Airport style!  I always make sure to dress comfy for extra long flights like this one – comfy jeans, fuzzy pull over and Nikes are always a go to. I love these new Nikes because they zip on and off which makes them perfect for travel!  This bag made the perfect carry on and I am obsessed with this new red suitcase!

Nordstrom is having the best Cyber Monday sale today! I went through and rounded up my favorites!  Some of these items I recently purchased full price and are items you don’t see on sale very often, like UGG and Hunter boots!

You guys know I love a good ankle pointed toe bootie and I can’t believe these are 45% off!!! Such a good deal if you are looking for a good quality bootie in any of the 6 color options now is the time, they are under $100 right now!

I’m obsessed with these leopard slippers!! I ordered a few pairs…one for myself and a few to give away as gifts!  On sale at just under $30 they make the perfect price point for a gift for a girlfriend or holiday gift exchange.

These pajamas are so soft and cozy for sleeping or just lounging around the house and they’re 40% off!  They come in 4 colors and I am having trouble picking just one…I love them all!

This holiday skirt!

Wes got baptized this weekend and this is the outfit Cody wore. I wanted to get a holiday shirt for him but he’s picky about not getting super cheesy with his holiday wear, so I had to find something that didn’t scream Christmas and found this one. I loved the coloring on it and it’s a subtle holiday feel so he can make it work during the rest of the year too. It’s always my favorite when he wears bow ties!! Love the tiny polka dot print on this one.  He’s had the same grey peacoat for years that’s still going strong so I also wanted to get him another color. This one is great – you can zip the lining in and out so it almost looks like two separate coats that you can wear for different occasions, plus having a black coat is something that never goes out of style.

This is the same skirt I wore to the baptism and as you can tell I’m the polar opposite haha. I love a pretty holiday red and this satin pleated skirt is perfect. I love how full it is! It also comes in this pretty pearl pink. You can take it to a full holiday level with a sparkly sweater or make it more versatile by styling it with other colors. Also the black turtleneck I have had for two years and it’s the best basic layering item! This one is so so soft!!

I have been on a red kick lately. It’s quickly becoming my new favorite statement color. When I saw this top (UNDER $100) and this skirt (UNDER $100) it was love at first sight! I love bold reds and can’t get over the statement ruffle detail on the skirt. I also found this amazing floral  bandana (under $20) and I’ve been wearing it non-stop – around my neck, tied onto my bag, and my new favorite – tied around the ankle! It’s such a fresh way to wear a neck scarf or bandana and makes any look read more editorial, either as a bold pop of color with a neutral outfit or to complete a monochromatic outfit.

I am such a shoe girl! It’s always the first thing I check on the new arrivals page whenever I am shopping online, especially heels (how amazing are these one and these ones!). Whether they are dressed up with a skirt or dressed down with distressed boyfriend jeans, shoes 90% of the time make an outfit. You can have the most basic look a tee and jeans, and with killer shoes it transforms it!

Louboutins are always my go-to when I want something that stands out. The So Kate‘s are my favorite style – they are so elegant and feminine and I love the little toe cleavage they give ;). I just got this suede pair and I am obsessed, this pair I have had for years and they go with everything! A closet staple. Next on my wish list is this flared suede pump and this little bootie.

If the last time you wore a matching two-piece set (and no I am not talking pajamas!) was for picture day in elementary school then you are missing out. To get over any misplaced phobia from your childhood, think of separates as a chic split dress, jumper, romper, etc. Better yet, your separates will work over time if and when you split them up. Below are a few ways to wear matching separates that work with any body type.

1. The Dress-set: Two-piece dresses come in so many styles but one of my favorites is when paired with a crop top. Don’t second guess your ability to pull off a cropped-top set – it can chic but sophisticated at almost any stage in life. For classic feminine perfection, opt for a high-waisted skirt with a long hem-line (think an align, maxi, or midi pencil skirt – love this bright print and this floral set).

Wear It: Whenever you can 🙂 Between a midi pencil skirt and align, you can take this look casual for the weekend or dressy for date night out or even a semi-formal occasion.

2. The Shorts-set: Matching top and shorts combos are a flirty take on a romper and perfect for summer. To break up a set, opt for matching jacket like this gorgeous blush kimono set. Play with prints and texture for a set that reads more intentional then accidental.

Wear It: Outdoors to a summer BBQ, picnic, the boardwalk, or other fun summer staple activities.

3. The Pants-set: The matching pants and top separates is such a chic and sophisticated look. Understated sets from monochromatic tones to bold prints come across exactly as you would expect them to – perfection. I love this checkered chambray set.

Wear It: Anywhere from the office (with conservative sets) to a Broadway play or any other occasions where elegance is everything.

Above are two of my looks from Fashion Week. Although very opposite, there are two classic silhouettes that stand out when I think of the word feminine and they couldn’t be more different. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! It feel like it goes as fast as it comes! It was so fun watching B and experiencing his first Christmas. He took his first real steps on Christmas Eve so we were all freaking out. He has been standing for awhile and doing like the one step, but on Christmas Eve he took four steps. I wanted to cry! His face just lights up and he starts laughing, you can tell he is so excited and proud!

I got this skirt for New Year’s Eve. I felt like the metallic shimmer was perfect for bringing in the New Year 🙂 I wanted to dress it down a little bit with a oversized sweater instead of a blousey top. I’m obsessed with this sweater. I have been wearing it on repeat! (also seen in this post)

After Christmas always brings the big clearance sales! I love picking up staple sale pieces for the next year like coats and sweaters.

I was cleaning up some space on my hard drive this weekend (I swear my phone and computer are always giving me the storage full error!) and found a couple outfits I hadn’t posted.

To say that personal style can be inspired by anything may seem like a stretch. Between our favorite style mavens, Vogue, and the internet, the world is already full of fashion inspiration. But the truth is, style doesn’t evolve by constantly imitating itself. It progresses by finding inspiration in the ordinary.

That’s not to say that we will all be changing the future of fashion. Not every outfit inspired by something unexpected will be avant-garde or one-of-a-kind, but getting in the habit of finding new sources of inspiration will spark creativity and confidence in your own styling ability. When finding inspiration, a few key elements can give a lot of guidance, including color schemes, lines or structure, textures, and patterns.

While I was picking up a few office essentials at Target, I decided to create an office-appropriate look based on some of the basics you might find in a home office environment. One of my greatest sources of inspiration has always been color, so it was the first thing I drew from in creating today’s look. One color that caught my attention that would go cute in the office was this burgundy bench/stool. I was also drawn to the neutrals of this cute daily planner. The result of this inspiration was this camel cowl neck sweater and burgundy lip (color stand out 250)– office-appropriate, understated, and classic. The sophisticated but simple style of these items made me want to dress up my look which I completed with a pencil skirt and heels.

If you follow me on Instagram you know I have been wearing tartan on repeat. The increasingly-popular print has taken on new life in a variety of color palettes and styles that can be easily  blended with other trends. It can be just as reminiscent of grunge as school girl, depending on how it is styled. I opted to incorporate the plaid into a mini skirt for a feminine but edgy feel. To keep the look current, I paired the skirt with other modern trends, like a cropped sweater and over-the-knee boots. Add the finishing touches with red lips and gold accessories and your good to go.
