The Ultimate Girl-On-The Go Wardrobe Weapon

One of the most versatile pieces in anyone’s closet, hands down, is a good blazer. It’s the ultimate girl-on-the-go wardrobe weapon. They make the perfect layer to keep in your car/on hand so you can polish off your jeans and tee at a moments notice for a last minute meeting. (I’m the same with heels – I always have a pair in the car, just in case!) Not only do they work for any season, you can also transition them for any occasion. I also love the look of belting a long, oversized blazer and wearing it as a dress – the perfect balance of feminine meets masculine – or buttoned over a pair of matching biker shorts for a monochromatic look. Honestly the possibilities are endless! I love this blush option under $100 (it has the prettiest lining!) and these matching pants are gorgeous! This fringe umbrella is another one of the pieces I picked out for our back patio. I love the fringe detailing and it’s the perfect piece to build the rest of your decor around! I also love the silhouette of this chair and I’ve had my eye on this one for a while – love the details on both! Add a striped tassel rug to break up the wood and bring in some pattern for a chic, balanced layout.

Such a proud mom moment last week at Beckam’s preschool graduation! I can’t believe he is starting K next year. I swear I just picture him at this toddler stage and I don’t want to admit he is growing up! But I love this age so much, he is such a FUNNY kid. If you guys caught the Instagram video I shared, Beckam said his favorite thing to do it hang out with mom and dad 😭😭😭 He was the only kid that said that (the other kids had super cute answers!!) and I don’t know if it was the pregnancy hormones but it definitely got me tearing up. He is so excited now to be able to go to school like Mara and Wes and have recess “like the cool kids!”

Here is the outfit I wore to the graduation. The dress is from my friend Aspyn’s shop she has super cute stuff and this dress is under $50! I love the length and fit!

The Easy Edit for All Your Summer Getaway Pictures

Hey hey! We launched this preset pack during our last trip to Hawaii and it is my go to edit for all our summer beach pics. I always get tons of questions on how I edit my travel pics, so I wanted to put together a blog post showing you some before and after’s with our Hawaii Preset Pack (on sale). I use these mobile presets for all of our beach trips. Scroll down to see some before and after shots and which presets I used for each.

PRESET: DIRECT SUN

Direct sunlight can be really harsh to shoot in, so it’s all about how you edit! This is my go to preset when I’m directly in the sunlight.

PRESET: OASIS I

This one is perfect to brighten up those beach shots and capture that beautiful teal water.

PRESET: OASIS II

Forget the shadows and brighten up the dark shots with this edit.

OASIS BRIGHT SUN:

Shooting in harsh light can make it impossible to capture true to color, so this one helps correct the harshness and brighten up those beautiful blues like you were there in person.

SUBTLE EDIT:

Some pics don’t need much of a filter – this one is perfect for just adding a subtle contrast and pop to your pictures.

How To Find the Perfect Personal Stylist

One of my favorite features of Stitch Fix is the detailed questionnaire they have you fill out for your profile – not only about sizing but all kinds of style questions to really help you find the right stylist who understands your style. There are also endless ‘Style Shuffles’ where you can give a thumbs up or thumbs down to specific pieces to help your stylist tailor your Fixes. It’s really all about having your stylist see the whole you, so he/she understands your style beyond just your sizing info.

After you sign up for Stitch Fix, it’s $20 for the service and then you can keep or return anything from the options that they send out. The returns are free and super easy – it comes with a pre-paid envelope bag to send back anything you don’t love. To check out, you just log in to your profile and select the items you want to keep to charge to your payment method. You can also give feedback on every single item you received, whether you loved/hated the fit, the style, the pattern, etc. Honestly that’s one of the biggest tips for finding the perfect stylist is to give them as much feedback as possible! That way your next Fix will be even better. You also have an option to stick with your same stylist or try a new one, so if you don’t love the pieces you received or feel like your stylist didn’t quite get your style, you are just one step closer to finding one who does. I am the biggest believer that adding ever just a few good pieces to your wardrobe can make a big difference. I just got these 4 pieces for spring (all under $50) and love them all as a little closet pick-me-up!

Neutrals are the best pieces for expanding your wardrobe on a budget, but don’t shy away from a bold red dress. This one under $50 and so easy to wear and transition for multiple occasions. (Also it’s not maternity, but the bandeau neckline makes it super flattering on any body type.) I also love this leopard print top that’s another neutral but it’s a subtle way to bring in a print. This woven tote is another great addition – I have so many tan and straw options, but this black one is a new favorite!

Sego Awards Gala

Happy Monday! This weekend Cody and I attended the Sego Awards (an award show in Utah honoring female founders and entrepreneurs). I was nominated for Best social media/ influencer and was so shocked and excited I won! It was such a beautiful night and I met so many amazing entrepreneurs, plus I always jump at any chance to get dressed up. The theme was Funky Formal so I was excited to find the perfect dress for the occasion. Keep scrolling to see my my options and thoughts on each!

OPTION #1 : GREY TULLE DRESS

I had to throw a neutral option in the mix, right? We ordered Cody a statement suit (which you’ll see further down) and I thought something simple like this grey dress would make the perfect pairing. I actually loved this option! The silhouette, the elegant off-the-shoulder sleeves, plus it’s a great budget-friendly option. It didn’t fit the funky formal theme as well though, so onto my next option!

DETAILS: RED RUFFLED DRESS

The ruffled dress of my dreams, this one was definitely a statement dress. The embellished detailing, the ruffles, the ombre tulle – what’s not to love?! The only problem was it clashed a bit with Cody’s suit options so it ended up in the no pile, but if I were going solo it might have been a close call.

DETAILS: OFF THE SHOULDER DRESS

This. Dress!!! The first thing that got me was the silhouette with the gorgeous flowy pleats and sleeves, but when I saw it in person the hand-dyed effect on the color was insane. Honestly such a breathtaking piece of art! One small problem… I couldn’t zip it up 😭 Pregnancy life!! I had sized up two sizes but underestimated how big my bump had gotten (especially in the evenings.) Still such an amazing dress and definitely one of my favorites.

DETAILS: PINK DRESS | CODY’S FLORAL SUIT COAT & TROUSERS

Neon and floral! When I heard the theme was funky formal, my first thought was neon so I was immediately drawn to this one by Leanne Marshall. I love the strap detailing and the hem line makes it flow beautifully. Here’s that statement suit for Cody I mentioned earlier. We found a ton of floral suit options here and I love how fun they are! Great for any upcoming summer events.

And the winners are…. this pink dress and this blue suit for Cody. I love how the colors play off each other for a really fresh vibe and they are perfect for the funky formal theme.

16 Decor Updates Your Home Is Begging For

Being on the hunt for finishing details for the house, I’m always finding a million more decor options than I have space for! I’m always drawn to neutrals for those core furniture pieces like this gorgeous sofa and this woven chair (also this grey rug and I’ve had this one for years, but it’s still one of my favorites!) Those smaller decor items are great ways to give a room an easy refresh for the season. I love the modern, marble detail on these table lamps and these pretty agate pieces! Another way to bring in some color is with cozy throws (can you ever have too many?!) or pretty trays – love this blue one. Another home detail that I’m converted to are woven baskets! My Favorite Non-Maternity [Turned Maternity] Dresses Under $50

How cute is Mio!? You can tell he knows what’s going on and he keeps rubbing his head on my belly. He’s excited to be a big brother again!

Hi guys! Now that I am officially in my second trimester I am pretty much giving up on jeans, haha. I find myself either wearing flowy pieces or bodycon pieces – both are so comfortable! I’ve gotten a ton of these fitted knit dresses (you’ve also seen my multiple times in this one under $20!) that are actually non-maternity, but I just size up 1-2 sizes (depending on the dress) so they fit (wearing a medium in this one). I love having comfy dresses that have some stretch to them so they accommodate the bump! You can wear them to the office under a blazer, to the grocery store with sneakers, or to date night with some pretty sandal heels. Love the detail on this one (under $25), and how pretty is this one? I also got this striped option that comes in 3 colors (under $20).
