One of our holiday traditions is going to look at the lights in the city. Sometimes it’s with the kids and other times we sneak away for a date night. They go all out at Temple Square – it’s seriously a must-see if you haven’t been there yet! It’s been soooo cold (I swear it feels like the days it doesn’t snow are colder that they days it does!) so you really have to bundle up so you can actually enjoy the lights and not be frozen the whole time haha. This season, I’ve partnered with Lucky Brand to perfect my holiday look.

Coziest jacket ever!

You can never have enough layers for those outdoor holiday date nights, from checking out the lights to window shopping. This white sherpa coat I got from Lucky Brand was crazy warm and I’m obsessed with how soft it is! I feel like I’m wrapped in a blanket. I also love this fringe plaid jacket for an extra layer and also to add some print to my look. Also don’t forget your beanie! Don’t forget your beanie! I’m obsessed with this one. It’s under $40 and I love the bright red – it’s perfect for feeling festive while looking at lights or just hanging out at home cuddled having hot cocoa.

With less than 3 weeks until Christmas (WHAT?!), the holiday parties are stacking up! I love this time of year and getting to spend it celebrating with friends, families, and really anyone you come in contact with haha. It’s also that busy season for ILY and the blog and a lot of industries so typically I’m running straight from work to parties. It’s all about picking pieces that work for both. Below are 5 pieces that can take you from work to any holiday party.

A Neutral Statement Top: Who says you have to wear red and green to every party this season? White is a timeless option and a little bit of detailing adds the perfect touch for the holidays. I got this ruffled top – the detail makes it look really high end but I actually got it for under $40 from Last Call Neiman Marcus. They had so many pretty detailed tops at good price points – I also love this similar style under $40 and this pretty lace-up ruffled top. Also obsessed with the neck detailing on this blouse!

Pretty Pumps: I wish pretty pumps were always synonymous with comfy pumps but let’s be real, that’s just not that case. I just got this illusion pair (under $100!) and they are SO comfortable and the heel height is really easy to be in all day.

A Good Clutch: Packing a pretty clutch for the night is probably the easiest and most effective accessory to transition your look from 9-to-5 to festive. I’m obsessed with the swan embellishment on this one (under $40)! It’s a statement piece that will spice up your look and it’s also a great chance to bring some color into your look.

A Festive Red Lip: What’s a holiday party look without a bold red lip!? Add a swipe of your favorite shade of lipstick for a more festive feel – plus after a long day at the office, who couldn’t use a little lipstick for an instant beauty refresher?

A Versatile Layer: I am OBSESSED with this puffer jacket. I love the casual vibe with the quilted texture but the length and pretty cowl neck means it can pass for dressier occasions too, so it’s a great versatile layer that can work for the office or holiday parties and anywhere in between.

Last Call has so many great pieces with such good details that can work for holiday festivities or just everyday. Below are a few more of my favorites and you can also see my holiday dressing guide for 4 different festive occasions here.

I’m a sucker for all things Christmas so I would end up taking anything holiday-related home with me if I didn’t hold myself to a specific theme I would go all out. I love the frosted look and also wanted to bring in some plaids and buffalo checks – almost all my ornaments are from Tai Pan Trading and a few are from Target. I love how it turned out!

I love the holidays! I feel like the decor makes our house feel so much more homey – I wish we could leave it up all year round! I  know lot of you guys have been asking about our tree. I got it at Tai Pan a couple years ago. It comes flocked and it’s probably my favorite part of christmas. We also got another flocked tree this year – a smaller one for the living room that the kids could decorate. It’s been a family tradition for the kids to make an ornament every year and also pick out an ornament that represents their favorite thing at that point. I love looking back at their ornaments every year and my hope is when they are older and married I will give them all their ornaments (If I can actually part with them 😉 )

I also love bringing in little seasonal accents throughout the rest of the house. We have slowly been redesigning our living room – I’m officially the worlds slowest interior designer! Almost everything is from High Fashion Home, the team is so amazing there (and patient with me because I am WAY TO INDECISIVE!!) I’ll get one or 2 pieces and then starting filling in the rest of the room really slowly because I have to visualize everything before I commit to something. I’ll do a full reveal when it’s all finished up! I’m obsessed with these white and gold chairs – the style comes in a darker fabric too but we did a custom order upholstery and I love how they turned out! I originally wanted to do a white couch but Cody laughed at me. We were scared of a white couch with kids, so they told me about this fabric that is supposed to be super stain resistent so I am trying it out on chairs so when we finish building our house if it’s still stain free I can convince Cody we can do the white couch ;). I also found these cute Noel pillows at Target last year (similar here) and love the look on the white chairs. Throw pillows are always a great way to bring in holiday accents. Also obsessed with these pillows. They are even more beautiful in real life. I love them because they work year round. The gold accent works great for holiday color schemes and for everyday decor. These deep navy velvet pillows are probably my favorite. Stay tuned for the full final reveal of the living room! Hopefully it doesn’t take me too much longer to decide on the last finishing touches. 🙂

1. With a moto jacket & joggers: There’s something about swapping our your jeans for joggers that gives you a little more freedom to bare some skin in a cropped sweater. The athleisure trend is all about cropped tops right now, so you can pull in that sporty vibe with joggers but still keep your look polished with a cozy cropped sweater and heels (this velvet pair last seen in this post). Throw on a moto jacket for a look you can take from day to date night.

2. Layered with a tee: Don’t cross cropped sweaters off your list just because you don’t want to bare your midriff! I’m obsessed with this cozy cropped turtleneck (on sale under $50). Layer it over a long tee to add some texture and dimension to your look or over a button-down and trousers for an office-ready outfit.

3. With all things high-waisted: When in doubt, just throw your cropped sweater over anything high-waisted. That peek-a-boo is the perfect balance when you are worried about baring too much but still want to show a little skin or layer a tight tank underneath to keep it conservative. I love this chunky turtleneck with this metallic pleated skirt (ON SALE UNDER $100) – such a cozy combo for the holidays! You can also layer it over your favorite bodycon or slip dresses this season for something equally feminine and flirty.

Below are a few more of my favorite ways to wear your cropped knits this season! Hope you guys all have a great weekend – can you believe it’s already December!?

6 Steps to Full Volume

hello fashion hair tutorial

DETAILS: T3 VOLUMIZING HOT ROLLERS LUXE | PLAID PJ SHIRT | GREEN SOCKS

BECKAM: GREEN PAJAMAS

If there’s one thing in common with all of my favorite hairstyles, it’s volume – from my go-to hairstyles like curls, braids, or messy buns to my everyday hair products, I’m always all about volume. I typically use one velcro curler when I’m blowdrying my hair to get a little more volume to frame my face, but I was excited to get a full sett of actual hot rollers to get that same volume everywhere that didn’t take forever to do. I’ll take every minute of hands-free hairstyling I can get.

Below is a step-by-step using my T3 volumizing hot rollers for a full volume loose curl hairstyle perfect for the holidays:

how to use hot rollers

1. I part as I go, but you can also part your hair off in sections before. Use thick sections that are the same width as the roller. I used thicker sections to get fuller loose waves instead of tighter curls. The smaller amount of hair you have the tighter the curl. I started with the top center section and worked back, then did the two framing the side of my face.

hot rollers tutorial

2. Starting about 1/2 way down the hair shaft, wrap you hair around the rollers. Leave 1-2 inches of the ends out to keep them straight so they aren’t tightly curled and give a looser and more relaxed feel.

tutorial for full bombshell volume

3. To get the look, I used the biggest rollers along the top of my head and framing my face. I used the smaller rollers for the back. I love how much volume it created, especially around the front where it created the perfect side swoop (it’s so hard to do without hot rollers!)

t3 voluminous heat rollers luxe

4. They say to leave the rollers in between 10-20 minutes. I have such thick hair with my extensions so I left mine in for 20 minutes but if you have thinner hair I would suggest leaving them in between 10-15. The higher the heat and smaller the section, the tighter your curl will be. There are two different heat settings so it works on thin or thick hair.

5. Go about the rest of your day while you wait! It was so nice to be hands free and able to make B breakfast, work on a last minute blog post, or whatever else is on my schedule while they set.

hello fashion hair tutorial at home

the trick to full volume hair

6. Remove and add some product to keep your waves in tact. I rarely use much hair spray, but it helps to do a really light weight hair spray if you have an event you want to keep the waves swept a certain way for. I wanted them to stay to the side so I lightly sprayed once I had them where I wanted them.

From now through December 30th you can also get two free 2-packs of extra rollers (1.5″ and 1.75″) with code: HFBROLLERS. You can also enter for a chance to win your own T3’s Volumizing Hot Rollers Luxe set by entering here between today and 12/15.
