BECKAM’S OUTFIT.
The best part of weekends is the lax dress code. With no pressure to dress for any special occasion, I usually opt for oversized shirts, workout pants (these are my favorite), and comfortable shoes. I like to balance neutral black and white with a few pops of neon, which made this jacket an obvious choice, especially with the seasons starting to change. I usually get my other pops of color from a cute neon sports bras. They have a great collection here. Almost all our their bras are under $15, most are in the $8-$10 range. I like them because a lot of times they do unique cut outs with the straps or mix colors to make them more unique. I have this one (love the back detailing), this one, and this one. Somehow this laid back daytime combo leaves me feeling put together yet comfortable for family walks or last minute errands.
These Nike’s are one of Cody’s favorite shoes. The nice thing about the Nike Internationalist sneakers is they can be worn with a workout outfit or paired with jeans or dress shorts. A great universal shoe for the man in your life.

Home Sale Favorites

With Labor Day around the corner all the good sales are starting this week. I like to find staple pieces that I can use in any season like this open drape cardigan or this neutral color block bag. It’s also a great time to get home decor and furniture pieces. Cody and I are working on redoing our Living Room so I have been on the hunt for a good coffee table and some unique accent pieces. I’m loving this travertine marbled top one with the modern brass legs ($200 off right now) and I just ordered these gold accent lamps (40% off). Also in love with this leopard ottoman and this oversized print one.

Macy’s has some really great sales on Men’s stuff right now. Cody’s birthday is coming up so I ordered him these sale Nikes (under $80) and this jacket. You can get an extra 15-20% off if you use code DEALS at checkout.

Slim Boyfriend Jeans

DETAILS.

White Silk Blouse (true to size – size small) // Boyfriend Jeans (size 2) // Red Patent Heels (true to size) // Karen Walker Sunglasses // Marc Jacobs Bag (similar here) // Alex and Ani Bracelets // Pearl Necklace // Photos by JessaKae Photography

Boyfriend jeans are no new trend to the fashion game, but can sometimes be a tricky look to balance. Their loose fit threatens to mask femininity, but when balanced just right can look as ladylike as ever. Here are a few tips for giving your boyfriend jeans a touch of femininity:

1. All boyfriend jeans are not created equal – While I love the oversized look too, sometimes slimmer-cut boyfriend jeans are the perfect way to warm up to the trend. A happy medium between skinny jeans and oversized, this pair has a slimmer fit with slightly tapered ankles. It’s the best of both worlds: the true look and comfort of boyfriend jeans without sacrificing a feminine silhouette.

2. Dress up your boyfriend jeans –  Boyfriend jeans shouldn’t be saved for casual outfits only. The slimmer cut of these boyfriend jeans can make an outfit feel higher-end. Paired with a heel and feminine accessories, these boyfriend jeans are anything but masculine.

3. Every boyfriend jean deserves a chance – The best part of these slimmer-cut boyfriend jeans is the price tag. A successful pair of boyfriend jeans isn’t always the most expensive pair. Target’s extensive collection of jeans makes this trend available to every budget and every taste. From cut to color, you are bound to find something you will love.

Here are a few more styles I’m loving: this distressed pair and this high waisted light wash. You can find your personal style @targetstyle. For more tips on making your denim work for you, see my tips on perfecting your distressed denim here.
On a different note. A lot of you asked about this chair I posted on Instagram.  It’s now 50% off here

REPEAT

DETAILS.

Black Jumpsuit (also loving this sleeved black one) // Forever 21 Pink Blazer (old similar here & here) // Beaded Clutch // Pink Heels (similar here) // Crystal Bracelet // Karen Walker Sunglasses // NARS Lipgloss // Photos JessaKae Photography

Well it’s safe to say jumpsuits are one of my new favorite pieces to wear. For a nine to five work look try pairing it with a colored blazer for contrast. Both structured and boyfriend styles work great just depending on the look you are going for.

I just came across these leopard calf hair heels this weekend. How beautiful are they? Leopard is an easy neutral to pair with so many pieces in your closet. I can’t wait to remix this jumpsuit paired with those heels.

Heather by Bordeaux – (size small- similar here & here) // White Tank // Distressed Skinnies // Kate Spade Bag // Karen Walker Sunglasses // ILY Earrings // Crystal Bracelet // Gold Watch // Converse Sneakers // Photos by JessaKae Photography

We have had a few rainy days here in Utah and it feels so nice to bring back the light layers. I was so excited to find this Kate Spade bag on sale last week at Nordstrom Rack. It’s no secret I’m a sucker for anything bright, but the little stripe of navy around the base gives it that classic look against the flashy green. Cardigans and light weight sweaters are my favorite pieces to start stalking up on for fall. I’m loving this oversized drape front cardigan (50% off) and this navy stripe wool sweater (60% off).

Below are a few more favorites I found at the Rack:
These gorgeous grey Vince pumps (40% off) and these nude lace up stunners (70% off)

Have a great weekend!

Bloom Fresco Giveaway

OUTFIT DETAILS.
Oversized Sweater (size: medium – color: cream cloud) // Forever 21 Shorts (old similar here & here)
BECKAM.
Bloom Fresco Highchair // Bloom Seat Pad Harness Set // White Padded Snug (for infants under 6 months) //  Onesie // Apple Park Organic Stuffed Cow

Today I am excited to partner with bloom to bring you guys an amazing giveaway for one of my favorite baby products, the Fresco High Chair. If you saw my post last week I was talking about a few of my favorite baby items and this was at the top of my list. I saw this futuristic looking chair before I had Beckam and fell in love with the modern design.

The little pod the baby sits in can actually be reclined to lay all the way down, so it works as a basinet as well. It’s been nice having something mobile in the kitchen so he can lay by me while I’m cooking or doing dishes. It can swivel 360 degrees so you can face it any direction and has little wheels on the bottom so it is easy to roll wherever you go. The kids love having it at the table so B can have his “own spot” during meal time.

Follow the Rafflecopter links below for your chance to win the Bloom Highchair and Harness set. Giveaway ends next Friday at midnight. Good Luck!

Summer Favorites

DETAILS. Mint Ombre Dress (on sale! Also in love with this mint one & this one) // Neon Beaded Clutch // Prabal Gurung Heels (old similar here)
HOME PIECES. Grey Lounge Chair (old similar here & here) // Cynthia Rowley Pillow

Mint and neons are two of my favorite Summer colors to wear. This is my second beaded clutch from Nila Anthony. They are always the statement piece to an outfit, but I think my favorite piece from this look is this mint ombre dress, and it’s on sale for under $40.

DETAILS. Grey Oversized Sweater (went a size up to a medium for an oversized look) // Distressed Skinny Jeans (size 25 – runs true to size) // Grey Ankle Boots (run true to size) // Prada Handbag (budget friendly here) // ILY Pearl Necklace (on sale for $14)

Probably one of the most common emails and instagram questions I get is about sizing, so I am going to do my best to start sharing as much sizing info as possible on my looks so you have an idea how the items will fit you. I love when stores share what size the person in the photo is wearing, so I hope this will help you guys as well 🙂 I actually wore this look when we were in San Francisco. I was surprised how much cooler it was there then back home. This oversized sweater is so comfortable. I ordered it in all 3 colors. It’s a Fall must have for sure. Also this pearl necklace is on sale at ILY for only $14 right now, over 75% off.

MY OUTFIT. Green Oversized Blazer/Shawl (size small – also loving this one) // White Leith Tank // Necklace // Distressed Skinny Jeans (true to size) // Report Boots (old similar here) // Marc Jacobs Watch
KID’S OUTFIT. Beckam: Stripe Hoodie (sized up so it fits him longer) // Skinny Jeans (run a little big) // Shoes  Mara: Stripe Maxi Dress

When traveling I like to have comfortable layers. Seems like I’m always cold on the plane so I like to bring a light weight jacket to throw on. Beckam just grew out of all his newborn shoes, so these are the first ones I have gotten in his new size. How cute are they? I think baby shoes are my favorite baby item to buy.

DETAILS. Neon Orange Shorts (under $15 – size 6) // Nike Shoes (run a half size small – color: grey/green/mango) // Michael Kors Watch

The pieces that got the most wear this summer were hands down these shoes and shorts (full post on them here) I can’t get enough of the Internationalist sneakers.

DETAIL. 3 Tier Dainty Layered Necklace // Knot Bracelet Set // Gold Midi Ring Set // Grey Floppy Hat

I love the dainty layered look. I’m usually trying to stack my necklaces so they vary lengths, but a lot of times they are so close it’s harder to do. The one above is actually one necklace with three chains so it makes your stacking easy, love the varying shapes and chains.

DETAILS. Floral Dress (size small) // Mint Bag (old loving this under $60 here) // Pink Heels (true to size)

I feel like floral is the epitome of Summer. Everyone needs a good floral piece in their closet.

Trend To Try: Jumpsuits

DETAILS.

Pale Pink Jumpsuit // Christian Louboutin Heels // Karen Walker Sunglasses // Black Oversized Clutch // ILY Tres Sparkle Necklace
Photos by Jessakae Photography

I’ve been eyeing jumpsuits the last couple months and been anxious to try one. I saw this pale pink one with the sheer shoulders and knew it was the perfect one for my first time trying the trend. They are surprisingly more comfortable and versatile than I anticipated. After work I kicked off my heels and paired it with a tailored blazer and my gladiator sandals to give it a more laid back look for a family dinner. I’m dying over this perfectly tailored white lace one from Neiman Marcus but sadly out of my price range. Isn’t it gorgeous? Below are a few more favorites in a more affordable price range:

5 Months

Beckam is 5 months old today! Yesterday my husband and I were saying how he’s already starting to look like such a little boy. Time is just flying by. I wanted to do an update of some of the baby products we have been using as of late (you can see my newborn baby essentials here).

1. Fresco Bloom Highchair – This was probably one of the things I was most excited about. I saw this on a few blogs before I had Beckam and was really excited to get one. I love the modern futuristic look. You can recline it all the way back so they are horizontal laying down or sit them up. If you start using it before they are 6 months you will want to get this little snug to support their neck and back. The kids loving having it at the table so B can sit next to them while we eat instead of having him on our laps.

2. Bumbo – Beckam loves this. We take it outside with us when we are sitting on the patio, or I set it on the bathroom counter next to me while I’m putting on my makeup. It’s really lightweight so it’s easy to move around the house wherever we need it. They have so many cute colors here

(Bumbo // Patio Pillows – more sale ones here)
3. Basic White Onsies – If you follow me on Instagram you probably notice B wearing these in 80% of his pictures. When he was first born I got him ready in super cute outfits all the time, then at about 2 months I realized how fast he grows through his clothes and how easily they get ruined. Don’t get me wrong I still love to dress him up, but honestly 4 days out of the week this is all he wears during the day.

(White Onsie // My Outfit: AG Distressed Jeans – on sale // Diaper Bag // Boots – old similar here)
4. Activity Mat – Another one of his favorites. We always joke he’s the little running man. He kicks his legs like crazy when he’s laying on his back. I loved the piano at the end of this one. Every time he kicks a key it makes a noise and there is little toys that hang down for him to play with. I keep this one in my room so when I need a few minutes to get ready or take a shower I just lay the mat on my bed or on the bathroom floor and he’s entertained for about 15 minutes. Sometimes if I’m lucky I get 20-30, but usually it keeps his attention for more in the 15 minute range.

5. Diapers – I switch back and forth between the Honest diapers and these Pampers. We have tried multiple brands and these have had the best success with blowouts and avoiding leaks. The giraffe print on the Honest ones are my favorite! If I had a girl I would love these

(Giraffe Diapers // Neon Orange Shorts – mom essential under $15)

6. Wipes – My favorite wipes so far have been Huggies. I like the little texture on them it wipes up the bum better and I don’t have to use as many wipes. Surprisingly this is actually one of his favorite toys too lol. Because it crinkles so much when it moves he loves to play with the package.

7. Organic Farm Buddies – B started teething a couple weeks ago and I had a hard time finding some sort of toy to help alleviate the pain. I got one of these cute stuffed animals as a gift and I thought it would just make a cute stuffed animal, but the second I gave it to him he started gnawing on the legs and arms of the cow. It’s the perfect width for him to get his gums on it and bite down. All their animals are 100% organic, super soft and lightweight so they are easy to carry around. It’s become his favorite little toy, we take it everywhere with us.

8. Carrier – We have two different carriers. This one and this one. My husband overall prefers this one. I like it when we are hiking and stuff, but at home I prefer this one. I like it because it keeps B closer to my skin so it feels like I am still holding him. I also use this one going for basic walks or at my office when I need my hands and can’t carry him. I have the mint and grey stripe one

9. Body Wash – A couple months ago I did a post asking for your input on a good body wash. B was breaking out in all sorts of little rashes every time we gave him a bath. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and help! We tired a lot of them and ended up falling in love with this Honest Soap and this Noodle and Boo bar.  These have been the only two products that don’t make him breakout. I know every babies skin is different, but those have worked best for us.

Also a lot of you have been asking for tips on traveling with infants. I love the idea! I’m going to put together a post in the next couple weeks and share a few things I’ve learned from trial and error 🙂

Thanks so much for reading!

Perfecting Your Distressed Denim

DETAILS.
Fashion Code Tee // Target Slim Boyfriend Jeans (under $30 – ordered a size 2 fits true to size) // Pale Pink Heels // Karen Walker Sunglasses // Alex and Ani Bracelets // Celine Bag (not sold online similar here) // Photos by JessaKae Photography

I’m always a sucker for a good pair of distressed denim. It’s always the first pieces I’m drawn to when I look for jeans. I love the fit of these boyfriend jeans (under $30) because they slim down through the legs so they are not too oversized, and they are the perfect light wash. Seems like post baby I have been gravitating towards oversized pieces that are comfortable as a busy mom on the go.

I wanted to share a couple tips I’ve found for perfecting my distressed denim. The first thing I always do is over rip the slits. Especially at the knees, pull the rip all the way to the side seems. This helps give them that worn in look and makes it more comfortable for your knees so there is not stress against the threads. The second thing I’ve found is cuffing the bottom with a thin roll. Typically the inside of the denim is a different color so the roll will create contrast against the regular wash on the outside. If the jeans are oversized I try to create a thin sleek roll to offset the baggy style. This is key if you are wearing heels, the polished roll helps tie in the heels.
