Laundry Room Reveal

It’s been a year since we shot our Laundry Room but I just remembered last week that I hadn’t posted it haha! I’m linking each item individually below, so if you want to skip straight to the links you can scroll to the bottom. 🙂

How much has Ollie grown this year 🥺🥺

The first thing I picked for this space was this tile. When we were building I really wanted beautiful patterned tile everywhere haha I’m a sucker for cool tile! But as we really started to nail down decor, we settled on a few little accent details through out our home. The laundry room is a really safe place to have fun with pattern or color. I love the pretty blue tone that feels really bright and clean. I’m so happy with how it turned out! The majority of our home is really neutral, so it was fun to bring in some blue in such a bold way!

We don’t get natural light in this room we went with 2 of these chandeliers. I can’t find them in stock anywhere (they were from Wayfair, I’ll keep an eye out if they come back in stock) but found this one that’s super similar. A few weeks ago I switched out the bulbs from a warm bulb to a brighter watt with white light and it’s night and day difference. These were ones I got and love. Wish I had done it earlier!

From the beginning design process I wanted to try to set up as much storage and organization as possible. Obviously I don’t have a foolproof system because if you’ve seen my insta stories its still a mess a lot of times haha, but a couple organization things I love. The tall drawers next to the sink have dirty hampers for Cody, mine and the kids clothes. Each drawer has two bins, one for darks and one for whites (I also LOVE the brass and lucite pulls on these drawers!) For clean laundry, we got these lined baskets and added these gold label hooks to them for the kids. So when I’m organizing the clean laundry I throw all their stuff in each basket for them to put away. I also love these apothecary jars to hold things like detergent, pods – basically whatever products you use that has packaging that doesn’t flow with your color scheme. 😂 For some of my other go-to laundry brands that are a little more aesthetically pleasing (love Laundress & Honest Baby), I love displaying them and setting them out with more intention. You might not think to put your pretty trays and baskets in the laundry where most people will never see them, but whether you hate to do laundry room or already love it, adding some decor brings a totally different energy and will change the game.

Master Bathroom Reveal

We added an ottoman next to the bath months after we moved in and I can’t recommend it enough especially if you have kids!

We had this custom art made for our bathroom, but she is actually selling prints of it now in her shop. She is a super talented local artist in Utah her name is Christie Adelle. You guys know how much we love the sunset and the beach so I love bringing that little piece of joy into our space when we are relaxing each night.

Hi guys! Excited to share our master bath reveal! We actually shot it in early February, before all of the quarantine stuff hit. I was planning on posting early March but with everything going on it didn’t feel like the right time so here we are months later 🙂

Our bathroom is one of my favorite rooms in our house. There’s nothing better than taking a long, hot bath with a view of the valley! Cody and I both wanted a really big tub, we love to take baths. It’s a great size it can actually fit us both and Cody is over 6ft. I take a bath almost every single night in the winter, a little less in the summer just because it gets so hot, but I love that quiet time so much. I light a bunch of candles dim, down the lights, and relax with a magazine and tea on my bath tray. One of the main focal points in the space is this beautiful chandelier. I can’t imagine our bathroom now without it.– so stunning! And then did these beautiful brass sconces on our vanity to match it.

One of our main starting points was the vanity – I loved the European look of the metal legs and we found this amazing company, Palmer Industries, and they were so amazing to work with. I always want to call out the super great companies cause it makes all the difference. Everything is completely customizable, the color, style, shelves if you are building to check out their stuff! I love how they turned out and it makes the bathroom feel really open. To make up for the lack of closed storage with the vanity, we did large vanity cabinets. I love all the shelving in there.

For almost all the tile in our house, we used Bedrosians. Another amazing company we worked with. The shower we wanted to do contrasting sizes, so did small 1×1 square tiles on the floor and brought that pattern up on to the wall tile in the shelves, and had these inset shelves installed by Bedrock Quartz (who also did our fireplace). The large slabs for the shower walls (also Bedrosians) are one of my favorite parts of the space, we looked at so many different pieces and the way these ended up lining up – I’m obsessed. It’s four large sheets of porcelain, it looks like giant slabs of marble but more affordable alternative if you want to save a little.

Last but not least wanted to talk about our faucets. We decided to mix metals in our bathroom which I love how it turned out. Our hardware and lighting is brass, and all our faucets are polished nickel. We went through so many options before we finally settled on all of the Polished Nickel finishes from Brizo. A majority of our faucets in our home are from Brizo (you can see them in our kitchen reveal here too) Their pieces are so beautiful and brought in the perfect luxe European feel I wanted to incorporate into space. I especially love the widespread faucet on our vanity faucets. Their polished nickel has the tiniest bit of warmth to it so it flows perfectly with the other brass finishes in the space.

Special shout out to Erin Hansen our interior designer, she was so patient and really helped bring the things I loved to live. She is so great and putting everything together to make a space feel unified!

Answering The #1 Most Asked Question About Our House

Hands down the question I still get most in my DMs is about the flooring we put in our house. We went with wood flooring for probably 90% of the house and did Mara and Wes’ bedrooms and the theater in carpet.

Below are details along with pics to give you an idea of how it came together throughout the house:

WOOD FLOORS: MOHAWK TECWOOD VINTAGE ELEMENTS 7″ IN WINTER OAK

Flooring was one of the things I spent the most time picking out, since we had so much wood throughout the house I did sooo much research and probably looked at a thousand different flooring samples. We wanted to do engineered wood. It’s more cost effective than hardwood but still gives that gorgeous look of wood. I finally decided on their Tecwood Vintage Elements 7″ in Winter Oak and I am so happy that we did! It’s the perfect color – not too light or too dark – and has that perfect balance of warmth without reading too yellow/orange. It has looked so pretty with all of our finishes while we were building and pulling in furnishings and rugs, etc has just made me love the floors even more. They’ve also held up great so far – I know it’s still early haha but between the kids and Mio weighing in at 120 lbs, I’ve been impressed with how great the floors have done so far.

BEDROOM CARPET: MOHAWK SMARTSTRAND SILK NATURAL SPLENDOR II IN MOONBEAM

For Mara and Wes’ bedrooms I went back and forth on whether to do wood floors or carpet and we ended up going with carpet to add a cozy feel that I loved. (Especially since we added Mohawk’s SmartCushion rug pads to make it extra soft, which is great for kids) Mohawk has so many color options and different options depending on how much traffic you think a room will get, etc. so it makes it super easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.

THEATER CARPET: MOHAWK SMARTSTRAND FLAWLESS VISION IN MYSTIC SKY

For our theater room, I knew I wanted something super durable – I was already having visions of popcorn and drinks and who knows what else getting spilled on the carpet 😂 so I went with Mohawk’s SmartStrand Flawless Vision line. It’s super durable and has a subtle design plus it’s low profile so it handles traffic really well. They have tons of color options in this one too.

Downstairs Holiday Decor

Living Room:

OUTFIT DETAILS: RED RIBBED TURTLENECK

I’m excited to share our cozy basement family room. We have a living room upstairs and then a more casual family room hang out spot downstairs. When we picked out furniture for that space I knew I wanted an oversized, comfortable sectional to keep that space feeling homey. I found this one from Joss & Main and immediately loved it. We got in in the ‘Conversational Ivory’ color and it’s super comfortable and fits the whole family, and then some. Can’t recommend it enough! The ends also recline out which is an extra bonus!

Our family room has a view of the kitchenette and theatre room which we did in a deep blueish/green, so I knew I wanted to keep our living room pretty neutral, plus it makes a really versatile, neutral palette that you can transform with season accessories (i.e. all our holiday decor!). I loved this black console table and it fit our TV wall perfectly, plus it has great storage for games and remotes. We also got these pretty leather armchairs – I love the warm tones they add to the space!

Our Entryway Two-Day Transformation with Studio McGee

I am so excited to finally be able to share our entry reveal with Studio McGee! They put together our entryway as part of their ‘Two Day Transformation’ Series. It’s where they come into a home and makeover a space and completely surprise the owner. I am obsessed with everything they do, so it was easy for me to totally trust them to furnish the space. I’ve worked with them a couple times and they are one of my favorite brands to work with their team is so amazing. To get the process started, I sent them pictures of the space and also gave them a few function requests that I had on my must-haves: a big console for the entry way and I wanted something large scale above it. On the other side of the stairs I wanted a comfortable seating nook that wouldn’t clash with our living room decor since they are so close to each other. As far as the general vibe, I just wanted something warm and welcoming that flowed with the rest of our house – and they really nailed it!

We actually shot two different console tables. One with storage and one that has a more open feel. I love both! The one with cabinets is super similar to another piece of furniture we have in our dining room so I ended up going with the open one, but I loved both so much I wanted to share the styling with each 🙂

CONSOLE OPTION 1:

This is Shea (@studiomcgee) and the owner of Mcgee and Co. We’ve been friends on insta and got to finally meet during this project, she’s as sweet and beautiful in real life! Make sure to go follow her!

This is the first console option with the storage. I love the caning on it and natural wood tones.

This framed beach print! I think is the single piece that most captures our style – coastal casual.

Obsessed with these vases! The come in three different sizes and the matte black is the perfect texture to tie in the black accents throughout the rest of the house. Kristine, one of Studio McGee‘s stylists and is my favorite to work with, just pulled this greenery from a tree. I had never thought of that before but it’s really a brilliant way to get some extra height. This bowl was another piece I instantly fell in love with the second I saw it and it’s actually a good price point! I was expecting it to be a lot more expensive given how heavy and high quality it felt.

The Studio McGee team picked out this linen bench and this was probably the most surprising piece for me! I don’t think I would have picked it out for myself, but that’s why they are the pros! The slipcover really helps to break up all the open space with the metal banisters so I love how it brings some weight to that area. It’s also super comfortable and the perfect quick seat when we’re running in or out quickly.

I’m also so happy with the rug they went with! I had been on the hunt for the right rug for the entry way – one that had a little bit of pattern to break up all the solids throughout the house, but also something that would complement the living room instead of competing with it. This striped jute rug was the perfect medium!

CONSOLE OPTION 2:

Below is the second console option and the one we ended up going with. I love the open feel of it, subtle black hardware accents, and detailing on the legs.

SEATING NOOK:

This nook by the stairs was probably the spot in the house that had me the most stumped. It’s small enough that I couldn’t add large furniture or it would block the entry to the kitchen/dining room but also big enough that I needed to bring in some height.

These two chairs were really the perfect choice for this little sitting nook. They are actually comfortable too and I love Studio McGee kept the furniture in this space neutral so I could swap about the accents to transition each space for the season by swapping out the pillows or florals. I also love the height this floor lamp brings in to balance out the height of the mirror.

My favorite piece in this space is the oversized mirror. You guys know how many mirror selfies make their way to my IG or stories, so this seemed like the perfect spot to snap a quick outfit pic on my way out the door! It also brings a much needed height to the space since the ceilings are so high.

I couldn’t be happier with this space! It was neutral but still brought in some soft colors and tones to make it feel welcoming and lived in. Everything is from their shop, McGee & Co. If you haven’t checked out their shop, you need to! All of their pieces are so beautiful and the highest quality. Every time I see something I love online, I’m even more blown away by how beautiful it is in person!

Kitchen Reveal!!

That moment when you realize you get excited about faucets. 😍 Love this one from Brizo!

So happy with the color of our countertops! At first I was worried they were too gray, but it’s crazy how much all the textures and tones play off each other once everything is in. Now it’s one of my favorite parts! We went with quartz and I’m so happy they clean so easy!

All of our hardware and knobs are from Top Knob! I’m obsessed with the pulls! They are one of my favorite details, and had so many questions on them.

This runner in front of our oven is one of my favorites. It was my subtle way of bringing a little pink into our kitchen 😉

Our ILVE oven was definitely one of the things I was most excited for, not just in the kitchen but the whole house! I loved the mixed metal and it’s handmade in Italy. I studied abroad in Italy so I love having a piece of Italy in our home.

I honestly didn’t know what I was missing with just a standard refrigerator and freezer but now I can’t go back! This refrigerator and freezer have so much room!

Obsessed with all the Hudson Valley lighting fixtures throughout the house! These were perfect for the space.

You don’t realize how much detail and planning goes into every single corner of a room until you build a home! We finally put the finishing touches on our kitchen and I couldn’t be happier with how it came together, down to every last detail! We worked with some amazing brands and companies to pull it all together and I have already gotten tons of questions about the few shots here and there that I have posted, so I am excited to finally be able to share a full kitchen reveal with details on EVERYTHING to answer all your questions! The overall feel I wanted for our home is Europe meets a California coastal feel. In our kitchen it definitely feels more costal with the natural wood elements and open shelves. I wanted it to feel bright and welcoming but not too formal.

I am the type of person who always second guesses everything when I can’t see it all in front of me, so the process of picking out those big ticket items that we knew we would have to live with was kind of daunting. Luckily my designer, Erin Hansen Design, was amazing and I’m so happy we put in all the time and thought that we did! I really went back and forth between marble and quartz on our countertops and we ended up going with this quartz countertops from Bedrock Quartz and I am obsessed! When they first went in before any of the other finishes were done, I was worried it was too grey but once everything else was in I loved how it all played off each other! Now it’s one of my favorite parts of the kitchen. For the backsplash we used a longer subway tile from Bedrosians in porch white. I love the shape and how its different from the typical size. I always go back and forth between pretty detailed tile or more minimalist, and I’m so glad we went with the clean, simple look of the white subway tile.

One thing a lot of you have asked about is the chandeliers and lighting I’ve shared so far! We used Hudson Valley Lighting for most of the lighting in our house and I am so happy with how all the fixtures flow with each space. For the kitchen I wanted something unique but still subtle enough and I love these hanging pendants! They have some stunning statement lighting and chandeliers too which we used for other spots in our home – full details on those in a post to come!

One of my favorite pieces in the kitchen is definitely our ILVE range – I’ve dreamt of this piece forever and it was the first thing I picked out for the space. It’s handmade in Italy (where I studied abroad) and I loved the idea of having a piece of Italy in our home. I love the look of the mixed metals! The oven has tons of room which is amazing when we are having Cody’s family over for dinner or brunch. (We are huge breakfast people and I didn’t realize what a game changer the griddle is; I didn’t think it was possible but I think we might be having more pancakes than before haha.)

You know you are officially and adult when you get excited about a pretty kitchen faucet. We got these beautiful brass pieces from Brizo – this one for the counter and this one for the island. The island one actually has a touch feature where you can turn it on and off just touching the spout! It’s pretty cool! I loved how sleek and timeless the shape of both them are. Slightly modern but still traditional for our home. We also used them in our bathrooms and seriously they have so many gorgeous options that I had a hard time choosing. If you guys are looking for new finishes, you have to check out Brizo’s options.

Since we’ve always rented our home, this was our first time actually picking out appliances! I knew we wanted built-ins and found this Electrolux refrigerator and freezer. If you are looking for a new fridge and freezer and have space for these, I definitely recommend them. We also got this dishwasher and built-in microwave. The microwave is actually ac convection oven too, so you can cook things in there as well!

For most of the finishing touches, for our open shelves I worked with McGee & Co. I have bought so much stuff from them in our rentals and I am obsessed with everything from their store! If you haven’t looked at their stuff you need to, your cart will fill up fast 😉 I love the coastal California vibe of all their pieces. Below are a few more of my favorite details from the reveal!

Outdoor Summer Living: Our Backyard Patio

As you guys have seen on my blog multiple times, World Market is one of my favorite spots for furniture so I was so excited to partner with them to share some pics of the stuff I picked out for our back patio!

We just finalized the last few touches on our back patio and just in time to start soaking in the perfect weather! I think the view from our back patio is all of our favorite part of the house, so as soon as it was set up it became our go-to spot, whether we are eating meals outside, catching up on emails and work, or just grabbing a good magazine or book, we are out here every day.

You probably recognize a few of these pieces from our last house – I bought these lounge chairs and this sofa at World Market last year. I love the crisp white with the wooden contrast! One thing I realized in putting together this space was how important it is to have some contrast (and that was through trial and error of bringing random pieces home and exchanging it 🙂 but contrast brings so much depth to a space and makes it more interesting to the eye. I love how these faux concrete end tables break up the whites and tans. Side note – obsessed with look of stacked end tables! It’s super functional, too – you can never have too many flat surfaces when you’re hosting.

I am also so happy with how the rugs tie the space together! There’s such a fine line between a pattern that can make a space feel too busy and just a solid rug that has the opposite effect. This area rug was perfect for the space – it’s a small print and I love the subtle variation in colors/tones throughout it, but it’s still neutral enough to not overwhelm the sitting area. Since the dining area is a little more streamlined, I wanted to bring in some more texture with the rug and love this one. I also tried about 3-4 dining room tables before I found the one that fit the rest of the aesthetic and I’m so happy with this one! Another obvious lesson learned – don’t wing it guessing what will fit in your space – measure it out, lol (from someone who learned the hard way!)

Tackle Your Closet Spring Cleaning with These 10 Easy Tips to Make Your Closet Feel More Like a Boutique

I’m so excited to give you guys a BABY PEEK at my closet. We are still waiting on some details, so I’m probably a couple months from the full reveal but whenever my home office or house is disorganized, it’s impossible for me to focus or be productive. Now that we are in our new house, I’m trying to start off on the right foot and make sure we have a place for everything so it’s easier to keep tidy! My closet which is probably the hardest for me to keep organized, so I had an organizing service help me so I could make it the most functional. I wanted to share a few tips to start your closet spring cleaning off right!

1. Drawer Dividers: You know you are an adult when The Container Store is one of your favorite places to shop 😂but having the right organizers makes such a huge difference! You Marie Kondo fans have noticed she uses drawer dividers (also love these) and now that I’ve started using them there’s no going back. You can use any boxes you have around the house, but the uniform look feels so much more finished and it helps me what to keep my drawers organized. Same goes for these shelf dividers – life-changing!

2. Folding Tricks: Another trick I learned is to fold all your clothes and stack them all next to each other instead of on top of each other. You’ll be able to see everything in one glance, so you don’t have to go digging at the bottom of any stacks and destroying your piles in the process. It also helps you maximize your drawer space so you are using every corner more efficiently. (I’ve always struggled with pants but actually LOVE how they look folded up this way in the dresser!)

3. Label It: Can I tell you how excited I was to get a label maker!! I opt for over-labeling. I like having it clear so I can’t forget and I just love the way they look! Anyone else?? I labeled all my drawers, the subsections of my drawers, and the storage bins on my top shelves. I knew it would help me be better about putting clothes away right where they go. And for bins that show that you need a bigger label for – these gold label holders are so cute! I used them in our laundry room and love them!

4. Think Vertically: Making the most of vertical space isn’t limited to drawers – take advantage of every shelf by storing some of your less-frequently used items in bins or organizers towards the type of your closet (these are the ones I used). Storage bins (25% off) can absolutely transform a closet and make it look really high-end (love these and these are 25% off). The bins are also an easy way to store some of the pieces that aren’t as pretty when displayed. I put the less frequently used items up high depending on the season. Then I also have some of these pretty boxes on lower shelves for belts and more day to day items that are easy to access without using a step ladder. (Also, using the same colored hanger makes everything look more unified!)

5. Keep Your Go-Tos Within Reach: To my earlier point, you want to keep that pieces that are in constant rotation somewhere convenient since you’ll reach for them so often. Keep your belts and day-to-day accessories in bins on lower shelves that are easily accessible and store some of your seasonal pieces like mittens and gloves in bins that you can stick on a high shelf until you need them.

6. Displaying > Decorating: If you’re anything like me, shoes and bags are some of the most beautiful things you own, so why not display them!? I am obsessed with these purse stands (this was actually a tip from the organizers that came in – use plate or book stands) that help keep your handbags from falling down and make it easier to display them, and having them all out in eyesight means they all get more use instead. (Has anyone else found a bag they loved buried and forgotten in their closet? I mean it’s a bit like Christmas, so not all bad, haha but I think it’s even better to have all of your bag options out in plain sight.) Also, I never used to stuff my bags and when we moved I noticed a lot of them were losing shape and kind of flimsy. I realized it’s 100% worth getting the bag stuffers to help them keep their shape and value. I love these.

7. Keep your favorite boxes: Everybody has that special pair of shoes or bag that you are most proud of that comes in a box that still gets you excited every time you look at it – add some of that magic to your closet and display those pretty boxes as decoration! It also doubles as storage for those seasonal items you don’t need to access as often.

8. Display Jewelry: I love how chic and simple these accent organizers are! My closet is still a work in progress so I haven’t laid out all my jewelry yet, but I love how it’s coming together and they are on sale right now so I wanted to share ASAP.

9. Shoe Shapers: Boots are typically some of the higher-ticketed items in our closet. they last for seasons, so help keep them in shape and aging better with shapers! They also help keep it more unified for looks too. 😉

10. Purge! This is my biggest tip before you start organizing. Take a before pic (this is mine lol)! Then take everything out, and as you decide what to keep ask yourself: Am I excited to wear this? Have I worn it in the last 12 months? Does it make me happy? If there is any hesitation with any of those three questions just LET IT GO! It’s easier to maintain a space with less clutter and things you are excited to wear and use!

Happy Valentines guys!!! Are you staying in or going out? Cody and I went out to a movie last night and tonight we have all the kids and are going to make heart pizzas 🙂

I have so much of our house still to decorate!! So this week I wanted to share all this cute home inspo under $100!!! So many good finds! Especially loving this blush pink rug & basket. The basket is only $35!! The wood beads are a great way to add a little warmth to your decor. They look great inside a bowl on a console or coffee table and they are under $10! Hey 2019! House and Life update…

Hey guys! Its been a minute…but I am back! Wanted to take some extra time after the holiday to finish up things on our house and spend time with my family. It was an awesome break but I am really excited for this year and whats to come! Since I’ve been gone for awhile, I thought I would do a quick 5 things update:

We still haven’t moved into our house…but its SOOOOO close! I know I’ve said this a couple times but I think we might be moving in this weekend! (I added a bunch of home update pics on my instagram stories so if you missed it, you can click on the home highlight reel to catch up!)
A lot of you guys have asked about our exterior lights, I am so excited about how they turned out. Here’s a link to the lights.
Just left on my first work trip of the year with Lancome to Sonoma! Its my first time here…any suggestions?
I was looking through pics of my pregnancy announcement with Beckam today and my best friend Jen and I realized her due date coming up is the exact same day that Beckam was due back in March of 2014! B came 5 days early and she is measuring a week ahead, so how crazy would it be if her new baby boy has the same birthday as B?!
Our internet has been out at our house for over a month, and they keep saying they will send a new router and they haven’t yet!!! Freaking Century Link…don’t use them!! There are so many shows we have been wanting to watch on Netflix and haven’t been able to catch up on! But we finally watched Birdbox…I normally hate scary movies and to be honest I had to cover my eyes a couple of times, but I loved it! I love a good suspenseful movie. What have you been watching on Netflix lately?

House Update

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a house update on the blog! I’m always sharing updates on Instagram, but thought it was long overdue to put share some updates here 🙂

Now all our flooring is covered while they work on the other parts of the house. This is our living room (and partial dining room) view. One of the things we really stressed when we were designing this house was we wanted as much natural light as possible. Cody and I both love windows and the energy of a bright space so we maximized as much windows as possible.

Kitchen Views – we wanted lots of open shelving

Last weekend was the first time I’ve noticed this angle, and I’m so in love with all the windows you see from here.

They are about 75% done with cabinets. These are the lockers for the kids backpacks and coats when you come in from the garage. That is one of my biggest pet peeves right now we have a really small closet at our rental, and when the kids come home from school everything just gets thrown at our entry way especially during the winter with coats, so I am really excited about these with lots of storage so we don’t have that mess.

This is going to be my little home office! Obsessed with the skinny herringbone we did in here 😍

Downstairs family room – before we added the tile benches.

These tile benches are one of my favorite details of the whole house! They look down to the sports court area on the lower level. Im so excited to put cute pillows on them! A bunch of you were asking about tile details. They are handmade ceramic tiles. I got them here.

There are so many details I would have never noticed before building, but now I get excited about every little thing. I love all the lines with the window surroundings and trim.

We are doing a wood tile in our master bathroom. Can you guys tell how much I love Herringbone 🙂

My flash kind of made the color blues seem really different in the pic above (with flash) and below (no flash) but I wanted a pop of color somewhere, and love this tile we’re putting down in our laundry room. It’s the prettiest blue!

So right now we are hoping, REALLY HOPING, to make it in before Christmas. Cody thinks it will be Valentines Day and I’m praying for Christmas haha so we will see. Fingers Crossed! I’m REALLY excited for the space and what it will be, but I also don’t want to sugar coat it and act like it hasn’t been stressful, that Cody and I haven’t fought about decisions along the way, or had hiccups in this whole process. I think honestly I just had no idea how many little decisions went into this process. Also I am a crazy detail oriented person when it comes to even the smallest details on how I want something to look. If I could give any piece of advice I would say if you have never built a home (this is our first time and we had zero experience) and are doing everything 100% custom, realize it is 100% a part time to full time job. I think if we were to do it over, I almost wish we would have done one of the subdivision homes where they only give you limited amount of options so I could learn the process for my first time, and then do 100% custom the second time around where I know more about the details and how long things take. I know we will love the home so much once its done. I want it to be a place the kids have so many memories of and consider the “house they grew up in”. My family was in town a couple weeks ago and my parents pulled up the house I grew up in in elementary/middle school in Washington, and I had soooo many memories. I can’t wait to make this that special place with the kids.

I’ll be better at posting more updates a long the way now as we reach the home stretch – is there anything else specific you guys want to see?
