Blazers! They are one of my favorite layers for any season. Obsessed with this blush one which is on sale for under $40. It doesn’t look very pink online but in real life it’s a really pretty pale pink. Happy Friday guys!! We are in California for the kids’ spring break. One of my favorite parts of Southern California is all the flowers! I’m in major denial that summer is over! This whole year has flown by, it’s crazy! This time of year is my favorite for fashion when you start to mix summer favorites with new fall finds. . These pink linen shorts (last worn here) are on sale under $50 and are one of my favorites, plus with blush being such a big color this fall they are so easy to transition.

There are two pieces that can transform almost any summer look: a cardigan and ankle boots I love the slouchy, cozy look of a long cardigan with shorts, either cut-offs for a casual look or dressed up like with this pretty linen pair. I also love getting to pair ankle booties with shorter hems, whether it’s shorts or simple shift dresses. You can’t go wrong by adding an ankle boot – just choose one with a heel if you want to dress up for a night out.

I’ve always been a bag girl! I feel like bags transform any outfit! I’ve been wanting a new neutral bag aside from my typical black, nudes, and greys and love this Marine Senreve bag.  It’s not a true navy but still works as a neutral with anything. I’m convinced this is the new it bag and wanted to share some of my favorite parts.

1. Strap conversion: I’ve never found a multi-way bag that converts as easily as this one. It can transition from a backpack to crossbody to a satchel all without having to adjust any buckles or re-strapping anything. The handles and straps just swivel so it’s super easy to adjust for any occasion.
2. Office appropriate: For all my bags, you think I would have a good one for the office that fits my laptop haha but for the most part I just have it in the front seat of my car or floating when I need to take it out and about. I can’t count the number of times it’s flown off my front seat because I don’t have a good bag for it. This bag has the perfect compartment for laptops and ipads and it has the softest microsuede interior for all the pockets – I’m obsessed.
3. Mom Bag: What mom doesn’t need an oversized, hands-free bag to fit everything? It has tons of pockets and compartments so it will fit everything and I love that it can just as easily transition into a backpack or satchel for airport style or as a crossbody for date night.
4. Pebbled Leather: When it comes to investment bags, I always go for pebbled leather – it’s a lot more durable and doesn’t show wear and tear or scratches as easily. This one has a really soft, pretty and high-quality pebbled leather and it’s made in Italy.
5. Goes with everything: I love the chic, minimalist look of the bag – it has that classic, timeless look and the belt gives it a fresh and modern feel. It comes in multiple colors – also love love the white for summer and the Ice is such a pretty shade of grey!

We’ve officially been home for a week! It’s been nice to get back into the routine of things, have some home-cooked meals at dinner, and spend some more time with extended family. When we got home last week I was just so overwhelmed with all the crap we have in our house that I went into major dejunking binge and started getting rid of everything in our house haha. You know when you get to that point that you just get tired of putting the same things away that you never use? We got rid of so much stuff, it’s the best feeling in the world! I’ve tried to be more hesitant about what I buy so my house doesn’t look like I deserve my own episode of hoarders (ok I’m exaggerating, but you know what I mean :).

One thing that always gets a ton of wear is my sneaker s. I’ve always been a sneaker girl! I’ll take them in (almost) any color. But metallics are the closest neutral to white that you can wear with ANYTHING. This metallic pair I’ve been living in. They are super soft and I love that they are easy to slide on and off. (I always keep my laces loose so I can get sneakers on and off really easily 🙂 A soft leather mtallic is a dressier, chic version of that classic white sneaker we all have in our closet but a great alternative for another neutral option you can mix and match. If you think of how much you can mix and match your silver jewelry, a silver sneaker is the same thing – it goes with everything!

If you read my blog, you know I’m a sucker for the white on white combo. It’s nothing new, but with summer heating up it was an excuse to pull out the shorts and replay the combo with summer pieces. Recently I got an email from a reader asking how to make short shorts look classy. My tip would be if you are showing a little more leg, go for a looser fit top or something with sleeves. It draws less attention to the shorts and makes it seem a little more classy. Have you guys found any other tricks with styling short shorts?
