In reply to Marta. So I use a lotion as my base and then if I have makeup on I use a spray SPF through out the day. I love Kate Somervilles make up setting SPF :)

I’m always confused by these suggestions: you should apply SPF BEFORE make up but then reapply it every hour or so? And how? By taking off your makeup every hour and then reapplying? Doesn’t seem realistic

I read somwhere that if a bottle of sunscreen lasts that long you are not applying enough of it, I try to keep that in mind.

Don’t forget to apply SPF to your eyelids, close to your lashes. It’s a very common place for different types of skin cancer! ISDIN had a sunscreen that is friendly (er) on the eyes and doesn’t sting.

Great post! It makes me so happy to see bloggers and influencers stressing the importance of SPF and sun safety. Here in the South, tanning beds and laying out are still religiously used *shudders* and it makes me scared for these young women. I prefer to always stick to shadow areas and stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible.

Love these tips!

A big one I see is people applying as soon as they get to the pool or beach instead of ~20mins before even going in the sun. I always make sure to apply beforehand! Also big on making sure I use sunscreen on my scalp.. those sunburns are the worst!
