Hi guys! We had to escape the cold for a trip to Hawaii – I swear every day during the winter I tell Cody we need to escape to somewhere warm. I can only handle the cold in small doses 🙈 and of course Christmas! You have to have snow for Christmas. I wore this look last week before we left town. I’m obsessed with this gorgeous sweater from Macy’s. It’s crazy soft and I love the lace-down detail on the side! It’s the perfect length as a flirty sweater dress or you can pair it with jeans for a more casual look. For an extra layer I added a sleeveless turtleneck and love the look with this low-v sweater. It’s an unexpected layer but since it works perfect since it’s the same tone.  Also you guys have seen me in so much sherpa this season – I honestly can’t resist it anytime I see something haha. I think half my closet is sherpa now! I found this coat  and it’s a great budget-friendly option if you’ve been looking. 🙂 These boots are also on sale right now for under $70 and they come in 3 colors.

Sometimes gifts are more about moments, and sometimes it’s more about the items themselves. I think everyone has different love languages. Have you guys ever taken the love language test? It’s seriously so helpful when understanding your significant other! It’s helped me understand how to give Cody better gifts for any event. Cody’s love language is time. It’s quality time together. Sometimes we make those elaborate things, other times it’s silly things for no reason. This year we’ve been doing little things for each other every day of December leading up to Christmas. And because time is so important to him, I went with a watch as one of his gifts to symbolize that our time together is always on my mind. He is the best at being romantic and giving good thoughtful gifts so I wanted to get him something symbolic of the time and take him to do something fun. We dressed up and went to an old school diner by where we used to live and got our favorite ice cream. You can’t go wrong with a classic watch for your S/O to add to their collection. It’s a staple accessory that he will wear every day. I just got Cody this Citizen one from Macy’s – they are powered by any kind of light so they never need a battery change. I love the blue face for a little accent color to his look but it’s still really polished and goes with everything. Also love this one and this black one for a more neutral option.

I love getting matching pajamas for the family – how cute are these??

The fog was so cool hovering under the mountains when we got into Montana, the picture doesn’t do it justice cause it was so far away but so pretty!

Who else loves road trips!! They can be so fun with the kids, but if you have kids you know they get restless over long periods of time, heck I get restless! Below are 11 fun tips for long family road trips:

1. Travel early morning or late at night. We like to leave really early in the morning so the kids can get a few more hours of sleep during the drive. Nothing makes road trips pass faster than a good nap! We usually try to hit the road by 6am or earlier.

2. Organize a road trip scavenger hunt. There are printable road scavenger hunts on Pinterest of you can create your own specific to your destination. Such a good idea to pass the time while keeping the kids involved!

3. Download new educational apps for the kids. All the distraction of screen time with less guilt. 😉

4. Take lots of pictures. You might think that the destination is where you’ll fill up your photo album, but there are so many great memories on the way too. Keep your phone or camera handy to capture those candid moments!

5. Surprise the kids with something new. Every trip, I bring something new – either a basic new toy or an activity book – pretty much anything from the dollar section. You can pull it out during those long stretches when the kids get bored and it will give them something new and fun to focus on.

6. Stock up on snacks to avoid stops. We always make the kids’ favorite cookies the night before a road trip so the anticipation builds and they get excited to hit the road so they can break into the cookies. 😉

7. Binge watch. For adults, download your favorite series on your devices. Maybe this is old news, but I just found out that you can download movies and shows from Netflix and Amazon Video so now you can binge watch your favorite show even without wifi!

8. Play games. One of our favorite road games is “Would You Rather” (ie. “Would you rather go to the beach or go to the mountains?”) For a fun twist, have everyone guess what each person in the car would pick as they answer the question. So if we are asking Mara, we all guess what her answer would be, then she tells us who was right and whoever has the most right answers at the end of the game wins.

9. Set traditions. If you are road-tripping to a destination you visit often, make traditions for your trip. We drive to Montana every year and there’s a big buffalo statue on the side of the highway that the kids get excited to see every trip. Since it’s become a tradition, the kids start to get excited 30 minutes before we stop and it’s become a highlight of the drive. You could also find a favorite restaurant or a great view to make your own tradition.

10. Be prepared. This is more of a hack, but I always bring a roll of paper towels on road trips. Especially with kids, it’s a guarantee that something will spill on long drives. I also bring a couple ziploc bags. With multiple kids sometimes they end up fighting over who gets to hold the bag of chips or pack of snacks (or is it just my family? haha), so I split everything up evenly into bags for each of them.

11. Get cozy. There’s nothing like being comfortable on a road trip. I’m always in sweats or something comfortable. The kids love getting holiday pajamas – they get them every year – so I surprised them with these matching Family Pajamas and they were so excited. There are so many cute holiday recipes and treats all over Pinterest that during the holidays I actually end up cooking a lot more than usual! The kids get excited about it too so I always try to find quick, easy recipes so our attention spans don’t run out haha. I saw a similar version of this cute pizza wreath and was excited to make it with the kids. It’s super easy (even easier since we like to use the pre-made dough from the store 🙈) and was just as much fun to make as it was to eat. 🙂 Below is the recipe for you guys to try at home!

HOLIDAY PIZZA WREATH RECIPE:

Ingredients:

Uniquely J Organic Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce (Also love their Organic Four Cheese Pasta Sauce – both are so good!)

Uniquely J Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I don’t cook a ton, but when I do it’s always Italian. Love this olive oil made from non-GMO olives.)

Pepperoni

Basil

Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheese

Halved Cherry Tomatoes

Red Bell Pepper

Pizza Dough or Pre-Made Crust

Directions:

1. Roll out dough and place on greased pizza pan. (I just put a little olive oil on a paper towel to grease the pan.)

2. Roll up edges for crust.

3. Use a glass to cut out a circle in the center of the pizza to make it look like a wreath.

4. Add Uniquely J Organic Tomato Basil Sauce and grated mozzarella and parmesan cheese to taste and any other topping you like. We used: fresh basil and spinach leaves (for the wreath leaves), and cherry tomatoes (for the holly/ornaments). Slice red bell pepper into thin slices to create the bow for the wreath.

5. Lightly drizzle Uniquely J Extra Virgin Olive Oil and sprinkle with salt. I love salt on everything. 🙂

6. Bake in the oven at 350° for 12-15 minutes.

7. ENJOY!! Also if you have kiddos I got an extra pack of dough so the kids could make another pizza however they wanted. Mara loves animals so she opted for a kitty-bunny pizza.

Going to the grocery store is one of my least favorite things so I have started ordering some of our groceries online! Uniquely J has food, snacks, cleaning supplies, and food storage. Don’t judge me but I’m in full holiday mode! I’ve been trying to be proactive this year and get my Christmas shopping done early. By now, most of you probably know I grew up a serious tomboy, loved sports, and was convinced I was going to be the first woman quarterback in the NFL. I grew up watching football with my family every Sunday after church. My family loved to have people over so it was always an event with my cousins or friends. To be honest, we grew up huge Seahawk fans, so they are probably disowning me after reading this post and seeing me in my Patriots gear 🙂 but Cody is a big Tom Brady fan so I supposed both. 🙂 Now that Beckam is getting old enough to want to throw the “baseball” outside (he keeps confusing baseballs and footballs 😉 it’s becoming a family affair. Watching the big game is always a great way to bring friends and family together, so I wanted to share a few things you need for hosting a game-day at your place!

1. Team Pride! Go Patriots! (Unless they are playing the Seahawks 😉 Donning your fan gear immediately gets you in the spirit! 4. Good friends. What’s a football game without someone to watch it with? Invite your friends over to cheer with you and your team (or even better – friends that are cheering for the opposite team to bring that competitive spirit to life ;).

5. Lose yourself in the game. Disconnect from your phone while they game is on and have fun cheering with your S/O!

Hey guys! Cody and I just got out to London for the Tommy Hilfiger show tomorrow and I can’t wait! It’s always one of my favorite events of the season and it’s being held in London this year so you know it’s going to be amazing. Can’t wait to see what they have in store!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons (which I know I’ve said a million times – are you tired of it yet 😉 but one of my favorite parts is watching the leaves change colors! Utah falls are always really short, so whenever I travel during the fall I get really nervous all the leaves will change colors and fall off the trees before I get home to see it haha. So here’s hoping it doesn’t happen before we get back!

When I was a kid, I was a big tomboy and lived and breathed basketball from kindergarten through high school. I practically lived in Nike and Adidas. 2. Joggers: You guys know how addicted I am to joggers – I practically live in them, whether I’m lounging around the house, traveling, or running errands. I love the logoed stripe on this pair – they are so different from anything else I own. I also got this matching hoodie for a fresh take on the tracksuit which is going to be big this season.
3. A transitional layer: I’m obsessed with all the colorblocked windbreaker options out right now! Love this one in white and it also comes in multiple colors here. They are an easy piece to throw on and take off, which makes it the perfect layer, especially as we transition into fall.
4. Shorts that make you love your legs: I am kind of picky when it comes to athletic shorts. The ones with a curved hem are always more flattering so I’m always on the lookout. I love this pair I found that comes in 5 colors and the trim gives it a throwback feel that is coming back this season.
5. Sneakers: Last but not least, sneakers!! I have a serious obsession with them, but I wear them all the time so I don’t feel too guilty about it. 🙂 A good neutral sneaker will never go out of style so I always stock up on good black and white styles when I find a good pair I like. There is nothing worse than having your makeup fade off during the day. With the crazy hot days of summer, traveling, and spending time in the pool and ocean, it’s hard to keep our makeup looking fresh all day long! Below are 7 easy tips to help your makeup stay on all day!

1. Primer: A primer is a no-brainer to get the most wear out or your makeup. It creates a really smooth base for your foundation so it doesn’t come off easily throughout the day. I switch back and forth between this Smashbox Photofinish Primer and the Smashbox Pore Primer. Both are great! Some days I just notice my pores a little more around my nose and want to smooth them out. The primer has such a velvety smooth finish that makes your foundation go on really smooth and last all day.

2. Face Oil: I just added a face oil to my beauty routine and I love the results! Add one drop of oil for every 3 drops of foundation and mix together before applying. It adds extra hydration so it blends flawlessly and looks really natural. You can also use an oil alone as a moisturizer to get that healthy glow. Obsessed with this rose one – it smells incredible!

3. 24 Hour Foundation: I am obsessed with this foundation. It really does last all day and gives the best, even coverage. Honestly I don’t wear foundation nearly as much in the summer but if I do, I know I can count on this Lancôme one to last all day! It’s my favorite! I wear shade 360 bisque regularly and, when I’m tan, add 420.

4. Setting Powder: Layering a setting powder over your liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer helps it set and stay in place. I’m super picky with my powders because I hate that thick makeup look, but this one blends really well and is really light and translucent. Use your fluffiest brush to swirl, tap off excess powder, and apply to your cheeks, mid-forehead, nose, and chin.

5. Finishing Mist: For your last step, lightly apply a finishing spray to your final look. This one has options for every skin type – I love the ‘All Nighter‘. Not only does it keep your makeup in place, it keeps it from melting away which is the worst during the summer.

6. Waterproof Mascara: Is there anything worse than your mascara smudging underneath your eyes?! I’m really particular about my mascara and can’t stand when it starts to rub off under my eyes – nothing ruins a fresh face faster! I just got this waterproof one that stays put for 12 hours – a must for those long summer days or trips to the beach.

7. Go bare! ok so this is a cheating step a little, but embracing your natural skin saves you from stressing about your makeup! Use a little tinted moisturizer with sunscreen and embrace your beautiful skin.

HELLO SUMMER! Technically summer just started but it already feels like it’s going by so fast! Who else agrees? Last week we hit 100° almost every single day – it’s been a hot one! Beckam lovvvves the pool (even more than the beach – he’s such a little fish!). He loves to put his head under water and blow bubbles and of course jump into the pool and make the “biggest splash ever” according to him.

Hey guys! I’ve talked about it before but having alone time with your significant other is so important. Make time for it! Especially once you have kids, that time together is so important because life gets way more chaotic the older they get!

I’ve gotten a lot of a comments and emails from you guys about date ideas when you are on a budget, or when you have kids at home and can’t always get a sitter. So I wanted to put a list together of some fun ways to spend a romantic night in:

1. Try something new. For us it’s cooking. We are both not the best cooks. When you can’t rely on your cooking skills, you for sure need to invest in good cookware so we just got this Lagostina set. It’s comical because we are such beginners we were making this Italian chicken dish the other night and we literally had to google how to crush garlic because we weren’t sure if there was a specific technique or what?! (so embarrassing!) We got halfway through and realized we didn’t have a brush for the olive oil and bruschetta, and improvised with garlic cloves and tomatoes to spread the olive oil across the bread.  Honestly I feel like it’s those moments that make an experience more memorable. Having everything come easy and run smoothly is boring, it’s the funny mishaps that are memorable! We’ve also had those times when we plan to stay in for a romantic night and the kids just don’t stay occupied (or asleep if it’s their bedtime) – you can incorporate them and have them act as servers or put them on clean up duty so they get to participate. The Lagostina pots is dishwasher safe so it makes clean-up easy.
2. Youtube dance lessons. You can take this as silly or as seriously as you want to, but either way sounds like so much fun!
3. Make your own board game. Cody does this with the kids all the time but it works great for adults too! Pick up a game from the dollar store (we picked up a travel sized Chutes & Ladders last time) and grab some small pieces of paper (we use old business cards) to make funny ‘chance’ cards. Every time you land on an odd number, for example, you have to draw a chance card which might have something funny or a chore, etc. For date night at home, your chance cards could be anything from giving a 5 minute massage to a 2-second make-out, etc. (You can make it as PG or non-PG as you want 🙂
4. Have a cook-off! Whether it’s a full meal or just dessert, pick a couple recipes and see who can make it better or invite some of your couple friends over for a cook-off! You might need to recruit some unbiased judges, which is another fun way to involve the kids if they won’t stay in bed ;).
5. Build a fort & binge-watch a new show.  Cody is a master for builder! We love to string lights around our forts and make it overflowing with pillows and cozy blankets. We love finding new shots, and one of our favorites is The Night Of. It’s a little dark at some parts, but it’s really good! We watched 5 episodes in one night. For a laugh, we love King of Queens. It’s an old school classic, but the way they jokingly argue kind of reminds me and Cody of the way we banter so it’s a good, easy show to watch.
6. Blind taste test.  You can either pick up some fun treats at the store that you think will stump each other or have fun quizzing each other on ingredients you already have at home.
7. Bubble Bath and Your Favorite Playlist.  Baths are one of the best ways to relax! You can make it extra romantic by making a playlist with some of your favorite songs from your relationship. You can also stick a bath bomb in your S/O’s bag when they leave in the morning with a note that says “Bubble Bath: you & me – tonight.” or think of other ways to build it up for them.

Hey guys! We have been in California this week. We love Cali, it always feels like a second home! I got so many questions on this hoodie from my Snapchat. We are definitely a sportswear-obsessed family haha. I just got Beckam these little Adidas sneakers in two colors and I am obsessed with them!!

I always have to make time to shop when I’m traveling because Utah doesn’t have the hugest selection of stores, even department stores. I’m really excited for the brand new Macy’s opening next month! We already have a Macy’s but this one is supposed to be bigger with more departments! I found out that the MyStylist at Macy’s service will be available at the new location.  It’s a free personal shopper service that can pull all the pieces you are looking for before your appointment. It’s such a good idea, whether you need something for a special occasion, solid wardrobe staples, or even a gift if you are shopping for someone else. I tend to be a last minute shopper (no matter how far in advance I try to plan 😉 so even though I do a lot of my shopping online, I always end up going in-store in search of something I need last minute. So I’m excited to use the service!

I love finding pretty luggage! I’ve kind of started collecting because I like different pieces for different occasions or destinations.  I’m the worst at condensing everything into a carry-on (although I’ve been making a little progress with Cody’s help lol) so especially when it comes to family trips we end up needing a lot of suitcases. We’ve also been traveling so much lately that a lot of the time I still have a partially unpacked suitcase on our bedroom floor while I’m packing for the next trip, so having a few luggage options has been a lifesaver, haha.

The inside of the suitcase has drawer-like sections (like a dresser) which make it really convenient for packing, especially if it’s for the kids. I can use one section for each kid.

Seriously is there any better feeling than matching luggage? I’ve been looking for a cognac leather style for forever so when I found this one I had to get the matching weekender from Joy Mangano. A classic leather is such a pretty neutral and it’s timeless you can use it forever.

Hey guys! One of my main goals from last year was to travel more and it’s something I want to focus on this year too. I moved around a lot as a kid and I really think it helped shape me as a person and drove my love for travel as an adult! Some of my favorite memories with my family were on trips and I hope our kids feel the same! I feel like there’s so much to learn from seeing new places and interacting with different people around the world. I know there’s still so much world to see and you could spend a lifetime seeing it all, but below are three destinations that are on my bucket list:

1.  Bora Bora – A little cliche. I feel like everyone has this on their list, but I really want to go anywhere with huts over the ocean! Maldives, Bora Bora, Fiji, it looks like the ultimate tropical paradise!

2. Iceland – I actually hate the cold, Cody and I are both big cold wimps, but I’m throwing that all out the window because everything about Iceland looks AMAZING. The warm lagoons, the Northern Lights, the ice glaciers! I’m really dying to go!

3. Italian Coast – I lived in Florence, Italy for 6 months during college, doing a study abroad, and I was so bummed I didn’t get down the Southern part of Italy and see the coast! I really want to take Cody and the kids back to where I lived and then go spend a week along the coast!

I also wanted to share 3 of my favorite places I’ve been that you guys should add to your bucket list! Ok so Paris is probably one of my favorite cities in the world, but I think that might be everyone’s so outside of that obvious one:

1.  Dubai – travel guide coming soon!! But Dubai was so much different than I anticipated. The architecture, attention to detail, the beaches, everything was so beautiful!

2.  Hawaii – this has become a family favorite for us, we are making it an annual tradition to go here. Everywhere we go nothing compares to Hawaii’s beaches and the it’s in the US, so it’s usually the quickest and least expensive to get to as well.

3. Mykonos – So when we did our big Europe trip last summer, Santorini, was at the top of my bucket list and I actually liked Mykonos a lot better! Don’t get me wrong, both were beautiful, but something about Mykonos I liked more. The town felt a little younger, and the main city area is so cute! They have beautiful beaches and really good pastries!

I have been looking for a white denim jacket for a while. I found this one (under a $100) and it’s kind of stretchy so it’s really comfortable I love it!

Beckam has started doing this silly booty shake! He will be in the middle of playing and just stop, squat down, start shaking his booty, and get the giggliest laugh and smile. It’s so funny!

Beckam loves loves flowers! Whenever he sees them he puts his arms up and yells: “Mom! Stop! Smell flowa!”

It was such a beautiful weekend! We had all the kids this weekend and we were outside almost all day everyday. We BBQ’ed at Cody’s sisters and the kids had a water fight. I found some cheap squirt guns for like $2 and they worked better then the expensive ones! Anything with water: pool, squirt guns, puddles, etc gets the kids so giddy and excited 🙂

I just got this shirt dress (on sale – under a $100) and love it! I’m always a sucker for stripes and I love that the stripes are vertical which elongate your figure and are more flattering. It’s also a classic silhouette that is so easy to wear – pair it with sneakers or slip ons during the day or cute heeled sandals for a date night(also love this denim option).  Vince Camuto has a lot of great new arrivals at Macy’s right now. I just got these cute jeans (on sale under $100) and how pretty is this eyelet skirt (also under $100).

I get just as excited to wrap presents as I do to give them – but I may be the world’s slowest wrapper! Cody always teases me because he will have like 10 presents wrapped and I will still be on my first one trying to make it look pretty with ornament toppers and curling ribbon. Needless to say I’ve started early this year so I’m not up until 2am on Christmas Eve doing a last minute rush. 🙂 Plus being able to shop straight from my computer at home makes it so much easier to not procrastinate.

Ralph Lauren is one of my Mom’s favorite brands so I got her this pretty striped blouse, and this cozy cardigan. I actually bought the blouse for myself too because I love it so much. It’s structured and fits so good! Also this camel wool coat is so beautiful!

Below are a few more gift ideas for everyone in the family. Number two  – the red crossbody – is always a safe choice and it’s such a pretty shade of red!  And number ten, the booties, I am majorly swooning over! I wish I had a sister I could buy them for 🙂 Also can’t go wrong with a leather duffel for one of the guys on your list, and if I had a girl she would be in twelve!
