Weekend dates usually consist of family time during the day and heading out at night leaving not a lot of time to revamp in between. I always opt for pieces that I know can transition easily and in the summer that usually means a comfortable flowy dress.

Dresses are easily one of the most versatile pieces a girl owns, making the transition from day to date a breeze. I love the watercolor print of this dress – the bright palette makes it perfect for the upcoming seasons and the chic cut is one that can read both casual or sophisticated depending on how you style it. Also love this bright print sheath dress and this popover dress, which is a great way to get the cropped top look without having to show skin. As a one piece, jumpsuits are another versatile piece that transitions seamlessly from day to night.

Paired with flats a dress is a great option for a day out with friends or family but swap your flats for heels and statement jewelry and you are ready for a night out. Not only do you get more wear out of your wardrobe by making a dress do double-duty, but you’re also basically guaranteed to be the one hearing “five more minutes” from your S/O as you are waiting by the door. 😉

Here are a few more of my favorite dresses that make the day to date night transition effortless.

Christine

  1. Just found your blog, your style is just incredible! Just was trying to hunt down this dress and wondering what size you might have ordered, if you don’t mind me asking. I’m 5’4 120lbs, so you can maybe offer a size suggestion if you would rather not tell me yours. : ) Thanks!
