makeup artist got me hooked on this highlighter. This palette has multiple bronzers (I swear Hoola looks good on any skin tone!) – I used the ‘Cookie’ highlighter. It blends so well and it’s the prettiest tone that works so well with pink and tan undertones.

7. EYESHADOW (HAPPY GLOW SHADES)

I added a smudged eyeshadow under my eye using the same palette. Can’t wait to try the rest of the colors – the ‘Seduce Glow’ especially is so pretty! Also got this palette with more gorgeous holiday colors that are also subtle enough to use for an every-day beauty look.

8. LIP LINER

This lip liner is universal – it’s so pretty on EVERY skin tone! If you haven’t given in the obsession, do it. You won’t regret it!

9. LIP GLOSS (SHADE: HALLUCINATION)

I got this gloss a few weeks ago and have been wearing on repeat (last seen here). It’s the prettiest nude gloss and the perfect finishing touch to a full makeup look or you can wear it on its own with a fresh face.

10. SETTING SPRAY

Another cult favorite – if you haven’t tried a setting spray (especially this one) it’s a game changer! Not only does it help your makeup last all day, it also helps keep it from transferring to your clothes (or worse yet, your S/O’s clean white tee haha). Also got this stocking stuffer version!

Top off the perfect ‘no-makeup’ makeup look with your go-to gloss color. This is the prettiest pale subtle pink (love the creamy tone!) to brighten up a rosy, flushed makeup look – it’s a timeless lip trend!
