The 4 Workout Pieces Every Woman Should Own

We all love staying active for different reasons, but I’ve recently found myself living in work out clothes even on the days I’m not hitting the gym. I wore these pants three out of the seven days last week and my husband was teasing me the fourth day when I didn’t have them on. “Where’s your favorite pants??” he asked lol. Below are four work out staples every woman should own, the basics for a comfortable gym look or a day running around.

1. Colorful sports bra: Even if color isn’t your thing, a bright sports bra is a perfect way to add a little bit of contrast to your typical workout look. These pastel options are perfect for spring.

2. Lightweight layers: Pick pieces that are easy to transition temperatures. I’m always cold when I first get to the gym and like to have a lightweight jacket or long sleeve that’s easy to take off. Love the back of this stye for less intensive workouts.

3. Cropped leggings: I love cropped leggings because they really work in every season. I always find myself throwing them on to run errands too. This brand is so comfortable I just ordered this style too.

4. Sneakers: A good sneaker is just as much about safety as it is about style. Don’t forget to switch out your old running shoes every 6 months or approximately 500 miles to avoid injury. I love these prints and you can see more of my favorites from this post here.

The fam and I went to Vegas a couple weekend ago. It’s one of our favorite mini getaways. The kids love staying in hotels and you can always get awesome deals there. When we are on family trips I usually have about .2 minutes to get ready so hats are always my go to. These sandals are actually super comfortable to walk around in because they are made with soft suede. Make sure and spray them before you wear so they don’t get dirty fast 🙂

I lost so much hair after I had Beckam. It wasn’t right after he was born, it was like 3 months later, and it came out in globs. I was freaking out! I thought I was going to go bald! It’s finally started growing back but the new baby hairs don’t stay down when I’m styling my hair so I’ve resorted to braids to keep them down. It’s like the awkward stage when you grown out bangs and they just don’t want to style with the rest of your hair 🙂

You saw this striped tank a couple pictures ago. I wear it all the time. Well I wear stripes all the time, but it’s one of my favorite shirts. Stripes, chucks, and distressed shorts are the summer staples. B’s first pair of shoes ever were mini converse high tops, so I was excited to get him a new pair for summer. Sneakers are one of the few things I can buy to match with him. I get excited for those type of things.

What I Love About the Mornings

Ever since B started walking he seems to be moving a mile a minute. When he first wakes up he’s still a little sleepy so it’s prime cuddle-time. Needless to say I try to stretch those mornings out as long as he lets me – some days we don’t even change out of our pajamas.

This is one of my favorite sets of pajamas (top and bottoms). I love them because I get sooooo hot at night (we sleep with the fan on AC blowing) and they are made with a cooling fabric. It’s crazy what a difference it makes. Just touching them you notice a difference. I wish they made sheets in this material, too.

PJs make a great gift for Mother’s Day – they are universal (who doesn’t love cute pajamas?) but there’s also enough selection that you can put some thought into it – both style and print. One of my moms loves two-piece pajama sets while the other prefers nightgowns so I was able to pick something that fit each of their styles. Motherhood and Memories

Many of my earliest scent memories take me back to some of my favorite moments with my mothers. I remember admiring my moms as I watched them get ready and always got excited to try their makeup and perfume. Now I’m excited to share those moments with my own kids. Mara always asks for a spritz of perfume after I fix her hair for the day. Even the boys seem to enjoy hanging around a little bit longer. I think Wes brushes his hair more than I do 🙂

I think my love of perfume has been passed down through my mothers and I love that something as simple as a scent can be so memorable. Typically I am super picky about perfumes, but I really loved both this new fragrance Untold, by Elizabeth Arden (The Red Door is really good too). I can’t help but wonder what specific memories my kids will think of one day years from now when they smell certain perfumes that remind them of their childhood and our memories together.
