Neutral Fashion Finds Under $100

A little confession guys…I might do a lot of online “window” shopping haha. This week I found some killer items for under $100 and they were just too good to keep to myself. 😉

First of all, you guys know I am loving all of the off the shoulder tops this season and this black top is the perfect excuse to jump on this trend. It’s absolutely gorgeous with all the lace and you can definitely dress it up or down with your favorite jeans.

All of these fun silicone cases are everywhere and this shark one is so cute. I also love this ice cream cone case too! For all of you working ladies #4 is the perfect top to take from the office to a casual dinner – I still can’t believe its under $15!

Platform Sandals Under a $100

I’m in love with these platform sandals – they are under a $100 and come in 4 colors I just ordered the blue and tan too.

Late post today – Cody and I stayed up until 3am binge watching Suits last night! It’s seriously so good you need to watch it if you don’t already! We haven’t stayed up that late in so long. I am still trying to wake up lol 🙂

This was one of my outfits from our trip last week. California is really like our second home. We go down almost once a month for work or to relax and no matter how many times we visit the palm trees still get me every time! We found this little side street with rows on rows of palms. I was like “Ahhh babe stop! Look how cool it is!” I love when we find unexpected places like this!

I got this tee (under $30) for a travel shirt for our trip and ended up wearing it as a pajama shirt, an everyday shirt and basically just lived in it. It’s seriously soooo soft and I love the color! I just ordered the white too because I loved it so much. And these pink platforms are my new favorite. You have seen them on my instagram 24-7, they are under a $100! and come in 4 colors. If you don’t have platform sandals for spring and summer they are for sure a closet staple and really comfortable to walk in (always a plus :). I also love these taupe ones under a $100.

5 Pieces to Get Festival Ready

Hey guys! We were in California last week and stopped by the cutest record shop. Cody just got a record player so we are picking out an album together everywhere we travel as a new memory. We are heading back to CA next weekend for Coachella and we can’t wait! It’s always been on my bucket list to go so I am so excited we are finally doing it. Do you guys have any tips for seeing all the shows? We’ve started putting our lists together and it’s crazy how many performers I don’t recognize until I google their name and realize I know half their songs. It’s too hard to choose which favorites to see! And don’t even get me started on the Ferris Wheel I don’t care how long the wait is – I’m going!

And of course what is festival season without festival fashion? 😉 This year it’s all about 90’s vibes and even if you won’t make it to Coachella this year, they are great pieces to add to your closet to keep your wardrobe feeling current and fresh. Below are 5 pieces to help you get festival-ready this season.

Bodysuits: Bodysuits are a flirty silhouette and perfect to wear with a feminine mini or with your distressed cut-offs for an easy, edgy look. I love the lace up detail on this one.

5 Easy Healthy Snacks

Hey guys! Hope you are having a great weekend! I wanted to share a few great healthy snack recipes – some that are family favorites and some that I am anxious to try. Keep reading for a round up on some of the best healthy homemade snacks I’ve found on Pinterest.

DARK CHOCOLATE SEA SALT ALMONDS

| Makes: 1.5 cups |

Ingredients:

6 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet high quality chocolate
1 and 1/2 cups Diamond of California whole almonds (raw and unsalted)
sea salt
turbinado sugar (or any coarse/raw sugar)

Directions:

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or (carefully!) use the microwave. For the microwave, place the chocolate in a medium heat-proof bowl. Melt in 30 second increments, stirring after each increment until completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can temper the chocolate. If tempering, do not store finished nuts in the refrigerator.
Stir the almonds into the chocolate, making sure to coat each one. Using a dipping tool or a fork, lift the almonds out of the chocolate one by one or only a couple at a time (you don’t want them all sticking together!), gently tap the tool/fork against the side of the bowl to release excess chocolate, and place onto prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining almonds.
Sprinkle almonds with a little sea salt and turbinado sugar, then allow chocolate to completely set. I placed the baking sheet in the refrigerator to speed it up!
Store chocolate covered almonds in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.

APPLE CINNAMON COOKIE ENERGY BITES

| Makes: 2 dozen |

Ingredients:

2 cups old-fashioned oats
¼ cup ground flaxseed
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup almond butter
¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 cup (not packed) grated apple (about 1 medium)

Directions:

In a large bowl, stir together the oats, flaxseed, and cinnamon. In another bowl or a liquid measuring cup, stir together the almond butter, honey, vanilla, and pinch of salt until well combined. Pour over the oat mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated. (I use my hands at the end to make sure everything is well mixed.) Stir in the grated apple.
Scoop the mixture into tablespoon-sized portions (I use my small cookie scoop), and use your hands to squeeze it together into a ball. Slightly wet hands will help to keep the mixture from sticking.
Store the energy bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will keep for 3-4 days.

FROYO BERRY BITES

| Makes: 6 servings |

Ingredients

1/4 cup almond meal or crushed almonds
2 tablespoons raw coconut sugar
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, low-fat
2 tablespoons honey, (optional stevia liquid to taste)
1 1/2 cups fresh chopped strawberries and/or raspberries
6-cup muffin tin and liners

Directions

Line a 6-cup muffin tin with silicone or parchment cupcake liners. In a small bowl, stir together almond flour, coconut sugar, and coconut oil. Spoon a small amount into the bottom of each lined cup.
In a medium bowl, mix together yogurt and honey, or stevia to sweeten. Spoon 2 tablespoons into each muffin cup, covering the crust.
Top with fresh chopped berries. Freeze until firm, about 6 hours.

AVOCADO TUNA SALAD

| Makes: 1-2 servings |

Ingredients:

1 avocado
1 lemon, juiced, to taste
1 tablespoon chopped onion, to taste
5 ounces cooked or canned wild tuna
sea salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Cut the avocado in half and scoop the middle of both avocado halves into a bowl, leaving a shell of avocado flesh about ¼-inch thick on each half.
Add lemon juice and onion to the avocado in the bowl and mash together. Add tuna, salt and pepper, and stir to combine. Taste and adjust if needed.
Fill avocado shells with tuna salad and serve.

CHOCOLATE-PEANUT BUTTER GRANOLA APPLE BITES

| Makes: 16-20 wedges |

Ingredients:

2 apples, sliced into wedges
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup granola, your favorite
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for sprinkling
Semisweet chocolate chips, optional*

Directions:

Coat tops of apple wedges in peanut butter and sprinkle with granola and cinnamon.
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring in 30 second increments until melted. Be careful not to overheat.
Drizzle wedges with melted chocolate, set on a large platter and serve.

Spring Overalls

Hey guys! Just a quick post from California. Cody and I had a few projects for work down in L.A. and decided to make a trip of it together. It has been so beautiful – every time we come down here we talk about our dream of making LA our second home!

I just added this pair of overalls to my closet a couple weeks ago and wanted to share – I have been in love with the idea of overalls for years now but when it came down to finding a pair I liked, it was easier said than done. These are seriously the perfect pair. I love the boyfriend fit (also love this distressed pair under $40). I offset the relaxed boyish look with a more feminine top – this fitted crop top is under $7 and seriously a great closet staple, especially at that price. 5 Minute Spring Beauty Look

Beckam loves going through my make up drawer. I think he thinks it’s like a hidden stash of crayons because he always goes for my lipsticks first and it’s usually a straight shot for the wall or floor for a coloring brigade.

One Secret to Shopping for Specifics

I was so excited for the chance to work with Trunk Club to find a few great staples I’ve been on the hunt for recently. One piece I had been searching for is a great trench style. I’ve ordered so many different styles and just haven’t found one that I love yet.

My Current Sneakers and Street Style Crushes

Hello Smonday! I read somewhere about the Smondays, where Sunday stops feeling like the weekend and the pressure of Monday starts to kick in. It’s like losing few precious hours of the weekend, haha. I usually love Mondays, but with my best friend visiting this weekend, good food, lots of laughs, and the Justin Bieber concert, I’m trying not to think about Monday and just enjoy the rest of the weekend.
