Summer nights with the boys – we went out biking and skateboarding the other night and let the kids stay up late. June is flying by and I’m like oh man Father’s Day is JUST around the corner.

First on Cody’s Father’s Day wishlist this year was a new pair of basketball shoes since he gets so much use out of them. He prefers the lower sneakers so he liked these Lebron 19 Low shoes – love the bright orange color but they also come in black. I also loved this pair if your S/O or dad likes a higher sneaker. Cody wears this Scott Bros bracelet every single day – he wanted something engraved with the kids initials and had this tie bracelet already so I wanted to get him something a little different and ended up finding this engraved dogtag chain necklace. Super minimalist and easy to wear with everything so I think it will end up being another piece he wears daily. Cody also wanted this endless movie theater popcorn bucket with free refills (under $25) at his favorite theatre since we love going to the movies. This is such a simple and cute gift idea that any dad will appreciate! Lastly, Cody wanted some Nike Dunks because he loves matching the kids with theirs 🙂 and since he lives in Nike shorts, he also dropped a hint for a new pair. 😏

I wanted to put together an Amazon gift guide with some of Cody’s tried and true favorites from previous years as well as some affordable gift ideas that will work for any budget. This collapsable ladder  has tons of high reviews and is more convenient to store than a regular ladder. Also this power washer (currently on sale for 27% off) which Cody has used a ton since he got it. I know we hit on this with Mother’s Day and talking about getting luxury appliances or household items haha so I cleared it with Cody and he agreed he would’ve loved to get either for Father’s Day gifts. For affordable dad-approved gifts these cloud slides (under $25) are a great option! Cody loves his just as much as I love mine and we both wear them a ton. I picked out some splurge-worthy Father’s Day gift ideas too. I loved the idea of a pizza oven for the backyard – would be such a fun activity for the kids to do with Cody. I am also obsessed with the idea of this floating golf turf! We don’t really golf but I feel like all of my friends husbands do, and even though we don’t really know what we’re doing I could see us having hours of fun getting competitive with this at the pool or lake. Since Cody likes to workout everyday, I thought these items like the handheld massage gun for muscle soreness and this blender & hydration set are perfect since he always makes a protein shake right after. Also, these sunglasses and this Essentials brand sweatshirt (under $100) make such nice gifts as well!

I found so many affordable Mother’s Day gift ideas on Amazon from home to beauty to fashion items (all under $100.) My everyday jewelry: this Roman Numeral ring is so cute and under $15 and my gold watch (under $100) a staple jewelry piece every mom will love. I also included some of my most-worn clothing items like these workout shorts (I have them in neon green too! – size S) they are SO flattering and comfortable at a great price point with high reviews. For affordable beauty gifts I can’t recommend this Elemis cleansing balm enough, it’s been a favorite of mine for years. I’ve had this Apple watch strap for a year and still get tons of questions on it when I wear it. It’s amazing quality and makes me feel like I’m wearing one of my favorite designer watches but I still get all the convenience of having a smart watch. For the first time I can remember, I’m actually feeling ahead of the curve with Christmas shopping this year. I still have a few people left on my list – it seems like every year it’s the same few that are the hardest to shop for haha. A lot of you guys have said the toughest people to shop for are parents/in-laws so I wanted to put together a few of my favorite gift ideas for parents. I feel like with parents, they’ve usually accumulated enough ‘stuff’ over the years so I like to focus less on tangibles and more on experiences or services that will make their life just a little easier. I feel like the excitement of experiences usually beats the excitement of just having something to open so I love the idea of more experience or service-focused gifts, plus they usually make for more unique gift ideas you maybe have thought of before.

PEACE OF MIND WITH A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM

SimpliSafe: My parents are building a house right up the street from us so they’ll be splitting time between Montana and Utah. I wanted to get them a security system for their new house so they could have peace of mind while they are away. After doing a little digging, I landed on SimpliSafe – it gets amazing reviews, and has options to protect everything from burglary to water damage, freeze, and more. The install is super easy (which is a must because the last thing I wanted to do is give my dad another chore when he’s so busy already). It’s also a super clean look so it blends in with decor. Take luxury to the next level and organize and in-home massage for your parents. There’s nothing more relaxing than rolling out of a massage bed and into your own bed after a long day. Cody and I have used Zeel before – you can select what type of massage, what pressure, etc to make sure you get a massage you’ll love. One year I actually got Cody a massage table for Christmas one year so we could do our own at-home massages so it could work as a good gift ideas for your S/O too.

THE GIFT OF TIME

Walmart+/Grocery Subscription: One of my most used services (I literally use it multiple times a week haha) is my grocery delivery subscription. I use Walmart+ and Target Same Day Delivery and they are probably the single best investment I’ve made this year based on how often I use it. It saves so much time going back and forth from the store, especially when I realize I forgot an ingredient, and has ended up being the move convenient thing ever. Love this idea for parents – another thing you know will make their life a little easier that doesn’t end up gathering dust on a shelf.

THE GIFT OF A CLEAN HOUSE

Nothing gets me feeling more frazzled than a messy house so I always look forward to when we have someone come deep clean our house.  I feel like whenever I attempt to do it myself, by the time I finish cleaning one room, the last one is already a mess haha. Give your parents an extra special treat and splurge on a cleaning service or gift card so they can schedule a deep clean – maybe after your kids have been at their house over the holidays, before they are hosting a get together, or just to catch up after the busy holiday season. If you don’t think a professional cleaning service is their cup of tea, this UV sanitizing wand is a great way to give the same clean feel that they can use for years to come.

Vrbo Trip together: There have been multiple years where instead of tangible gifts, my parents have taken our whole family on a trip. It always ends up being one of my favorite gifts, so we ended up going the same a few years. Those trips have been some of my favorite family memories together and it’s a gift you’ll remember for years to come. Nothing beats making new memories together ❤️. We love Vrbo for family trips, especially to be able to have game nights or movie night all in the same space instead of splitting up into individual hotel rooms. Plan an epic date night for your parents that they will remember for years. Cody and I love doing new things together but sometimes we all need a little push to actually make it happen. We all have those people on our list who are impossible to shop for. The ones who already own everything they need, some who live a more minimalist lifestyle, and others who buy things for themselves the second they think of it so you never get a chance 😂. DIY GIFTS FOR MOM

And as much as I love seeing what my kids pick out for Mother’s Day or shopping for something for my own moms, the DIY gifts are always hands down my favorite, so I wanted to share some DIY gift ideas you can put together or help your kids put together for mom.

1. Hand-painted mug: I love mugs and have so many cute mugs in my collection, but the mug I use almost every day is one my kids hand-painted for me. You can take the kids to Color Me Mine or put together a craft station at home. I promise, it will be mom’s first choice for mug with her morning cup or coffee or tea!
2. Hand-written cards: As someone who’s love language is words, I always look forward to getting cards for holidays and I always save them. In a time where we might not be able to visit your moms in person or it’s so simple to order something online, don’t underestimate the value of mailing a card with a sweet note about why you love mom.
3. Spa session: Another way to spoil mom if you’re tight on funds is to set up a home spa session: let her have a relaxing day at home and cuddle up on the couch to catch up on her favorite shows. (Especially for new moms! A few hours of r&r is priceless!) Think back/foot massages, DIY manis and pedis, and more.
4. Breakfast in bed: On that same note, breakfast in bed is a classic for a reason. It’s such a fun memory and a cute gesture of doing something for mom that she’s constantly doing for others. A couple weeks ago the boys brought me breakfast in bed and it was so cute watching Beckam and Ollie run in with the food all proud and excited. Heres the video if you missed it 🙂

I’m obsessed with the heavy-hitting skincare products like serums and all things anti-aging, so my pick is this cult-favorite: their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It has over 1k reviews and 4.5+ stars so I know I’m not the only one who loves it. You put it on at night and wake up feeling like you just had a facial – it has lavender, squalane, and primrose so it also smells amaaaazing. It also lasts forever since a tiny pump goes a long way. You can also get it in a holiday kit for 25% off with the matching cleansing oil, the Ultra Facial Cream (mentioned above) and more. Let me know what you guys think of it! I also just got this energizing face mask after hearing rave reviews. It was my first time using tumeric in skincare (at least that I can remember haha). Great for a brightening mask!

Winter is always so hard on the skin, and the kids are washing their hands 100x times a day, it’s a whole new level of dry right now. So I always make sure Beckam has 3 things in his backpack: hand sanitizer, hand lotion, and lip balm. The kids love the Kiehl’s mint flavor and it’s full of Vitamin E to keep your lips protected from the cold weather. Nordstrom has this cute holiday set right nowthat has three full size lip balms (one for Mara, Wes, and Beckam 🙂 Great stocking stuffers if you can wait that long but also just a good winter essential for everyone.

KIEHL’S HAND SALVE

My mom’s favorite Kiehl’s product is their hand salve. It has almost 500 reviews on Nordstrom alone and almost 5 stars. Definitely one of their holy grail products, so if you haven’t tried it yet, you have to! They also have it in a little holiday set with a lavender and grapefruit sent. These would also be great neighbor/coworker gifts. They smell so good and are super rich and creamy.

MY MAKEUP ARTIST’S PICK: KIEHL’S ULTRA FACIAL CREAM

My makeup artist’s first step when she does my makeup, without fail, is to apply Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. The best start to a good makeup look is good skin and this Kiehl’s moisturizer is her favorite – it’s hydrating for 24 hours and super lightweight so it makes for the best base. Nordstrom has it in this cute holiday kit (+ their best-selling avocado eye treatment) for 25% off right now or there’s this trial-sized starter kit under $20.

I posted on stories to poll teachers and find out what gifts they actually want during the holidays and they had so many good ideas! A few things they mentioned they get a ton of and can’t possibly use them all: mugs, ornaments, and chocolates. A plant for their classroom that students can help care for, a new book to add to their class library (also mentioned games for the classroom as a good idea), personalized office supplies (love these pencils or this cute teacher stationery!) But hands down the most requested answer was wine and gift cards. I was also surprised many said they would love wine – this cute wine subscription box would be the gift that keeps on giving. (Or you could order for yourself and split up others as gifts this season.) And of course you can’t go wrong with gift cards. Anything for shopping, Starbucks, a local spa/massage, even a few mentioned for grocery stores. They said anything personalized for the classroom they love too! I thought this stationary is so cute and would be awesome to put their name on it so they can write noes 🙂 And if you aren’t doing teacher gifts this year, never under estimate a hand-written note from your kids. So many teachers responded how much they treasure those hand-written notes and save them for years!

Wes helped me pick out some ideas for guys around his age range – at his age they are starting to get into clothes and style, so it’s a great way to throw in some pieces or layers they need in addition to some of the cool toys. Love this camo sweat set and anything Vans or Stance socks makes for great gifts for teens/pre-teens. This glow-in-the-dark soccer ball was such a good find! Also love this airpods case – so cute! And record players are also great gift ideas for any teen. Wes is obsessed with legos and he was really excited about this 3D storm trooper.

I knew I had to include a felt food set in this year’s gift guides. Ever since we got Mara’s kitchenette, the kids have loved playing together. Baby’s first Christmas is the perfect chance to pull the trigger on baby essentials (we still wrap them and put them under the tree so Ollie has something to open :). These are some of my favorite baby products that we’ve used with Ollie. This travel crib is so light and insanely easy to assemble and this is the high chair we use and love. The tray is really large which I like. He’s outgrown the Snuggle Me Organic but it was 10000% one of our most used baby items. DETAILS: TULLE DRESS

With Valentine’s Day on Friday, I wanted to share a few Valentine’s gift ideas, from free/DIY to splurge gifts that you can pull off last minute. Here are a few of my favorites at all different price points!

Free

We all have those chores around the house that either keep getting put off or that you and your S/O take turns doing. Maybe it’s giving the dog a bath, going grocery shopping, doing the dishes or even those bigger DIY home improvement project. Just put together a coupon book to give your partner a free pass from some of those chores and it won’t go unappreciated.

Ok this is as far from ‘last minute’ as you can get, but start either a written journal (or even a ‘notes’ page on your phone) documenting 1 thing you love about your S/O everyday – somedays it will be something funny they said during the day, somedays it will be big gestures and moments, but not only will it be an epic gift next Valentine’s Day when you give it to your S/O, it will also help you focus on everything you love about them during the year.

Go pick up a globe or a map from Goodwill or a secondhand store (or you can find new options in-store or online for a really good price) and add a pin to all of the spots you have traveled to together. You can also print out pictures from your trips with little notes on the back sharing some of your favorite memories.

A box of gourmet chocolates. I don’t care if it’s for her or him, they are counting their carbs or trying to cut out sugar, what is Valentine’s Day without chocolate?

If your S/O’s idea of the perfect date night involves a comfy couch and big screen TV, you can’t top a movie scratch off poster. It may seem like just a poster, but as you start to scratch off each movie it will turn into a ton of fun, memorable date nights. Just add popcorn and a comfy blanket.

When in doubt, make reservations at one of your S/O’s favorite restaurants. The sooner you book the better, or you might get stuck eating at 4:45pm or 9pm, but it’s a no-brainer. As an alternative, you could celebrate with dinner the day before or after and plan a romantic night at home to avoid the crowds on the 14th.

Missed the cut off? That’s me, lol. I’m making custom Nike’s or Vans for Cody for Valentine’s. I haven’t decided which one, but then I’m going to print off a picture of the shoes to give him the day of. They take about 3-4 weeks to come usually, but that way he can be excited waiting for them too. 🙂

One of the best last minute gifts is a pair of tickets to an upcoming event. When I have a family member or friend’s birthday coming up, sometimes I’ll just browse Stubhub for a list of events in their area to get inspired. Sometimes it’s a concert of one of their favorite bands, a good comedy show, or tickets to their favorite basketball team. It’s always a win and nobody would guess it was a last minute gift idea.

If you are scrambling for a last minute present to impress, now is the time to book that trip to the destination your S/O has casually been bringing up. Whether it’s a dream trip overseas, a weekend camping trip, or a road trip home to visit their family, they’ll always remember that as the perfect Valentine’s Day present.

Amazon has always been my go-to place for holiday shopping! One of my favorite gift guides to share is always the gift guide for her!  There are always so many women in my life that I am buying gifts for.  These 16 items are all items you could really get for any of the females on your list regardless of their age or interests!  Might throw a couple of them in for yourself too 😉

I recently got this eye shadow palette and its seriously one of my favs already! I get asked a lot about which makeup I wear and this is one of my top current favorites.

You can never go wrong gifting a cozy beanie, cashmere scarf or slippers because who doesn’t love to be cozy and bundled up during the freezing winter! I usually try to buy the items to wear like the beanie and scarf in neutral colors that anyone will love and wear.

Stocking stuffers are my favorite!  Its so fun coming up with ideas for the whole family….little gifts that you don’t have to wrap are always nice!  This volume spray is one of my personal favorite beauty products and is really a must for any girl! I am always a fan of toys that aren’t huge, bulky and plastic, so the cute stuffed mermaid and woven finger puppets I had to order. And these customizable glasses are the easiest heartfelt gift ever. They work for anyone from newlyweds to long time lovebirds…you really can’t go wrong with these! Coffee table books are something on my list every Christmas. Not very many coffee table gifts fit in stockings but if you find some cute smaller ones they are awesome gifts too. I am getting Cody this monopoly one because we love to play the card version together!

Sometimes gifts are more about moments, and sometimes it’s more about the items themselves. I think everyone has different love languages. Have you guys ever taken the love language test? It’s seriously so helpful when understanding your significant other! It’s helped me understand how to give Cody better gifts for any event. Cody’s love language is time. It’s quality time together. Sometimes we make those elaborate things, other times it’s silly things for no reason. This year we’ve been doing little things for each other every day of December leading up to Christmas. And because time is so important to him, I went with a watch as one of his gifts to symbolize that our time together is always on my mind. He is the best at being romantic and giving good thoughtful gifts so I wanted to get him something symbolic of the time and take him to do something fun. We dressed up and went to an old school diner by where we used to live and got our favorite ice cream. You can’t go wrong with a classic watch for your S/O to add to their collection. It’s a staple accessory that he will wear every day. I just got Cody this Citizen one from Macy’s – they are powered by any kind of light so they never need a battery change. I love the blue face for a little accent color to his look but it’s still really polished and goes with everything. Also love this one and this black one for a more neutral option.
