Our family easter pictures are always one of my favorites of the year – with 6 people, getting a family pic with coordinated outfits can be rare 😂 so I always get excited for our family Easter outfits. I feel like the kids are all finding their own style, this year more than ever, and we are all obsessed with Nike Dunks right now so I thought it would be fun to embrace the color this year, especially with our shoe game. We all wear our Dunks and Jordans so much – they go with everything and come in so many different colors. The kids love them so much that they have saved up to buy their own pairs. Super comfortable and great quality 🙌🏼

Mara picked out her dress, I loved the colors and it’s such a good price point. she had idea to wear long sleeve underneath since it’s still kind of cold here. Cannot believe it’s $7.25!!

If I get my vote, I give it a 10/10. Jeans are such a back to school staple and I was dying at how cute he looked in these. (on sale under $20). I kept them and said sometimes you have to wear jeans to certain events, so hoping I can convince him to give denim another chance haha.

Over the years my sneaker collection has gradually overtaken my heel collection. My favorite workout sneakers of all time are hands down every variation of my adidas UltraBOOSTs. I have multiple pairs of the UltraBOOSTs and the UltraBOOST Xs and wear them all on repeat. I just got this pair in white and wore them all over Park City this past weekend. They are really lightweight and have a boost cushioning for extra support so it feels like you’re walking/running on air.

The older I get, the more I appreciate good loungewear. Not only does a cozy, oversized sweater and jogger combo make for the perfect outfit to wear for a day at home, but you can also split them up and wear them out as separates. I can’t count how many times I’m running errands or heading to the mall in a good pair of sweats and sneakers – they are pretty much my uniform this season! Here are three ways to upgrade your loungewear to make them feel streetwear worthy.

1. Set it up: There’s nothing better than a matching loungewear set! For me, the most wearable sets are the ones that are neutral and monochromatic. That I can also wear out with sneakers for those mom days I don’t make it out of my sweats haha. I love the matching grey in this set for a simple, sophisticated look. Keeping it neutral also makes it more versatile, so you can split them up are wear them as separates (like in my airport outfit below).
2. Splurge: I have joggers and sweatshirts at price points all over the board and I wear them all. But there’s something about reaching for a cashmere set that will add a little bit of luxury to your morning/night – even if it’s just catching up on emails before breakfast or reading bedtime stories to your babies. I’m obsessed with this new cashmere sweater and jogger set – so soft and comfortable! I’m sized up to a small because I like my loungewear a little
3. The Slipper: Last but not least, added a fluffy pair of slippers makes more of a difference than you might think. I posted these yesterday and got so many comments/questions. They are super fluffy and although you’ll only wear them around the house, there’s something about a cute pair of shoes that makes you feel pulled together – even if it’s just slippers! 4. Versatile: The thing I love most about investing in good quality loungewear is when you can wear them with your regular everyday clothes. I wore the sweater from my set on a trip to Milwaukee and got so many compliments on the it. Outfit deets below 🙂

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!  There are so many holiday traditions that I love doing with my family this time of year.

A few of my very favorites are:

• Doing the Elf on the Shelf with the kiddos (if I can keep track of and find that dang elf each year!! haha) The kids look forward to this one so much — so just to warn you, once you do it one year…you have to do it every year!  Even though I always run out of ideas, its worth seeing the look on the kids faces each morning when they find the elf! If you need help with ideas like me – there are so many cute ideas of what to do with the elf online, and the Elf also comes with a book with tons of good ideas too!
• The 12 days of Christmas!  This started yesterday and its something I have been doing since I was little with my parents.  They would surprise me each morning with something new (socks, candy, etc) and each morning I would sing the 12 days of Christmas song with them counting down every day until Christmas. It was so much fun that I do this with the kids now too!
• I grew up in Montana and went to cut down our Christmas tree with my family each year and its one of my best holiday memories. The smell of a fresh tree reminds me so much of home at the holidays now that I had to get a fresh tree this year too!  Its another fun holiday tradition that I want to continue with the kids as they grow.

Happy Sunday!  Hope you all had a great week. I’m excited to answer some questions this week – you guys send in the best questions!  I get a lot about being a step mom and the fertility journey so I made sure to include some of those below. 🙂

1. How often do you see your step kids?
We share custody with their mom, but she has primary custody. Its nice because we live close to each other so now that they are in sports and stuff we still get to go to their games and school activities and see them even on the days that we don’t have them.

2. Favorite TV shows right now?
We watch The Office or Seinfeld every night before we go to bed when we don’t have a series that we are in to. Or just to shut off for the night if we are watching an intense series. We just got into Designated Survivor which we love. We finished Ozarks last month which was so good! (This is an adult show so if you’re a younger reader I would stay away 😉

3. How do you stay so thin?
Because of my genetics I am naturally thin but if I’m not working out or being active I loose muscle fast and feel soft and kind of bloated haha I don’t really know how to explain it.  I workout to stay toned and because I love the way it makes me feel. It give me more energy for sure and helps with stress.

4. Do you follow a strict diet? Or if you want something do you let yourself have it?
I for sure indulge and let myself have it!  I will try different things like cutting sugars or not eating as much processed food or soda but as much as I wish I could, I can’t stick with those diets for too long so I try to set short term goals for myself. 

5. What are your favorite makeup products these days?  Favorite eyeshadow?
My favorite eyeshadow right now is this palette I just got from Bobbi Brown – its so pretty! Other products I am loving lately are: this bronzer, this mascara, this primer, this eyeliner, this foundation, and this brow pencil! **And good news!! Sephora is having their Beauty Insider sale right now…everything is 15% off through Monday! Time to stock up 🙂

6. How is your infertility journey going? What are your next steps?
We got some answers from the doctor last week and I’ll be sharing more soon – thanks for all of your sweet messages and notes it really means so much to me. ❤️

7. Favorite store to buy nice shoes?
Saks definitely has one of the best Designer shoe selections. I am pretty loyal to Nordstrom so I look there a lot too but their styles are more mainstream if that’s what you are looking for! Net-a-Porter and SSense have more unique styles.

8. What happens to all the clothes you model. Do you keep them? Are they loaned?
97% are either gifted or I buy them, on a rare occasion for really expensive jewelry where I have worn multiple pieces for a post they can be loaned to style shoots. A majority of the clothes are mine and the clothes I don’t keep I give to my friends and family. I will sell the higher end pieces and do blogger sales. I donate a lot to charity and I give a lot to my family’s church in Montana where they donate to foster kids that don’t have clothes.

9. Your favorite wardrobe staples?
For fall & winter, when it gets really cold I don’t get ready as much because I hate being cold!! So to be honest I am in sweats and comfy clothes a lot.  I recently got this new fuzzy hoodie and love this jacket and this pink corduroy jacket.

I think its worth investing in a nice handbag but thats always relative to your budget, don’t make yourself go broke over it!  Pick something that is timeless – pick something that is a neutral color. Buy one bag that is nicer that can work with multiple outfits instead of 5 cheaper ones. My favorite designer bag is this one. 

I found a tan suede bootie after my hunt last week! A couple of you actually emailed me and it was so sweet!  I have had them on repeat this week. I also just got this pair in the mail and I love love them!!

And lastly, a comfy pair of distressed jeans will always be one of my wardrobe staples. The pair I definitely wear the most and am most asked about are these.  

10. How did you feel about becoming a step mom?
It was never an issue to be a step mom because my parents got divorced when I was little and my step mom was always so great to me. She was such a good example and I grew up with a loving step mom so that really helped me when I became one. She always treated me with so much love that I was excited to be a step mom too 🙂 I’m not saying it isn’t hard, with any situation there are always hard emotions you have to navigate through. But the idea of being a step mom was never hard for me! Even if you didn’t have a step mom growing up it doesn’t mean you cant be a great step mom! I can’t imaging our family without Mara and Wes and I made a conscious decision early on to treat them as if they are my own. Go in with a mentality that you don’t want to replace their mom but that you will love them and treat them as your own.

11. What’s Cody’s profession?
He’s an entrepreneur and runs and manages couple different companies. 

12. How do you deal with mom guilt especially when traveling without Beckam?
Its definitely hard, but my parents live out of town and so I look at it as a good opportunity for them to watch Beckam and spend time with him – they usually come to town to watch him or he goes up to Montana to stay with them. He loves being in Montana and I love that he gets one on one time with them.  Some times are harder than others but I am always excited and re-energized to come home and be the best mom to him I can be!

13. How tall are you and Cody? 
Cody is 6’3” and I’m 5’7” and 3/4…I like to claim 5’8” 😉

I can’t believe summer break has come to an end! It’s bittersweet because I love having the kids home from school and getting to spend so much time together, but the excitement of back to school shopping softens the string a little. 🙂 I always looked forward to back to school shopping when I was a kid and it’s been just as much fun as a parent now! Here are 4 back-to-school style pieces that every kid needs for the year ahead.

1. Something fun! You will never regret investing in a statement piece that your kids get excited to wear. Sure they might try to wear it 3 days in a row, but there are worse things, right? 😉 Mara loved this pom-pom sweatshirt and tulle skirt. It’s a fun outfit to throw into their school clothes rotation and every kid needs an outfit they feel extra special in and I love this one! It’s so fun to see the kids’ personality and style develop as they get older every year.
2. Staples they can mix and match. This is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in buying kids clothes. The more versatile and mixable the pieces you buy, the more use you’ll get out of them. Think solids, layers, and classic patterns like stripes or camo. Gymboree’s latest campaign has lots of options to mix and match so just a few new pieces can go a long way and create multiple outfits.
3. Graphics. There’s a happy middle ground between busy prints and basic solids and it’s call graphics! They are a great way to let the kids’ personality show through and can help break up the patterned and solid pieces they own. I love the fun patches on this graphic pullover and it’s also pretty accurate. 😉
4. Everything comfortable. If it’s not comfy, my kids won’t wear it. (Actually, I’m the same way with my clothes haha!) So the biggest things to look for are comfort and quality – pieces that can handle whatever kids throw at them. That’s especially true of denim, which probably gets the brunt of a fun day. Love the jeans we found for Wes and B which are really soft and still durable. Gymboree is dialing up the comfort and softness of their line, so it’s a great destination for quality pieces.

The many faces of B – I can’t believe how big he is getting!!

Hi from NYC! Cody is working as the brand ambassador for Westin (so proud of him!) so we are in NY for the next couple days for an event. Normally flying is a breeze and doesn’t phase me. Yesterday we were stuck on the tarmac for an hour and half before we took off because of weather in nyc. We were in the very last row with no window and I was getting major anxiety lol. Like claustrophobic feeling times 100. Usually Cody is the one who gets anxiety but it was totally me yesterday lol.

I got these sneakers earlier this week I’m obsessed with the colors. They are my new favorites and under $100! My other travel staple is a good baseball hat and I’m obsessed with this one. It’s felt so it’s a little different from anything else I own and I love the soft shade of grey, it goes with everything! Also this sweater I’m wearing here is super cozy and on sale under $25 (comes in three colors). More great travel style options below!

Hey guys!! I have soooo many travel guides still in my saved drafts I need to post still so I’m telling you guys here and now that I’m going to post them with in the next 7 days! I think by writing it down it holds me accountable haha but I’m excited to share our travel diary from our trip to Punta Cana earlier this month. It was our first time to the Dominican Republic so we were super excited to go! We stayed at the Nickelodeon Punta Cana. They opened about a year ago, so it’s really nice and new still. The kids said it was their favorite trip we have done, and honestly Cody and I went with the intention it was going to be super kid focused but it was actually super fun for adults too! With that, here are 7 reasons to visit the Nickelodeon Punta Cana Resort:

1. There’s something for everyone. Going to a themed resort, we were expecting it to be more geared towards the kids but I was surprised at how adult-friendly it was! There’s the full-fledged kids area and water park, but then there is an area with several pools and direct beach access with cabanas, food, endless Pina coladas and the perfect body surfing waves! So it appealed to the whole family, not just the kids!  Every day we would see at least a couple characters around the resort, but they weren’t out 24/7 so the magic and excitement at seeing a new character never went away.

2. The accommodations. If you guys followed along on Insta stories at all, you know what I’m talking about. The villas are insane! They have tons of different options for rooms that are all amazing- this one even had a pool in the villa. Especially when you are traveling as a family, the room is always high on my list because the kids need a break from the sun sometimes so it’s nice to have a spacious area to come relax. Also they had an outdoor shower and tub and it was my favorite part of the room!! The kids took a bath every night outside and Cody and I would wake up and relax in the tub. Seriously I highly suggest the upgrade! Also one of the villas is the shape of a pineapple – Spongebob’s House!

Mara took this pic.  The kids have really gotten into photography it’s so cute to see them just pick up the camera and take their own pics of each other 🙂

3. The Waterpark Foam Party. This reminded me so much of a kid-friendly version of spring break haha. They had the foam party a couple days a week and foam up parts of the water park, which ends up flowing into the lazy river and kids pool. Definitely a highlight! Make sure you do it! The water park in general is super nice! They have tons of water slides for all ages and so the kids were entertained for hours!

4. The beach. Direct beach access is SO NICE! The stretch of beach right in front of the resort had little waves (it might have just been windy the day we were there). Cody and the kids loved it because it was perfect water for body surfing. Yes I went a couple times, but you guys know how scared I am when I can’t see the bottom of the water (shark phobia!)  I know so pathetic so I only went for like 15 minutes before my anxiety would set in! haha please tell me someone else gets it?? But the water is also super warm so it’s easy to get in.

If you walk super smooth water you can walk not even 2 minutes to the left, the water is totally calm so you really had the best of both worlds right there. We took a taxi to another beach about 5 minutes away which was also amazing but I’ll be sharing that in a full post soon!

5. The food! At a lot of the inclusive resorts we’ve found that even if you eat at different restaurants, the food starts to feel the same, but that wasn’t the case at all here. The food was so good. Our favorites were Verdello (Italian – loved the bolognese spaghetti and the lasagna!) and Wok Wok (Asian Fusion – the fried rice was amazing!). There was also a cute little coffee shop that had the best caramel macchiato I’ve ever had! They had ice creams and gourmet desserts around the clock so the kids stopped every couple hours for a treat 🙂 They said the ice-cream was their favorite.

We also did a character breakfast one morning. You can either do all the characters of ninja turtles. The kids opted for ninja turtles and Wes was so excited. He got the most into it, Beckam liked it for a second then got scared haha.

6. The kids’ zone. The kid center was really nice. They had a different character theme every day – one day was Dora the Explorer theme complete with a treasure hunt. They also had a Paw Patrol day (Beckam’s favorite!) and a cool Paw Patrol slide like the show. The kids loved it and always wanted to go back, so it ended up being perfect timing for Cody and I to sneak in a spa service 😉

5. The entertainment. Every night the Nickelodeon Punta Cana Resort had a different show going on. It was fun to have something to look forward to every night! Our favorite was the circus show. They also play a different kid movie on a big projector in the common area with free treats and a old school popcorn machine. They put out toys like hola hoops and stuff for the kids to play with. Mara and Wes made new friends from New York and still talk to them even since we’ve been home 🙂

6. The spa. I wish I had a good picture of the spa. If you saw my stories you know the joke lol. I asked Cody to take a pic and he said got it and it was a blurry one of me with my eyes closed lol. Haha we all can relate! But the spa was so so nice. We got a couple massage. Make sure you go to the back serenity and pool area to relax. It’s so peaceful.

7. GET SLIMED! I think this was what Wes was MOST excited about. He literally was shaking he was so excited. We all got slimed big time!! Wes loved it so much we did it twice 🙂 For sure a must do!

I seriously can’t believe we are more than halfway through summer break! Beckam is starting preschool this year and I’m in full denial – the kids are getting so old I just feel like  suddenly all the babies seem so grown up!! When I was growing up, I loved going back to school shopping so every year I look forward to going and picking things out with the kids. All the kiddos are little hellions. I love them to death by the wreak havoc on their clothes (which, hey, kids are supposed to play hard right 🙂 so, I am always looking for affordable and versatile pieces for them.

It’s so fun to see how their style evolves each school year! They are all to the point they like to pick out their own pieces. Mara is really picky about her denim too. She lives in cotton black leggings unless I find her soft stretchy jeans. These H&M ones are my go-to.

I always buy the kids’ denim at H&M – it was the first spot I ever bought skinny jeans for the kids. Their jeans are always a good cut, a good price point, and they last a long time – all musts for kids clothes. They also have awesome shoes for the kids. All the kids’ shoes from today’s post are H&M. I love the Beckam and Wes can get matching sneaks!  and I’ve been going back ever since.

Wes is really into jerseys and all things sports related so this numbered graphic sweatshirt is the perfect compromise. It still has that athletic feel he likes but is a step up from his sportswear shirts.

B just learned to zip up his own jacket so he is excited to wear anything with a zipper these days. 🙂

Happy Friday guys! Who else is excited for the weekend??

1. No matter how old the kids get they still light up every time we play with bubbles!

2. I can’t handle how cute Mara is carrying around her purse! She even carries around my credit card and keys in her bag when I don’t feel like bringing mine. Haha!

3. Wes is losing all his teeth at the same time! It’s so cute and we can’t help but laugh because every time her smiles there’s almost a full open gap where he’s missing 4 teeth. The two front teeth are slowly starting to grow in so it won’t last much longer but I’m loving all the pictures we are getting in the mean time. 🙂

4. I’ve mentioned it before, but the kids would pretty much live in athletic clothes if they could get away with it. Sometimes they need something a little more dressed up. I found these shorts and this style from the Jumping Beans line at Kohl’s that look nice but are still really stretchy and they don’t restrict the kids at all. Best of all, they are under $10 so it’s a great budget find and I don’t worry if they are a little rough on them while they are playing.

5. Converse are one of the first shoes I ever bought for Beckam when he was a baby so I’ll forever have a soft spot for them. I love that they make them in everyone’s size in the family because I’m obsessed with matching sneakers.

6. I can’t believe the school year is almost over! The kids only have 2 weeks until they are out of school. This year is flying by!!

7. I always look forward to the summer because we have more time with the kids. It seems like during the school year they are in sports and dance so much during the week, so it’s nice to have that extra time to really play with them, go on hikes, visit the splash pad, or go on a summer getaway.

Am I the only one who’s likes to get bags or shoes as souvenirs from vacations? We’ve been traveling so much lately playing catch up on meetings and things at home. I got this reversible bomber from Coach and I’m dead! It’s a great statement piece but also versatile enough that you can work it into any outfit.

It’s always a great reminder that there are so many good people out there – it always makes my day! I love finding pretty luggage! I’ve kind of started collecting because I like different pieces for different occasions or destinations.  I’m the worst at condensing everything into a carry-on (although I’ve been making a little progress with Cody’s help lol) so especially when it comes to family trips we end up needing a lot of suitcases. We’ve also been traveling so much lately that a lot of the time I still have a partially unpacked suitcase on our bedroom floor while I’m packing for the next trip, so having a few luggage options has been a lifesaver, haha.

The inside of the suitcase has drawer-like sections (like a dresser) which make it really convenient for packing, especially if it’s for the kids. I can use one section for each kid.

Seriously is there any better feeling than matching luggage? I’ve been looking for a cognac leather style for forever so when I found this one I had to get the matching weekender from Joy Mangano. A classic leather is such a pretty neutral and it’s timeless you can use it forever.

Hey guys! One of my main goals from last year was to travel more and it’s something I want to focus on this year too. I moved around a lot as a kid and I really think it helped shape me as a person and drove my love for travel as an adult! Some of my favorite memories with my family were on trips and I hope our kids feel the same! I feel like there’s so much to learn from seeing new places and interacting with different people around the world. I know there’s still so much world to see and you could spend a lifetime seeing it all, but below are three destinations that are on my bucket list:

1.  Bora Bora – A little cliche. I feel like everyone has this on their list, but I really want to go anywhere with huts over the ocean! Maldives, Bora Bora, Fiji, it looks like the ultimate tropical paradise!

2. Iceland – I actually hate the cold, Cody and I are both big cold wimps, but I’m throwing that all out the window because everything about Iceland looks AMAZING. The warm lagoons, the Northern Lights, the ice glaciers! I’m really dying to go!

3. Italian Coast – I lived in Florence, Italy for 6 months during college, doing a study abroad, and I was so bummed I didn’t get down the Southern part of Italy and see the coast! I really want to take Cody and the kids back to where I lived and then go spend a week along the coast!

I also wanted to share 3 of my favorite places I’ve been that you guys should add to your bucket list! Ok so Paris is probably one of my favorite cities in the world, but I think that might be everyone’s so outside of that obvious one:

1.  Dubai – travel guide coming soon!! But Dubai was so much different than I anticipated. The architecture, attention to detail, the beaches, everything was so beautiful!

2.  Hawaii – this has become a family favorite for us, we are making it an annual tradition to go here. Everywhere we go nothing compares to Hawaii’s beaches and the it’s in the US, so it’s usually the quickest and least expensive to get to as well.

3. Mykonos – So when we did our big Europe trip last summer, Santorini, was at the top of my bucket list and I actually liked Mykonos a lot better! Don’t get me wrong, both were beautiful, but something about Mykonos I liked more. The town felt a little younger, and the main city area is so cute! They have beautiful beaches and really good pastries!

I can’t believe November is coming to an end already! I swear the last two months fly by faster than the whole year! hope you guys got some good buys this weekend between Black Friday and the Cyber Monday sales! You guys know I love finding matching pieces for the family, but I also love when I can find subtle ways for everyone to coordinate. Our whole family is really into Nike – Beckam loves to copy everything Cody does and wears and Wes is really into sports so it’s fun for them all to be somewhat coordinated. I found some super cute Nike pieces under $20 for the kids at Gordmans a couple weeks ago and (much needed) finds for Wes who is growing like a horse! He’s only 7 and is already wearing size 10-12 (everyone thinks he’s older than Mara) – he’s already outgrown all of his long sleeve layers from last year I purposely bought a size up in, so I’ve had to basically start from scratch again and get him all new shirts. Not that I’m really complaining because I will take any excuse to do more shopping. 😉

 I also found these boots for me under $20 and found a Levi’s pair for Cody that he really liked.

I was actually really surprised how good a toy selection they had for the kids too. We have started shopping early this year and a lot of the toys were items I hadn’t seen at other department stores, like some cute trolls stuff (Mara is obsessed with trolls right now!). We picked up a few holiday knick knacks and how amazing is this light pendant (under $30). They have so much stuff in-store that isn’t online so I would really say go look in store! You can score a couple online deals like these boots under $20.

Christmas has exploded in our house! We already have our tree up, I’ve been blasting Christmas music, and of course we already have our Christmas pajamas out.

It snowed for the first time last week and I was kind of dreading it at first when they were forecasting it, but once I was cozy under my covers and the snow started to fall I got all sorts of excited. 🙂 Cody and I laid in bed with out bedroom patio doors open, layered on the blankets, and just watched the snow fall. I’ve been on a Christmas pajama buying binge these last two weeks. I keep finding the cutest sets and Old Navy is running 40% off everything right now (discount doesn’t show up until checkout) so it was double the excuse to stock up. I literally bought like 10 pairs last week! Not all for myself haha, but for friends and family too. I love getting holiday jammies and they make for the best presents – here are 6 reasons why.

1. Who doesn’t love cute pajamas?: vIf you spend a third of you life sleeping, there’s no point in doing it in pajamas you don’t love. 😉 Am I right?! Obsessed with this buffalo check set and this plaid night shirt was one of my favorite finds.
2. You won’t feel guilty about letting them open this present early: The whole point of Christmas pajamas is to be able to wear them all month long right? So in this case, the sooner they get to open this gift the better!
3. It will turn into a favorite family tradition: The matching Christmas jammies has become a big tradition with my cousins.
4. They double as great winter layers: We got Beckam these pajamas and the green pajama shirt has been pulling double duty as an undershirt. Pajama sets always come in a good selection of colors so they are great ways to add some depth and interest to kids’ looks as an undershirt.
5. Your family pictures will thank you: I know I can’t be the only one who likes to coordinate everyone’s outfits lol. Everybody has their cameras out during the holidays so why not be prepared? Matching pajamas family photos are the best family photos. I’m obsessed with this striped onesie for the kids (comes in multiple colors/patterns) and got this striped set and love this striped one in both red and grey.
