One of the biggest things I’ve learned about fashion over the years is the importance of investing in your future wardrobe. Incorporating trends are always a great way to keep your look feeling fresh and updated, but it’s those classic pieces that you’ll wear forever that you want to invest in. They are the items worth saving up for that will last you for years to come.

Below are 5 winter-chic essentials that are sure to be those “forever” pieces:

  1. Leather leggings: I got this pair a couple years ago but they are still one of those pieces I pull out all the time during winter (similar style here). They are so warm and a perfect sleek finish to any cold weather look, plus they pair great with any style boot.
  2. Chic beanie: When have beanies ever NOT been a staple accessory for winter? It’s one accessory you’ll reach for every single year so don’t be afraid to splurge on one you love. I just got this one and this one and love the oversized pom on top!
  3. Leather gloves: This is another one of those winter accessories you know you’ll use year after year, so why not invest now in a pair that will last forever? I love this leather glove – you can get it in a neutral or classic color to be able to wear it with any of your bundled looks for years to come.
  4. Coat: I admit I’ve been on a bit of a coat kick lately, but there are so many different styles that it’s hard to choose just one. I found this cashmere wrap coat and instantly fell in love. It’s so soft and warm and a completely different look from anything else I own. It’s also available in similar styles in camel and black and they are all on sale right now up to 40% off.
  5. Neutral handbag: By the time I had finally saved up for my first investment handbag, I knew exactly what I was looking for: something I could use all day every. And believe me I did! 😉 I got a neutral bag so I could wear it with anything. I love this grey handbag because it works just as well in the spring and summer as it does during fall and winter. Also love it in this dark camel color which is another perfect neutral.

Below are a few more pieces that are a great investment in both your current and future wardrobe.

  1. Your post reminded me about how much I miss my “driving gloves.” They disappeared at an event last winter and I haven’t replaced them yet. Definitely going on my Christmas list.

  2. Defiantly agree with investing in those staple peices. I was buying way too much trendy peices and not those essential staple ones. I’ve learned my lesson. Btw you look so chic! Been following your IG forever!!

  3. I love this post so much and I SO glad you think a neutral handbag is an essential – I bought a neutral celine last week, when normally I would never dream of not getting black! this makes me feel much more reassured about my decision, haha!

  5. Way to wear fur! I love it and so many people are against it. there is nothing like real fur and there is nothing warmer. You look beautiful.

    1. really??? have you seen how these articles are made? I think you need to educate yourself as well. There is no need to wear fur when there are so many friendly alternatives. Grow a heart.

  6. Sigh. So disappointing to see you wearing and encouraging others to wear fur. Faux fur is just as fashionable and accessible. Educate yourself on the fur industry, gain empathy for animals and stop the glorification of animal pelts for “fashion”.

  7. I love your style, but having just seen that your fashion sense still encourages the use of natural fur and wool lines, I am a bit disappointed. I wish you would reconsider them and as done in other posts, use the faux versions. If you ever wonder how these articles are made, just google or youtube them, there are plenty of videos that show the cruel truth. These come from living creatures that feel every bit of pain as they are being stripped from their God given skin.
