oh girl I feel your pain! We bought land in 2015 and decided to build it ourselves with no experience. We got screwed over by so many trades despite having a lot of industry connections (I’m a property manager for a developer) and we only just moved in this past November… so 2.5 years later. There were so many headaches and fights along the way, and we did all of the interior design ourselves too just to add more stress/fun! I will say though that we are thrilled with the finished product and are very proud of ourselves. If you ever want tips or a house tour feel free to follow me on ig: chelseastvirji. Oh man! I feel your frustration in terms of building houses. My family went through building 3 houses, and each time we had to live in a tiny RV camper. Nothing like having no bedrooms for four people lol! The location you picked for your house is beautiful and that view is amazing. I can’t wait to hear more!

I am SO grateful you are taking the time to share this story! My husband just sold his house in Logan and we are now living in Bountiful. We are trying to find a new place to live and aren’t sure if we want to build or buy. The whole process regardless of building or buying is terrifying. I have no idea who to trust. I’m from California so I don’t even know what rumors there are for the areas in which to look. I can’t wait to read more.
